As reported last night on “The O’Reilly Factor”, some Leftists are so angry at Senator Joe Lieberman for blocking the public health insurance option that they are taking it out on his wife, Hadassah Lieberman. They are trying to get her fired from her position as “Global Ambassador” for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest source of non-profit funds devoted to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
Here is how one Netroots website, Firedoglake, put it:
People who are racing for the cure wouldn’t be racing to pay Hadassah Lieberman money.
In other words, attack the wife and try to get her fired because of the position that her husband takes on a political issue. Whatever happened to women’s liberation? Why should Hadassah be punished for her husband’s position on health care and deprive breast cancer of a powerful voice to help raise funds to fight this dread disease?
The answer is that, as usual, the Left does not care about individuals. All that matters is their agenda to radically transform our economic system into a more socialistic model.
Fortunately for the individuals who have to deal with breast cancer, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has its priorities straight and is not bowing to the Left’s demands to fire Ms. Lieberman.
