This is Obama's first – last – and only chance to really earn that peace prize.

History is delivering right now – the only confluence of conditions we are likely ever to see to defeat the Taliban. A long overdue Pakistani resolve – based on outrage over the Taleban's attrocities over the last 3 years – to fight from the south. A beefed up Marine force to fight from the north.

Making the Taleban fight on two fronts – puts them in the same box as Hitler when he attacked Russia.

If Obama really wants to go down in history as a worthy recipient of his Nobel prize – he'd better smell the coffee and listen to Mccrhystal – and pour on the heat in Afghanistan.

Only when the Taleban have nowhere to run on either side of the border – can they be defeated.

My prediction ? He'll show his weakness by taking the middle-road with only a minor force buildup – and we'll be paying the tab with a never ending Taleban for decades to come – just when we actually might have gotten rid of it.

That's great! If Obama and McCrystal pull this off, they got my vote next year.

Really, I think the best thing for the Republicans is that they got out of Washington and went back to state and local government. The Dems can only do so much Gerrymandering.
