I really do not think the issue should be over whose lies are worse or which party lies more. Lying or "flip-flopping" on issues with all politicians of every stripe (well in America: two) needs to be addressed as a whole. If all we do when confronted with a liar is say well that guy lied more and then allow your attention to be re-directed to who is a bigger liar, than you accomplish nothing. If I was found guilty of lying I would love it if all I had to do was claim someone else lied more to get the pressure off of me.

It appears that the majority of them lie and get away with it. Unfortunately, many of us will identify with a political party when addressing this topic. And as a result will either defend or attack rather than dealing with the issue objectively. If you consider yourself a democrat you do not have to act as though you are personally insulted if others are questioning the integrity of Obama and of course, the same can be said for those consider themselves Republicans – check out Romney's lies and dramatic flip-flops.

That fact is they lie and get away with it because they can. And we allow them to get away with it when our attention is so easily distracted. As corny as it sounds divided we stand and united we fall. Don't let any of them get away with it. Ultimately, unless we hold them all to the fire, they will continue to do what got them elected in the first place: snow us and in the end serve their corporate puppet masters and special interests. Both parties are guilty of that.

The President needs to be reminded of some words of wisdom that were spoken back in March of 2006. The words were as true then as they are today.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
