With that line up of authors, is it any wonder they concluded that the alarmists are way smarter than the skeptics? Yet, you might be wondering, what criteria did they use to “prove” their point? The answer: the alarmists publish more papers than skeptics! Could that fact have anything to do with this sort of attitude:
“I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow – even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!”
That’s Dr. Phil Jones of climategate fame, writing to a colleague in a 2004 e-mail. Lest you believe that Jones e-mail is an isolated example or mere bluster, take a gander at this post from Dr. Roger Pielke, who was identified by Schneider, et al as a skeptic. In fact, Pielke believes that humans do significantly influence the climate, but that our influence is far more complex and nuanced than alarmists would lead us to believe. (For the record, I am not convinced by, but very much respect, Dr. Pielke’s theories). Here’s what Pielke had to say about the publication process in today’s partisan environment:
“I have served as Editors of several professional journals (e.g. Chief Editor of the Monthly Weather Review; Co-Chief Editor of the Journal of Atmospheric Science) and can categorically state that any Editors who have “formed a resistance to outside points of view” should not serve in the capacity of an Editor. This is a clear example of the type of prejudice that needs to be avoided in order to preserve the integrity of the scientific process.
John Christy is correct in his statement in the news article that there is “black listing” and my son’s post effectively summarizes this issue.”
To summarize: having bastardized the scientific method to the point that scientists who have contrary opinions regarding so-called climate change are routinely denied access to scientific publications, a quartet of alarmists published a study that concludes that the skeptics inability to break through that wall of censorship demonstrates their incompetence. Lovely. And, as icing on the cake, Prall has even published a comprehensive list of skeptical scientists on-line. Not sure what you’d call it, but that sure looks a lot like a blacklist to me. Somewhere, Joe McCarthy is smiling.
In a way, the publication of a blacklist and of such a ludicrous, transparently biased study should warm a skeptic’s heart. Ever since climategate broke, the zealots have suffered humiliation and embarrassment time and again. The mood of the nation has changed and the alarmists know it. Publishing a research paper that purports to validate the hypothesis “we’re right because we say we are” seems to be an act of desperation. Whatever this study was, it sure wasn’t science.
Someone should do a study on which "camp" still has their data, use standard methodologies, and draw reasonable conclusions.
It is too late – it is all partisan politics now. That's just the problem.
To do what you suggest ( which is a description of what science should be and why I went into it as a field of work) one would have to be OBJECTIVE.
Climate changer/warming types are not objective.
Climate change is about redistribution of wealth (and about the profits of a few at the top rather than actually helping any downtrodden class). It was never about science.
Following the link to the list of skeptics reveals some interesting tidbits. There are very few of the 496 listed that have any affiliation with "big oil"; an impressive array of disciplines; a total of 6,759 works on climate from those 496 "skeptics"; and I didn't make the list (lol).
Today the weather reporting was soo confused, as in: "It is so very warm across the country! but, well … oh yes, it's summer. That could explain some of it but it's still unusually warm"….type of jargon.
Sheesh. I am guessing they don't see the humor in their own reporting.

Climate change is junk science pure and simple. Climate change belivers are cherry picking evidence to fit their preconcieved conclusion instead of drawing a conclusion from the evidence.
I have maintained for many years that the results of the vast majority of scientific studies are predetermined by the researcher. I mean, how do they make a name for themselves, certainly not by doing a study that fails to make a splashy point. The warmers are exhibit one. Analysis of the internals of their alarmist models shows how they make their points by selecting data, and warping the calculations to make their silly projections. They don't even meet the criteria of a simple energy balance.

Gerhard Gerlich is a German scientist who has refuted many of the basic assumptions climate modelers use when modeling the thermodynamics of climate. From these models come the projections of future high temperatures and other catastrophes. The climate models are the altars at which this very closed group of global warming proponents worship.

The most fatal fraud in the GWT theory, is that they have forgotten some basic common sense physics that every one should learn from elementary school. Radiation is NOT the only way heat can be dissipated! There is radiation, convection, and evaporation. The high air is at sub-zero temperature so it could not radiate in short wavelengths like visible light. It can only radiate in long wavelengths. But the only gases that can radiate in long wavelengths are also the gases that absorb such wavelengths, i.e., green house gases. So, the matter of the fact is the green house gases not only does NOT trap heat on the ground. It actually HELPS to keep the ground cool by actively radiate away the large amount of heat brought up to the high air by ground water evaporation and air circulation. The high air is a heat sink that sucks heat away from the ground. And the green house gases keep that heat sink cold so it can continue to suck heat away from the ground. Green house gases cause global cooling, not global warming!!!
If, in 1940, you were to look at the professional qualifications of brain surgeons performing lobotomies versus brain surgeons who opposed lobotomy you would probably find the lobotomists were both more numerous and more "qualified".

Those who denied the efficacy of lobotomies in treating mental illness were very much in the minority, however, they were right and, lucky for us, they prevailed.
