“There has been no violence related to this incident and we trust this will be resolved through peaceful diplomacy between the governments of Iraq and Iran,” a US military spokesman told AFP at Contingency Operating Base Adder, just outside the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah.

“The oil field is in disputed territory in between Iranian and Iraqi border forts,” he said, adding that such incidents occur quite frequently.

An official of the state-owned South Oil Co in the southeastern city of Amara, and west of the field, said: “An Iranian force arrived at the field early this morning (Friday).

“It took control of Well 4 and raised the Iranian flag even though the well lies in Iraqi territory,” the official added.

And Obama will do nothing about it?

We have had over ten years to put an end to Iran's nuclear weapon's production but have chosen appeasement and UN sanctions, which add up to diddley squat. There is still time to use conventional ordinance to turn Iran's nuclear weapons facilities into smoking rubble.....but it is very unlikely this Administration will do anything. The previous administration was worried about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but tended to ignore the much greater threat: Iran. The Iranian people detest the mullah dictatorship, and they should get our support...however, the nuclear weapons issue is too critical for delay.....sorry, but it's shake and bake time. Once terrorist maniacs get a nuke and it goes off in Paris, London or New York, it will be TOO LATE>.......then the weeping, moaning and rage will erupt...."Why didn't we do something?"

An Iranian nuke would be the Sharia nuke, and that would be the biggest destabilizer in world history. Game set and match is to keep Sharia countries from getting nukes, because it's likely that once one gets them they'll hand them to all the others. Study Islam's history and get a clue. http://go.to/islamhistory

Why we should strike now.
On December 14, 2001, former president Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani famously declared, "The use of an atomic bomb against Israel would totally destroy Israel, while the same against the Islamic world would only cause damage. Such a scenario is not inconceivable." On February 14, 2005, Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer Kharrazi, secretary general of Iranian Hezbollah, said, "We are able to produce atomic bombs and we will do that. We shouldn't be afraid of anyone. The U.S. is not more than a barking dog." More at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2009/10...
