Juergen: Do you support reversing the phase-out of nuclear power? It seems to me perverse, to claim the world is coming to an end from global warming caused by man-made carbon dioxide, and then oppose nuclear power and, like Germany, phase out existing nuclear power plants.

One of the things we learned a few years back when the muslims were rioting and burning France and England was that the Mullahs were intructing muslims to live off the host country's welfare system. To work a job would be to help the infidel's economy.

I am from Germany, a reader of FPM for quite a time. What Laksin writes about the German elections is complete nonsense, garbage. Not a word is true. What sort of a journalist is he? The Social Democrats performed the hardest cut in welfare that was ever performed in this country. Merkel wouldn't have dared to do it. She is an opportunist, has no values at all besides beeing chancellor. The Germans didn't vote the SPD to punish her for the welfare cuts, not because of love for the free market. Merkel gave all the money to the banks. The FDP is a small party, meaningless. She was voted to punish Merkel. The orthodox left and the greens gained a lot of votes. Man, the lies of the left have been hard to bear, but the lies of the right, as this article gives proof, are just the same. bubba 4 has got it right.

Actually, making it less daunting to terminate a worker who does not perform. would be one measure. European employers are very reluctant to hire people unless absolutely necessary, due to the difficulties inherent in getting rid of them if they do not work out. Germany has had chronically high unemployment since the 70's, due to such policies. Also, as the author's post noted, companies increasingly outsource their functions, due to Germany's rigid labor force.

Major difference between here and Europe....
Europe's "right" would be drummed out of town as Communists by FPM. FPM and Laksin have no perspective on right/left.

Right on! Obama and the Leftists in his administration will not only ignore the German election, they will discredit Merkel should she distance herself from Obama's policies.

Isn.t it quite ironic that we have lagged behind so much the past 20 years that we have look to countries we helped bring democracy into their government.

We must now, ask them; "What are we doing wrong?"

I'm glad to hear Angela Merkel was reelected, but I wish Germany would renounce its phase-out of nuclear power.

Obama and the Leftists in his administration will ignore the German election. Cognitive dissonance. The facts don't fit in with his world view. The world wants freedom, not a nanny state. The Germans have come out of the financial crisis realizing this.
