This is the dumbest thing Ben Johnson has ever written. First, he has to forward this ridiculous strawman that Obama just wants to disarm us completely and then hope the rest of the world disarms….just open us up for attack. Then he decides to just jump in with both feet with this crazy stuff about countries trying to catch up to us. Ben Johnson knows better…he's just being a lying puppet, but I will go over this just for good measure.

No country could ever afford to “catch us”.
We have enough in our arsenal to destroy the world several times over. If we reduce our arsenal, this does nothing to our capacity to “defend” ourselves with adequate force. What it does do is keep us from looking like hypocrites as we tell others what they can and cannot have…or as we advise the world on a “direction”….and it will end up saving us money. Nuclear weapons don't last forever anyway, you have to maintain them and eventually retire them. If we are going to retire some old weapons and close some facilties anyway, we might as well get credit for cutting back on our nuclear weapons.

The worst threat is a nuclear weapon delivered in such a way that we didn't know who to return fire at…such as a suicide bomber or something like that. Otherwise we could cut 2/3 of our arsenal and MAD would still be in effect. The best way to deal with proliferation is to get other countries involved in programs to savely dispose of their nuclear weapons and materials. If you want a rogue nuclear weapon or dirty bomb finding its way into the US, then do nothing about this issue…or try to blugeon the world into some type of compliance.

Hamstring our “defense”…really Ben? Come on…your article is an exercise in twisting reality and bad mouthing the President. And so severe too…if the country is still here in four years you guys will owe Obama an apology.

You must remember he had a democrat congress to contend with. Not so with “W” until 06. Reagan's Presidency was dominated by the cold war and all it entailed. Bush's the war in Iraq and generally the war on terror. I believe those are the most urgent responsibilities of a President.

Obama, on the other hand is focused on America, and to say that Obama is not the problem, is minimizing the agenda of this administration. Yes, it's not only Obama, but, he and his machine are a different breed of cat from mere liberals or democrats.

His administration is filled with radical leftists as is the leadership of the dems in Congress, all who are hell bent to bring this country down and remake it into a “workers paradise”. Which means kill it, in my eyes. My concern is not for myself, but my children and grandson. I don't know how long you have lived, but probably no longer than I.

We can't afford to see the Obama machine succeed so that it might take a mighty fall. Some of what he want's to do is so damaging I think it may not be undoable. At least not before terrible damage is done and this country flounders in ways that we have not seen.

As I said in my earlier post, 2010 is key at the ballot box. This madness must be slowed if not stopped. And, as an American, to me it is madness. I know what a loyal American you are too. We have to take it back bit by bit, election by election.

I can't see watching our country go down the tubes just for the satisfaction of winning after the fact, and that's why I disagreed with Sniper. We have to begin winning next year, and do what we can to fight back now, in the meantime.

The problem is not with Obama, we have been afflicted with liberals in the White House and Congress for decades, yes, including Reagan, and both Bushes. It is dumbed down what conservative really means, and has generally trashed the constitution. Yes, Bush was a liberal, was even when he was governor of Tejas, (I was there). Oh yeah, he fought a war or two. Well so did President Johnson. They had something in common, they did not know how to fight it, which is typical.

I have lived long enough to learn that sometimes the cruelist, and most effective, thing you can do to someone is to let them do what they want to do. Now, would that have a devastating effect, you bet, but because what they want to do is so ridiculous, it would not be sustainable, and their collapse would be permanent. Trust me, a lot of people are in prison right now, because of letting them do exactly as the wanted.

To give up, and say who cares, is unacceptable. What we have to do is resist, resist, resist. We have to call our representatives, e-mail, and donate to candidates who demonstrate they are with us. If we have to we take to the streets. But, give up? Never! Get with it folks we have a fight on our hands. 2010 is the key.
