The sentence for a U.S. soldier who says he killed an al-Qaida operative in self-defense has been reduced by the Army Clemency Board from 20 to 15 years, according to a statement released by supporters of 1st Lt. Michael Behenna.

The focal point of the arguments has been a statement by a witness for the prosecution that Behenna's own description of shooting the al-Qaida operative in self-defense was the only explanation supported by the facts.

The issue is raising concern because of the decision by the prosecution to not only exclude the statement from the case but withhold it from the defense until after the conviction.

"Yet it is still hard to believe that this wonderful young man who fought so bravely for his country could sit behind bars until he turns 40 years of age. I promise you that our fight for him will not end until Michael is free once more."

An Irvine man who says he worked as an undercover informant for the FBI, most notably as a Muslim convert in an anti-terrorism case, filed a lawsuit Friday accusing his law enforcement handlers of violating his civil rights and endangering his life.

Monteilh alleges that the FBI essentially cut him loose after a supervisor bungled an operation that would have led to the discovery of "bomb making materials" in a Tustin mosque. Afterward, the lawsuit alleges, his FBI handlers reneged on a promise to implement an "exit strategy" that was to include back pay and severance pay and help with beginning a life with a new identity.

"The government will have the opportunity to defend the lawsuit in court," FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said in a prepared statement. "However, the accusations appear to be desperate attempts by Mr. Monteilh to personally benefit at the expense of law enforcement officers and the Muslim American community."

While I was in the States, I was very alarmed at the number of Muslims inside USA, but you guys were like "Hey, everyone are welcome !"

I am a Catholic from Malaysia, an Islamic country. I know Muslims very well because every single day I have to interact with them.

The "Islamic network" that I have been introduced to, while I was in the United States — I came from Malaysia and that somehow makes me "acceptable" to those Muslims — was vast, and they have feelers everywhere.

From Libya to Zambia to Iran to Malaysia to Syria to Lebanon to Kuwait to Pakistan to Sudan to … you just name the country they have "representatives" in the network, and their reach is incredible.

I was in Texas when I was first introduced to the network. But when I went to California and Wyoming to New York, "representatives" from that network got in touch with me, as I was considered as a "friend" and they took good care of me.

That was in the 1980's.

30 years have passed and who knows how much that "network" has grown. And all these 30 years, you guys have let it grew and grew and never even care.

That is what had gone very wrong !

Now you have over 2 Million Muslims inside the United States, how are you going to know who will do what?

Answer: the US government on both counts. Both terrorists did what they did because the government we're begging to "save us" failed to connect any dots, just as they did at 9/11. They are also the ones who are (conveniently) producing the "evidence" that ties these peopel together, making idiots like most of the commenters here beg them to "save us" from the terrorists.

Why are you people so blind as to go begging the persons at fault for these acts to come and save you from future terror? Obviously, the problem here is the government's inability to do anything at all about these problems. It's not the Muslims or evil Islam (who has left us alone until recently, when our government began meddling in their affairs). It's government itself that's to blame.

Wake up, you morons. Your Republicans, Democrats, or whoever else you elect into office are part of the problem. It's time to stop begging government for solutions and start telling govenrment to shove off.

took a Muslim group with known past ties to terror organizations on a VIP tour of security operations at the nation's busiest airport at the same time British authorities were working to break up a plot to blow up U.S. airlines.

On June 21, a senior DHS official from Washington personally guided Muslim officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations on a behind-the-scenes tour of Customs screening operations at O'Hare International Airport in response to CAIR complaints that Muslim travelers were being unfairly delayed as they entered the U.S. from abroad.

CAIR is a spin-off of the Islamic Association for Palestine, identified by two former FBI counterterrorism chiefs as a "front group" for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

Several CAIR leaders have been convicted on terror-related charges.

During the airport tour, CAIR was taken on a walk through the point-of-entry, Customs stations, secondary screening and interview rooms. In addition, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents were asked to describe for CAIR representatives various features of the high-risk passenger lookout system.
