The fact that people like Ayers and Dorhn and Hayden are still in the public sphere is a testament to the tolerance of this greatest and most benevolent of nations. The very regimes that these ingrates were actively supporting would have had them exterminated had they tried the same tactics there.

Outrider, As a child of the "60's" I can tell you we ruined this country, the drugs , sex and rock and roll brought us into the gutter. The low life' s like Ayers, Dohrn and the rest of their ilk thought they were in the majority and could do as they pleased. Look what we have writ large in society and government in what is the Greatest most caring country in the world. God Bless America, the "60's" almost destroyed the greatest nation on earth!

The New Left consisted of a bunch of spoiled rotten rich kids guided by pruny old Marxists who transferred their hatred of "daddy" (for not letting them play anyway they wanted or do anything they wanted) to the "Establishment", which also had certain rules it required people to operate by. Their claim of "moral highground" and "peace" was a sham, because thesemindless brats really didn't give a damn about other people. They thought North Vietnamese slaughtering other Vietnamese, Laotians, and Cambodians was fine as long as the religion of Mao was established. They only protested the U.S. government's role. They didn't want to participate. They would have protested any unpleasant thing they were asked to do, like working for a living. That was our generation Horowitz, and we know about everything there is to know about it. We also know they were a small minority which made a lot of noise and got a lot of media coverage, which they loved. What are they all doing now? They run the Democrats, the universities and the media right in the sewer.

If only the same brilliance and talent for the written word had been used for the Conservative cause during the same time frame, surely our world would be a better and much less screwed up place today.

BTW, I was ridiculed every time over the last 20-25 years when I would state that the 1960's ruined America. Sometimes surprising how completely many people just don't get it...
