I found it interesting to see how they do it in countries in which the economic environment of AG doesn't require advance technology to compete:

For example, fruit and/or nut trees are spread out in rows much wider than ours --- maybe at least 20-30 feet apart.

In between these trees, they grow wheat with an occasional small vegetable plots with mixed vegetables.

What this does is provide an environment in which species can survive while naturally killing insects and disease.

When you go to a local village, you buy noodles and vegetables grown locally --- you can taste the difference.

We obviously can't do that and our system is better suited for our way of life and community structure.

What I'm suggesting is that we combine other means as described with advance growing techniques to develop a much better product that would be much healthier.

The left verses right politics combined with our economic constraints would make this too difficult.

I've been eating GM foods all my life, I used to often hunt on an experamental station as a kid, and snacked on the crops. I'm healthier than either of my parents were at my age, mostly because they had to cut back on salt and saturated fats while I was still a kid and I got used to it. Nothing wrong with my sperm count either, my little swimmers can break through knots to fertilize that egg.

It's the environuts who think the human population should be cut by half or more who are against effective pesticides and GM crops. They are the ones who are scaring ignorant people away from high yield crops they can grow locally, or the extra nourishment they provide. Which will kill these people first, starvation or an abundance of supposedly tainted crops? I'm betting starvation. They speed up the starvation proccess, by encourage marxism, like in Zimbabwe. Breadbasket to famine and widespread disease in under a decade.

If GM crops cause sterility, won't their developers be sued into oblivion? They likely will be, anyway.

Oh yea, communes, great idea. Give this, provide that(with what?), ban those, this all sounds familiar. We sure could have put that $980 million to better use though.

What are you talking about?

I said the upper middle class pays more!

I live in an upper class neighborhood and have kept my boat in the Port of L.A. which has some of the poorest communities.

I go to (I forgot what is called) on Anahiem blvd and pay half as much for vegetables as I do at home.

Maybe you missed my point.
I have been traveling for years and I see my family every few months.

The men and women that serve our country have similar schedules.

again you are making assumptions about my target market.

Maybe your circle of influence are soccer moms and maybe that is the bubble you live in --- I don't and I'm not trying to be too sarcastic.

I have successfully plan these missions before so I know what I'm doing.

I'll give you a few tips:

Don't bring construction materials or food and clothing across the border --- the Mexican immigration don't feel the love when you don't buy that stuff at their building supply yard and Costco.

For now on bring your passport

They are not familiar with our framing techniques in Southern California -- they build their residences out of stone, concrete, and block for the most part. Have the locals do the masonry and will frame the roof and build out the rest.

Your sponsor needs to be charity such as a church that is well connected to the local government. --- things go a lot smoother.

Anything else you would like to know just ask

Nobody here is denying that Hamas hates Jews and would prefer to take the land of Israel by means of killing Jews --- many of them seem to hate that much.

What I choose to address is why. their version

That's exactly what the Hamas Charter states.....just ask the Arab Christians that Hamas evicted because they were 'defying Islam.'

If you go to the poorest parts of L.A. and compare the cost of fresh vegetables to the
upper middle class, you will see, in some cases, a 100% mark-up."

We will see a 30% to 50% mark-up in most cases because the owners of the markets, liquor stores and drug stores have to hire more security than in rich areas. Ask the owners of stores in both locations, the police and the local neighbors of each store. But poor Americans are not the ones you want to help.

From what I gather from family, friends and neighbors recently unemployed, who can't pay all the bills, they have nothing against charity or trying to help Mexico but they don't want to leave home where they live with their families even if home is the local park.

A lack of clean water and food is not the reason the Palestinians murder their children.....most have that and the $1.3 billion that W gave them in Feb, '08 as a present for blowing up humans. They kill themselves and their children for the same reason as the upscale, upper-class al qaeda did 911=for Islam.

I've never been on one that pays. I know real missionaries make very little so what would be the point? --- it's not like we are trying to make money on the charity end of a good marketing plan.

no no -- you got it wrong.

It is the commerce with community of people you are trying to help that generates business.

It is common knowledge to develop a linking public relations plan to your target market. Once I train these men to work on these international projects, I will be able to solicit this projects to foreign investors such as the Chinese.

Another PR plan I have is with the Chinese. They are starting to show a great deal of interest in baseball.

Sense I'm already in the market for a Chinese architect for some potential, I decided interlink a baseball school for 12 to 14 yr olds (a prime athletic development age) to Chinese construction professionals that want to succeed in the States as an Architect/engineer while designing my clients Chinese restaurant chain.

Maybe you can give me some suggestions Linda --- you sound very brilliant.

Did I use the wrong sense again?

I forgot to mention about your narrow focus on my target market --- there at least as many tradesmen that have had to lower their standard of living through mediocre part time work in their profession. So short term trips would be therapeutic to their condition--- as described, they would start off short term missions south of the border.
How about the ones that already lost their house, maybe their marriage, you would deny them this restoration of their soul?

To AlFranken1

I re-read your post. I had only ever heard of church groups going to Mexico strictly as volunteers and not being paid. However, very large churches could pay. Have you tried contacting the large churches with your excellent suggestion?

To AlFranken1

I'm extremely puzzled by your P.S: 'Try responding to my comment directly -- it gives you more credibility.' I indeed responded to your comment by your NAME! I can't get more direct than that!

I was unaware that you are out of work. I am so extremely sorry that you and your friends are jobless. I hope that you will all get work very soon.

Teaching people to help themselves is wonderful and the only way to go. And if you and your friends are able to do that, it would be fantastic!

I am very sad for the people in America who are homeless and now living in tent cities. It is homeless Americans who are in desperate need of help. You misunderstood me. I actually meant to provide the homeless with setting up FARM communities where they could support themselves and live off the land. I was not referring to garden plots.

Have a good week!

You should go back and read the part where I stated "local"

If mega church's want to give me money for local projects only then so be it. The problem is our advance agriculture system and land use doesn't really work with my plan.

Also, 3rd world countries such as China are still using human labor which accommodates such a plan

Also, if you read the part where I stated " help those to help themselves" then I'm fixing what you are complaining about. If I'm teaching them to help themselves then they don't need to depend on you and therefore charities can focus on your priorities.

Regarding your idea of giving land to homeless Americans. First of all, that is already in action and it isn't working very well. There are garden plots in major cities all over and they have turned into hobbies rather than dependent on food.

Most affordable small plots are in the Bible belt and they don't seem to want to give them up. Many small plots are used to preserve wild life in which the NRA sponsors for their sport ( I'm a member of the NRA and I support that)

People can not grow food and reasonably compete with big Ag.

If you go to the poorest parts of L.A. and compare the cost of fresh vegetables to the
upper middle class, you will see, in some cases, a 100% mark-up.

Also, let us not forget the subsidies that large Ag get from the Federal Govt.
That offsets cheap produce from competing countries and self growers.

Farmers of small plots depend on bartering and the variables go against that.

Another thing --- I'm a building contractor with over 25 years in my field.
I know the situation with my industry being one of the top three industries hit by this recession ( manufacturing and banking/real estate being the others). On top of it, I live in one of the worse hit states of the union-- California

So you want you preach to me about these guys when I'm one of them?

I have two small children and a wife that can't work and all my friends are suffering.

All we have is each other. We know much better than you what we need and many agree with me.

Regarding charity to Hamas, I would be likely to give them this education and technology if they needed it.

If they could properly feed their children and have access to clean water, then they would less likely be subjugated to strap bombs to their children ( which hasn't happened in quite a while now). -- Just a few propelled rockets here and there that's all.

I'm on the conservatives side on many issues but as you can see, not all.
