Casualties of a Race War

He wasn’t referring to issues that today threaten the prosperity, safety and integrity of the “black community” far more than does “the beast”: high urban dropout rates; the opposition to vouchers, which allows the continued near monopoly of underperforming inner-city government schools; the inability of workers to deposit their Social Security contributions into personal savings and investment accounts; teen pregnancy; never-wed fathers and never-wed mothers dependent upon government; the misguided endorsement of race-based college admissions, which lead to a disproportionately high dropout rate; and crime.

The leadership of the NAACP chooses to remain in a time warp.

Its use of the race card as a weapon and a shield is cynical and manipulative, designed to keep the organization in the headlines without the need to redefine its priorities and policies.

In the ’60s, NAACP member Prentice McKinney fought for civil rights in Milwaukee. “Back then,” he said, “the enemy was clear; it was white racists and racist police officers. It was a legalized system of segregation. And so the challenge was between the white establishment and the African-American population.” But after a long and often ugly struggle for racial equality, this is a different and better America. “Today,” McKinney said, “the African-American population is being destroyed by its own youth … an enemy from within. You have a population of older African-Americans … who are now afraid of the children in their own neighborhoods.” Addressing this is hard. It invites an accusation of “blaming the victim.” Far easier to cry, “Racism!”

In 1911, Booker T. Washington said:

“There is (a) class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. … There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.”

Some things never change. Some people don’t want them to.

So, does Mr. Bond believe that "content of character" has no standing in society?

    May I suggest a different approach –
Americans need to be able to hold elected officials to the campaign promises they make by contract that states that to break more than 2 major promises means they lose the office they were elected to (we can make exceptions for new situations that require emergency action) . Part 2 follows.

    Part 2
While many of us realized just what a fraud Comrade Obama was & is – the man got into office, the votes he received are questionable but he's in, & he's in despite his refusal to prove he's a natural born American citizen or an American citizen at all.

80% of Jews in America voted for Comrade Obama, 50% of those who voted for him would not do so again. One wonders why so many voted for him to begin with – but the answer seems to be because he had Rahm & Axelrod at his side – dumb reasoning!

Now the majority of voters are realizing what those of us who do not lean left knew to begin with – & they have buyer's remorse. There's no easy way out without a contract signed in advance by all candidates as suggested above. Part 3 follows.

Nahhhh….the reason they voted for him and others on the left : They are Democrats. Liberals would vote for a log if it ran as a Democrat. They would vote for a donkey if it ran as a Democrat. End of story.

We have another serious problem with elected officials that needs attention: that's of socialists, marxists, communists and progressives holding office. You can not subscribe to these forms of communism and keep your oath to uphold 'the republic for which we stand'

Demonstrations of an aligence to a form of goverment other than our republic must be ban people from holding public office, working for our government in any position and working in positions where the goal is to subvert our republic.

    Think about it.

Booker T. Washington perfectly described the Democratic party (and the NAACP) in the last quote. He knew what was going on just as my many black conservative friends know that the Democrats are no friends of minorities.

WRT crying "racist", one would think one could cry "wolf" only so many times; but one would be wrong.

  7. USMCSniper says:

American blacks tend to be tribalists with race baiters as their leaders, so anyone that goes against the tribe is an Uncle Tom. David had it right years ago with "Hating Whitey" and that is what the NAACP is all about.
