The Peace Delusion

These are supposed to be “peace talks,” but history tells us that any discussion between Israel and those representing Palestinian interests are better characterized as “piece talks,” since the objective always seems to be taking away another part of Israel. Having given away the Sinai peninsula and the Gaza strip, as well as effectively ceding control of the West Bank to Fatah, Israel is no nearer to mollifying its  enemies than ever. And what does Israel have to show for its sacrifices? A very tenuous relationship with Egypt and Jordan and not much else.

Yet, once again, international pressure has been used to force the sovereign state of Israel back to a bargaining table where it is supposed to agree to even more concessions. This is a death by a thousand cuts, which will serve Israel’s enemies just as well as anything that murderous fanatics like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can come up with to eliminate the state they loathe. It is hard to envision a true, lasting peace in the Middle East given the ideological divide that separates Judaism and Islam. Still, if there is any chance at all that a Palestinian state and Israel could co-exist side by side in harmony, that theoretical relationship shouldn’t require Israel to do anything more or promise anything more than it has already done and promised. What is vitally needed is for “moderate” Islamic leaders to officially recognize that terrorist organizations like Hamas are misguided malefactors pursuing a reprehensible agenda. Leaders like Abbas, Mubarak and Abdullah won’t take that step, either because they quietly sympathize with Hamas’ goals, or – more likely in my opinion – because they are afraid of the violent consequences that would follow if they condemned the terrorist organization.

Palestinians and their apologists understand all too well how this particular game is played. So long as they continue to assume the role of an oppressed, aggrieved minority, they can continue to pressure Israel into making concession after concession that effectively threaten to put the nation’s existence in more and more jeopardy. For the most part, the world sympathizes with the Palestinian cause. The most significant and powerful exception has been the United States, at least until Barack Obama took office. Now, Israel’s many enemies have been emboldened by the sort of American president they have always hoped for: a man who pays lip-service to the importance of Israel, but who simultaneously sends signal after signal that he sympathizes with Israel’s opponents.

    No additional concessions
Israel cannot survive by accommodating a lynch mob. Only by having the courage to defy it. When the international community at the behest of the Muslim lynch mob dictates the parameters of Israel's survival, it must expand those parameters by pushing through them to the other side. If they want to recognize terrorists, then we kill those terrorists. If they want to break the Gaza blockade, THEN WE RETAKE GAZA. If they want to unilaterally create a Palestinian state, then we annex those territories. Accommodation is a noose. Defiance is the air of freedom. Every time Israel retreats, it is condemned for it. When it advances, it is condemned for it also, but its freedom of action expands. More at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2010/09/d…

    Israel wake up!
Every threat that has been made has come about when Israel made concessions, not because it refused to. Every time Israel has chosen the high road, its enemies have ambushed it from the low road. It's past time to wake up and start learning some lessons. More at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2010/06/d…

The response to the last Mideast Peace initiative during the Clinton administration was Intifada II. The PLA will never be satisfied with just a little more land. They want all the land. Hamas wants all the Jews gone.

Even if hudna were possible, Israel would get no cooperation from Hamas or Hezbollah.
The intifada against the Jewish state would still go on ad nauseum.

The best thing that the Israelis could do for themselves is to say enough is enough. No more land for peace scams. Then tell Hillary that her "smart diplomacy" is just a synonym for cranial rectal disease.

It is truly irrelevant to consider the aggregate that met in Washingon, "leaders" of standing. The islamic fellow is not even a legally elected holder of the PLO Office he posts as his title. His tenure ended a year or so ago.
Soetoro is not precisely a credible sponsor other than a sponsor for islamic jihad..
Netanyahu… well that is a number… :) Barak is his closest clone.

After several years of preparation and re formulations we are now launching the NANA TEA PARTY of ISRAEL. The First Meeting will take place in the Golan the 15-16 of this month.

  5. Andres de Alamaya says:

What peace? Israel and the Palestinians haven't invaded each other lately. That's peaceful. Hamas is at war with Israel. Obama is at war with logic and with America. Have the IDF round up all photographers and confiscate their cameras and Obama will go home. If they all want a real peace then have them all move in on Gaza, all of them, Israel, the West Bank, Egypt and Jordan. Capture and string up the Hamas leaders, give the inhabitants a chance to vote without fear of getting killed and you'll have some peace for a couple of years. For a lasting peace you need to round up all the Mullahs, Ayatollas, Rabbis and Priests, send them to an island, stop brainwashing infants and you'll get global peace.

    • New Yorker says:

As good as might sound, this is all a utopian fantasy

"Capture and string up the Hamas leaders, give the inhabitants a chance to vote without fear of getting killed and you'll have some peace for a couple of years."

They will produce more leaders like Hamas, because that's what they are. They were given a chance to vote – they voted Hamas in by the overwhelming numbers. The next vote will bring about similar results. Because again – that's what these people are – a primitive murderous bunch who can't have it any other way. Wishing it to be different won't change the facts on the ground.

    • New Yorker says:

"For a lasting peace you need to round up all the Mullahs, Ayatollas, Rabbis and Priests, send them to an island, stop brainwashing infants and you'll get global peace. "

Only in your dream. This is the planet Earth. There are and will always be mullahs, ayatollahs, rabbis and priests. The global peace will ensue when the last of human will have dropped dead, but even then there will develop some spieces or other of advanced roaches who will fight it out for dominance. For now, one simply has to decide for himself whose side he is really on and then act accordingly. Lofty moralizing and dubious equivalencies are a poor substitute for the lack of judgement and resolve.

    • CanadConserv says:

Your moral equivalnce between rabbis – most of whom tend to be left wing, tolerant, and practise live and let live, while also being too sympathetic to the palestinians – with the Islamic clergy class – most of whom tend to have Islamist leanings – is reprehensible.

    • ziontruth says:

"For a lasting peace you need to round up all the Mullahs, Ayatollas, Rabbis and Priests, send them to an island, stop brainwashing infants and you'll get global peace."

A common rationalist fallacy, refuted by two points:

      1) Mankind can do its usual without religion. 100,000,000 murdered in the name of Marxism would tell you that, if you could speak to them.

      2) The fact is, for the past few centuries, inter-religious strife has gone down to a minimum with just one exception: Islam. Take Muslim-related news of religious strife away from the equation and you find out religions today coexist pretty well. The only fly in the ointment of those stupid "COEXIST" bumper stickers is that green crescent.

  6. USMCSniper says:

Obama thinks he can talk his way with anybody. Here is a paraody of Obama's delucional narcissism. The scene is a little Jewish girl picking flowers. Nearby, a Muslim Palestinian is working on assembling the components for a gun. As he is constructing the weapon, Obama, walks up and asks him what he is doing. The Muslim responds by informing him of his intention to shoot the little girl. Obama is alarmed and asks "Can't we talk?" The Muslim replies, "Of course." Obama is relieved and, he obliges the Muslim and begins delivering a powerful argument against shooting people. The Muslim nods his head in agreement as he continues putting his gun together. As soon he springs the last part into place, raises his weapon, and shoots the little girl dead. "What did you do that for!?" demands Obama. The Muslim replies, "You idiot, I told you what I was going to do, and you sat here chatting away, giving me the time I needed to pull it off." And that is the same way it is with the all Palestinians and Israel.

    • New Yorker says:

Obama would have declared the entire incident a senseless slaughter and urged the paries to move on for the sake of a lasting peace… because he would still need to earn his Nobel Piss Prize.

    • New Yorker says:

This so-called peace process is nothing other than a human sacrifice to feed the carnivorous vanity of "leaders" like Barack Obama. The "altar of peace" is for all extents and purposes, a butcher's block. To show it a proper respect one should piss on it.

  7. WilliamJamesWard says:

Terrorist acts of violence by Hammas are not condemned
by Obama as he has given these murderers millions of
American tax dollars and American military advisers to
train their thugs. How can Netanyahu expect any help from
meeting with Mullah Obama and PLO slum lord and terrorist
liar and thief Abbas, the answer is he is spinning his wheels
in mud and knows it. If you look closely you can see the
disgust on Benjamin Netanyahu's face, what a lousey thing
for him to have to do. The farce goes on and as and American
I am embarrassed for Netanyahu, embarrassed by Obamah
and disgusted, as for Abbas he is Obama's familiar………

From my earliest days I remember when learning my prayers
the one line that grows and looms ever large, " Lord protect me
from evil" and that is probably what Netanyahu was thinking when
    the above picture was taken……………….William

  8. PAthena says:

The war between the Arabs and Israel would end instantly if the Arabs stopped waging war on Israel. Since the Soviet Union and Nasser invented the “Palestine Liberation Organization” in Cairo in 1964, the Soviet propaganda of calling Arabs “Palestinian” has been so effective that even Israelis call Arabs “Palestinians.” But “Palestine” has meant “land of the Jews” or ” the Holy Land” (Jesus having been a Jew) since 135 A.D. when the Roman Emperor Hadrian changed the name of Judea to “Palestina” after having defeated the last of the Jewish rebellions under Bar Kochba. That is why the Zionists wanted the “Palestine Mandate,” and Great Britain was awarded the “Palestine Mandate” to be “homeland of the Jews.”
Mahmoud Abbas is another Arab, opposed to the existence of Israel on religious grounds. He and his gang do not deserve yet another state, as in the “two-state solution,” in Judea and Samaria (with the propaganda name of “West Bank”).

  9. Gary McAleer says:

The history of the Arabs against the Jews goes back a long time and their hatred will never end. Arabs are descendants of Ishmael, the son of Abraham. Both the Jews and Arabs come from the seed of Abraham. But each son had a different mother: one was his wife and the other a slave. It is the slave that hates the free and the blessed, as it is written of the Arabs, "And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him." Genesis 16:12. (This explains the bloodbath among themselves). But in the end, Ishmael worshiped the God of Abraham (Gen.25:9) not the god of Muhammad called Allah. Therefore, Arab Muslims dishonor their fathers Ishmael and Abraham in their sin against the 5th Commandment while hypocritically claiming to serve God and declaring their superiority over all men. Just another example of the ignorance of arrogance!

The Palestinian Authority's Ambassador to Iran, Salah Zawawi, said on Thursday, September 2nd that the "…relentless struggle with the Zionist occupiers will continue until liberation of Holy Quds (Jerusalem)." He stated that the Zionist regime was established by Western powers to harm unity of the Arab nations and world Muslims.

"As our struggles with the Zionists will get tougher in the future, we hope for more support from the Islamic Ummah," he said. "Through solidarity of world Muslims, we hope to witness the complete eradication of the fabricated regime in due course."

This statement was made by a representative of Israel's "peace partner." Why should anyone believe that the Palestinians want a peaceful end their state of war with Israel?

  11. gregg says:

obama would have Israel on it's knees accepting the muslim sword. It is horrible to live when so much of what was prophetic is coming true. obama is as muslim as an imam and the liberals think they will be the muslims "buddy". Well they will be the first "useful idiots" to be skinned and made into lampshades. Pray for Israel and it's safety. Soon the islamic sword will fall and fail and fill hell by the billions.

  12. Fred Dawes says:

gregg is right our so called Preaident may as well behead jews and help muslims behead Americans and if he could he would.

all the muslims want from us is our death and a mass holocaust. by the way peace talks mean to a muslims a new plan for mass murdered.

  13. Gil Solnin says:

Abbas does not have the ability to marginalize Hamas at all. As long as the current Iranian regime remains there can be no settlement and this is just a parlor game.

Even if Israel was forced to concede part of Jerusalem it would only result in a barrage of terror attacks from Hamas and related groups.

Before sitting down with these parties, the conditions need to be favorable and they are not until the Iran issue is firmly dealt with and resolved.

  14. Lorenzo Bouchard says:

Appeasement with Islam, is like giving a raw steak to a TIGER, in the hope that it will become a VEGETARIAN.
In this War imposed on us by Islam, we must find the determination to DESTROY & CONQUER all of Islam or be CONQUERED.

  15. Wesley69 says:

No settlement will be successful until Iran and its terrorist associations, Hamas and Hezbollah are dealt with. Obama will throw Israel under the bus just the way Neville Chamberlain did when he delivered the Sudetenland to Hitler at Czechoslovakia's expense. Chamberlain failed to gain peace, neither will Obama.

  16. ViewPoint says:

The Muslims are mere pawns. They will never see the day in which they possess any part of Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the Israeli's will not possess Jerusalem either. The U.N. has made no secret of their intent to internationalize Jerusalem. In other words, control of Jerusalem will be in the hands of the U.N. which will cede administrative powers to the Vatican. Subsequently, the more conflict between Israel and the Palestinians that occurs, the better it is for the real, sinister, eventual recipients of Jerusalem.

    • aspacia says:

The UN will never control violent Jerusalem. Their blue hats are worthless peacekeepers who look the other way as Muslims perpetuate violence, similar to the violence they ignore along Lebanese Blue Line.

  17. badaboo says:

Israel in the near future will finbd it necessarry to "pre-empt " Iran . This latest exercise in fal;se hope , is merely just that ., but it is , from Istrael's point of view , necessarry to play the game with another American President and chase the "pink elephant " of peace with those who are sworn to destroy her .
Obama is no different than Bush Sr. & Jr. , than Clinton ,than Reagan …..in that "play peacemaker routine " . Israel is the only REALIST in the mix , for by their participation , the weapons they need , will be made available by the US .
Israel does not need a "Tea Party " , for Israel deals in hard truth and harsh realities .The palestinians will continue to kill Israeli citizens , throughtout ANY "peace talks " with the sole intenion and never changing agenda for Israel's destruction .

Give the Israelis a little credit for knowing how to play the game in dealing with the US , UN and the rest of the west .Neither Obama nor any previous American President will "throw Israel under the bus " and be successful , for all previous attempts failed .

  18. badaboo says:

BTW , Israel ALREADY posseses Jerusalem , and only through it's graces , does it allow the muslim waqf to maintain authority on the Temple Mount .

  19. HanniBarca says:

Thousands of Muslims pray in Jerusalem(Drudge Report) and yet there are no Jews in Saudi Arabia ? Hmmm…do you think there is something very wrong with this picture?

  20. aspacia says:

There will never be peace until Israel annihilates or expels the Arabs in Gaza, The West Bank, and the fifth column existing in Israel.
