The Seattle Weekly reported it rather laconically last Wednesday: “You may have noticed that Molly Norris’ comic is not in the paper this week. That’s because there is no more Molly.”
Norris, the Weekly’s popular cartoonist and originator of Facebook’s notorious “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” page, had not died. Rather, she had gone into hiding because of death threats from Islamic supremacists. The Weekly explained:
The gifted artist is alive and well, thankfully. But on the insistence of top security specialists at the FBI, she is, as they put it, “going ghost”: moving, changing her name, and essentially wiping away her identity. She will no longer be publishing cartoons in our paper or in City Arts magazine, where she has been a regular contributor. She is, in effect, being put into a witness-protection program–except, as she notes, without the government picking up the tab. It’s all because of the appalling fatwa issued against her this summer, following her infamous “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” cartoon….
Molly Norris conceived of “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” as a joke, but it went viral in part because it was a gesture of defiance in the face of violent threats and intimidation: if Islamic supremacists were threatening to murder European cartoonists Kurt Westergaard and Lars Vilks because of their cartoons of Muhammad, and anyone else who dared to draw him, then if everyone drew him, the thugs couldn’t possibly kill us all, could they?
Well, no, they couldn’t. But Anwar Al-Awlaki, the American-born imam who is linked to so much jihadist activity in the United States, including the Fort Hood jihad assassin, the Christmas underwear jihad bomber, and even 9/11, called for her death. And so now she has disappeared. As the Weekly said, there is no more Molly Norris: she has changed her name and gone into hiding.
This is the sort of case that the President of the United States should be talking about. As he wrung his hands about the prospect of Muslim rioting over Qur’an-burning, and told the prospective Qur’an-burner to stand down rather than admonishing Muslims not to react with violent rage to something that did not harm them, the Molly Norris case gave Barack Obama an opportunity. He should have gone on television and given a brief lesson about how freedom of speech is a foremost bulwark against tyranny and a cornerstone of any society that respects the dignity of the human being.

Well some would argue that running away from the threat is exactly what those threatening her would like to see, like a good dhimmi, she had very few options and a normal person would have done the same. Being is I, along with the vast majority of the commentators here and other sites are not good dhimmi's or in the running mood from the devils, we instead chose to tell it like it is. You are ABSOLUTELY right. It is IMPERATIVE that while Islam poses as a mere religion (as if it were equivalent to Buddhism) that it be exposed for the facets of its teachings that unequivocally amount to Totalitarianism and Fascism. Islam runs TOTALLY counter to the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and in a sane America would NEVER EVER be granted the Tax-Free perks of religious institutions. In essence, it is U.S. TAXPAYERS WHO ARE PAYING for just these few aspects of Sharia Law: the fact that any Muslim who converts to another religion can be EXECUTED; any Muslim who simply LEAVES Islam voluntarily can also be EXCECUTED as "an apostate." As an immigrant kid I learned an early life lesson in school. There were several big bullies in school who picked on me. First I got the impression they were all down on me. Then I realized it was just a few bullies. The next time one of them started to push me around I bloodied his nose. I can't think of anything more worthy than funding a patriot squad of killers who will teach these Neanderthals that you can't mess with freedom and Americans.

I believe should develop a specialized "hit squad" that would take out ALL clerics who spew "Jihad" incitement and anyone involved in "Jihad" activity. If the Judeo-Christian world maintained the Islamic Concept of "JIHAD," there probably would be few Muslims alive in the world today. Islam PREYS on Western restraint, whether it is Hamas/Hizbollah hiding weapons in hospitals or in ordinary homes in heavily concentrated neighborhoods. We Few here understand. Thanks to the courage of Robert Spencer and others like him, we have the research and insight to understand the Religion of Piss. It is critical that this community continue to reveal the truth about Islam. But, we need to begin to go further and widen the net to educate ALL Westerners. The vast majority of people I know have no clue about Islam – no understanding at all. Very scary. What is worse, my friends and associates think Islam is OK and that muslims are really nice people with a beautiful religion; I am competelely confounded by the "Islamic Illiteracy" of most people. We need to start a very well funded and secure organization that presses forward with legal and civil PR and marketing campaigns to educate the West and server as countervailing power against the Islamic PR and Political machines. i am getting really tired of all the tough noise, but no action! It seems like American men, like European men, are afraid to actually DO anything.
