is this what you want, for your family?

you say we should all learn and grow and teach. well, that's all fine by me, but what if they don't want to be taught? what if they think their way is better? are you going to force them to learn? or force us to accept their way of life for the sake of peace? how is this going to take place? will we all suddenly realize we were wrong to worship one god or another, and have a sing-a-long by the fire?

you talk of excuse swords to fall on. many would say that christianity has some of the same faults that islam does. however, we live in a country that allows us to worship however we wish. can you do that in most muslim countries? i can give you a list of the countries where it's illegal to be christian, if you like. even a few news stories about how christians are treated in muslim countries, where it is allowed. they'll shock you, i promise.

it's all fine and well to criticize a country or a religion where you have such freedom to do so, but just try that in the middle east.

if you truly believe that we can all get along if we just learn better, when are you going to the middle east to explain to them why they should ignore their religion, ignore the koran, and why they should stop suicide bombings? i promise, i'll be the first to send flowers.

some things need to be called what they are, evil. my religion and the usa might not be perfect, but i don't force people to join it. at what point will you admit that while philosophy is a wonderful thing, there are practical problems we need to face?

how many teachers is it going to take? when are you going to become a missionary for whatever religion you subscribe to and go out among the masses, spreading the good word that we don't have to have wars anymore? when the poo hits the fan, will you be in tehran, telling an angry crowd they are wrong? or will you be here, in the usa, where you won't be attacked for saying it, telling us we are wrong?

do you just feel this is right for you to say, that we should all be buddies? or do you have the conviction to be a martyr for your cause? or do you hope to convince others to do it for you?

as for your comments about the government, they have overstepped their bounds. they have trampled upon the state's rights, and ours also. they have tossed the constitution out the window. thankfully, i live in a nation where it's perfectly legal to say that.

[T]he fact that he was an officer in the Army, with full access to a military base and its arsenal of weapons, while holding the views he did, is the first indication of a laxity in security under President Obama.
He is a psychiatrist, not a combat soldier. He had no access to any 'arsenal”.

This also shows the civilian's unrealistic view of the military. There is virtually no one carrying weapons and live ammo at the base outside of the civilian police and those on the training ranges. The rest of the time weapons are secured and ammo even more so.

“are you serious?” is a good question. There are few who would suggest as you say “that if we lay down our arms…” and apologize..the Muslims will “start tearing up and hug us…” other than say, Jesus, Muhammad or a few others.

Some of us say we are Christian, but Jesus would likely ask “What is this Christianity you speak of ?” because he would not recognize much of what some say and do in his name.

Your “clue” is correct in that some in fact do “hate us”, however it is not the “they” you and so many others are so obsessed with to make it easier for us to hate “them”. If you read the military intelligence, and have listened to the political rhetoric of the last eight years, you will know that we are not fighting a nation OR a religion. It is a few extremists who have sucked us into this forever war that we nor they will ever win by shooting, bombing, assassinating and maiming each other for generations to come. They think they have no way of dealing with a nation such as ours, much like you or I feel in terms of dealing with the Federal government in solving issues which face us here.

So they are stuck in the frame of mind that the only way to be heard is through violence. And we are unfortunately still no further in too many ways.

If nothing else should convince you of this, the facts that the British Empire and the nation of Russia could NOT bring resolve by these methods and we, the most powerful nation to ever exist militarily have been at it FOR EIGHT YEARS. Longer than WWII or Viet Nam. And there are ALL KINDS OF EXCUSE swords we can fall on. NONE of them solve the conflict. They merely EXTEND it to your children and grandchildren.

Is that what you want for your family? I doubt it.

You have given all the reasons anyone would have in their culture for generations a reason to hate this nation . “the crusades” is only a beginning point for this nation to continue the economic plunder of the greed we have for consuming everything in sight.

You have given the reason our military strength is not working. It only inspires the terrorists to be more deviously creative.

You may think your road to hell is paved with good intentions, but all of the spiritual wisdom of the ages says that we have created our own hell on earth with the “eye for and eye” philosophy. Thankfully, some have learned and taught better ways to solve conflict. It is up to us to grow up and learn and teach those ways instead of continuing to teach killing someone actually solves a problem, even if the other has not yet learned it.

allow me to clue you in on something. they hate us. for whatever reason, be it one from the crusades, or because their religion demands that they subjugate the world in the glory of allah, they hate us. maybe not all of them, but enough of them do to scare the rest into following them, or at least allowing them to control things.

they don't stop attacking because someone else is stronger. they just attack in a different way, to achieve their goal of a muslim world.

the road to hell is paved with good intentions…in this case, political correctness will be our downfall. our hell will be the choice of submitting to islam, or fighting it.
