Bear in mind that the Colombian army is battle-hardened by decades of increasingly successful counter-insurgency and armed to the teeth - not with showy and untested Russian weapons systems, but with American weaponry that has proved its effectiveness in years of war. Personally, I dearly hope that Chavez goes to war; but I doubt he would be so stupid.

You may be right about Barry, note that he couldn't find the time to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Berlin wall coming down.
As for Chavez, the only supporters he can count on in a hot war would be Cuba and Nicaragua, and I'm not too sure about Cuba. Russia would never stick their neck out for that clown, their loyalty ends when the money stops flowing for arms, knowing the Russians they would probably sell to both sides. In spite of what the article claimed the Russians keep the best and latest hardware for themselves, then they sell the junk to guys like Chavez, Saddam, and other third world tin pots.

Would the Man-Child even lift a finger to help Colombia? Of course not, he'd withdraw all American forces at the first real hint of war.
What everyone can be sure of is Cuban, Iranian, Russian, Ecuadorian, Nicaraguan, ETC. support for the clown.
Nothing to poo-poo here, this is eventually going to be serious stuff if it ain't already.

What CHAVEZ is doing is to conjure a storm in a glass of water, for the consumption of his henchmen but he doesn`t fool anybody except plain morons...

He knows damned well his armed forces are no match for the Colombian Army, honed for years in the fight against the murderous FARC guerrilla.
When he recently ordered an armored brigade to the Colombian border to invade Colombia, only two tanks got there, without supplies or ammunition (for fear of being used against him instead) and communication was via cellphone, as the tank radios were kaput, which prompted him to send one of his Generals (Generals and Admirals who haven`t fought even with their wives, let alone enemy armies) to purchase $45M worth of new communication equipment for his tanks...

His blatant meddling in the Honduran presidential crisis, first with the "referendum" Trojan horse with which ZELAYA tried to bypass the constitutional ban on reelection (and which the other supergenius, Nobel "Piss" laureate Costa Rica`s President ARIAS termed "unconstitutional" BECAUSE ALL OF CENTRAL AMERICA DANCES AT THE TUNE OF CHAVEZ`s OIL BLACKMAIL) referendum for which CHAVEZ provided all the polling material, transported by Venezuelan military aircraft and footing the bill for all of ZELAYA`s mobilizations after his expelling, all the way to his attempt of landing on Honduras capital airport on board of a Venezuelan airplane...

What irks CHAVEZ is that he was unable to restore his puppet and accomplice in the drug trafficking, as it is well known Honduras under ZELAYA was a transfer point for the drug coming on small aircraft and that the AWACS presence in Colombia will difficult the flights of drug hauling aircraft from Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia and even Venezuela...

This is the Trojan horse of a "CHANGE" Venezuelans voted for in 1998, Castro sold the Cubans in 1959 and Obama the USA 11 months ago
