I'm with bubba—dial down the volume on those hostility metaphors! Whew. You ought to get with BigElk and write a screenplay. Here's an idea to get you started:

A bunch of evil liberals are conspiring to try and sell Alaska back to the Russians. With Sarah Palin still in it! They' want to take the profits and donate them to Acorn. But they get caught in an alley by a group of wandering Fox News panelists who open a can of righteous 'whip-a**' on them. But they start whining and give up like a bunch of New-left Nancies. So…then they…you get the drift.

where is the tipping point? With politics, sedition….when. the problem with your fresh air analogy is that the sunlight and oxygen needed to cleanse that foot fungus itself is polluted (brain washing through education system, media, popular culture, activist judges etc…). How does the clean sun and air- clean the 80 % polluted education system, and the 95% polluted media etc…
I really doubt these polls of increasing % against the Democrats/Obama is a sign of clear understanding of politics and ideology/worldview but more like selfish survival against the horrible economy and draconian obama taxes. Not that self survival is bad.

Well..I don't have to be saddled with one extreme or the other. Everything in this world has some bias. If you write and article, the very choice of your adjectives and sentence structure will lean a certain way…the “take” of the author.

Bush took a lot of heat over his eight years, but you don't think his actions, policies, and words had something to do with that? Besides, he had a couple of years there were the media basically gave him a pass and helped drive the American opinion towards war.

I think we need to draw a distinction between legitimate news outlets and opinion/editorial/punditry. They are not the same things even if some would love to blur the lines even more.

FPM for instance is top-to-bottom opinion articles. These guys can write whatever they want. Horowitz's “Discover the Network”…he can put anything in there to. FPM isn't the only one…but some of these outlets push one consistent narrative and they hang everything on this…. US vs THEM….Capitalism vs. Communism…so someone has to take the Communist position in this false dichotomy. Awww…sorry Obama…its all yours.

BTW: I think CBS was well within it's rights to fire Rather and he and his producer both were humiliated…but this is a different subject.
