Newsweek Exclusive: Christopher Hitchens Hates Sports, Doesn’t “Believe in Miracles”

Christopher, why don’t you tell us what you really think about sporting events because I don’t believe your latest Newsweek piece, “Fool’s Gold,” did the job.
With trademark flourish, you revealed a portfolio of the world’s worst behavior, decrying sports competition as the catalyst.  As your subtitle stated,
How the Olympics and other international competitions breed conflict [...]

Ariz. Father who murdered daughter in honor killing will not face death penalty so that “there is no appearance that a Christian is seeking to execute a Muslim”

Faleh Almaleki murdered his daughter. He admits he killed her. But his attorney so skillfully played the race/religion card, prosecutors are afraid a death sentence would be labeled as a move prompted by Islamophobia, rather than justice.

I just returned from CPAC – you can find some details about it here — and saw Gloria Allred on TV again. She was on some panel with five other people yapping about the Tiger Woods debacle. The five other people had the wisdom to shake their heads at this pitiful excuse for a woman [...]

Arizona: Father who murdered daughter in honor killing will not face death penalty so that “there is no appearance that a Christian is seeking to execute a Muslim”

Faleh Almaleki murdered his daughter, but we wouldn’t want to appear Islamophobic. Would a non-Muslim who ran down his daughter in a car be spared the death penalty? Do you wonder about the answer? “Dad accused in ‘honor killing’ will not face death penalty,” by Dustin Gardiner in The Arizona…
