Iran Revolution day protests: Islamic Republic now a nuclear state – Mail Online

Posted by Bio ↓ on Feb 11th, 2010

Iran is now a “nuclear state,” President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced this morning.

As Gordon Brown warned that the world's patience is wearing thin, Ahmadinejad told scores of cheering Iranians that the Islamic Republic is capable of producing weapons-grade uranium.

He spoke as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Tehran to mark the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

Despite fears of violence, opposition supporters found themselves largely overwhelmed by the clerical regime and pro-government demonstrators.

The massive security clampdown appeared to succeed in preventing protesters from converging into a cohesive demonstrations.

Large numbers of riot police, members of the Revolutionary Guard and Basij militiamen, some on motorcycles, deployed in back streets near key squares and major avenues in the capital to move against protesters.

  1. Adam C. Sieracki says:

No shock, here. Iran never had any need to aquire nuclear technology, for any purpose other than bombmaking. (Iran's oil industry flares more Joules of casinghead gas than its domestic energy use.)

What's depressing is how many in the Iranian expat community (including here, in Canada) support the Islamic regime. While some of these folks are Shah-era emmigres, many came here recently. This is a potentially dangerous 5th Column. Canadian, British and U.S. security forces should keep an eye on the 'Persian Mafia', if NATO comes to blows with Iran.

    • Aoun Hussain says:

How can u say that Iran has no need to aquire nuclear technology.Only America and Israel has need..Superpowers can do what they want but Iran cannot. Is this Justice?

  2. Willie Getts says:

This is a great wealth of information that you are providing for free. I need to bookmark this web site so I can comeback later and remain in touch with any future updates.

  3. I remember when Iran became a Muslim prison for its population, the figures that
I recall of those who were working for the Shah of Iran approximately
one million people, were executed. There were warehouses of bodies on metal
racks, all killed for their association to the Shah. All these years later and how
many hidden deaths, how many tortured human beings destroyed by the
Islamist madmen. Over thirty years of screaming death to America the great Satan.
Now that they are closer to weapons of mass destruction, aliances with our
enemies and Turkey now leaning their way can we ignore the consistant threats?
If so why so and if not what will be done, so far the Obama crew is clueless.
Israel with Egypt gone is encircled and we are torn apart by leftist subversion,
not a pretty picture, every day becomes more and more dangerous without
any plan of action or understanding of the need to act.
