After 9/11, you may recall, the United States was going to bring democracy to the Islamic world. Nine years later, we have Sharia Constitutions in both Iraq and Afghanistan. A Shi’ite client of the Iranian mullahs rules shakily in Iraq, while in Afghanistan the U.S.-backed president is increasingly hostile to America and even threatens to join the Taliban that he was supposed to be fighting against.
But that isn’t even the worst of it. Paradoxically, instead of bringing democracy to the Islamic world, the years since 9/11 have seen only success after success in Islamic supremacist efforts to undermine democracy in the West. Bending over backwards not to appear “anti-Muslim” in their anti-terror efforts, the U.S. and Western Europe have allowed in large numbers of Muslim immigrants who hold to a radically undemocratic political ideology, one that is rooted in Islamic texts and teachings and thus is not susceptible to negotiation, compromise, or the gentle pressure of “assimilation.”
It has all happened quite quickly, and yet gradually enough to have generally escaped the notice of those who have been living through it. Nonetheless, life in Western societies has already been utterly transformed, and more changes – for the worse – are certain to come. In the elegiac, insightful and sweeping new book Radical State: How Jihad Is Winning Over Democracy In the West, the American expatriate Abigail R. Esman, who now lives in the Netherlands, surveys the damage.
It’s a profoundly moving, personal account of how the stealth jihad has advanced in the Netherlands over the last decade and more, written by someone who was in the center of it all. Esman knew Theo van Gogh, murdered by Islamic jihadist Mohammed Bouyeri in 2004 for his film Submission about the plight of Muslim women, and was close friends with Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the outspoken Somali ex-Muslim who served for a time in the Dutch Parliament and who collaborated with van Gogh on Submission, before death threats led her to flee the country. She watched as Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn rose to international prominence for his opposition to unrestricted Muslim immigration and the Islamization of the Netherlands – and then was murdered by a Dutchman who said he did it out of sympathy for the nation’s Muslims. Esman recalls: “There were those – and I was one of them – who thought Fortuyn was little more than a pretender, a narcissist with a big mouth and glib tongue who would quickly be exposed and then forgotten. We were the most wrong of all.”
Of course we in the West are afraid to admit that Islam is a problem. Because once you admit you have a problem, then you have to get off your posterior and DO something about it. The West is too decadent to save itself. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Great civilizations are never conquered militarily by others, they self-destruct by their own decadence. The Roman Empire was eventually taken over by others but only after it became so dysfunctional as a political entity it was bound to disintegrate anyway. The takeover by the Visigoths was really an afterthought.
Until the West acknowledges that it is being confronted by a primitive and violent superstition that was founded by a known killer, the West will continue to retreat. The cancer of multiculturalism and its primary symptom of political correctness is cured by historical truth. United Nations inspired historical revisionism, needs chemotherapy.
Abigail Esman’s book is prophetic. To understand what will inevitably happen to America as a direct result of mass Muhammadan immigration, study what has already happened in Europe. In order to accommodate Muhammadan immigration we must necessarily sacrifice our freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and our right to privacy, and if allowed to continue on its present course, in the long run eventually we will lose all our fundamental freedoms, and we will find ourselves living in harsh and degrading dhimmitude. It may not be politically correct to speak out against Muhammadan immigration and say you don’t want America to be changed forever, but it is not racist. Hence, we must not remain silent. Indeed, we must speak out and we must speak out loudly in order to put a stop to this multicultural insanity.
Anyway for those of you that want to understand the stealth and deceptive non-violent jihad, the supremacist agenda, and the silent Islamization of the West intimately, I highly recommend reading Abigail Esman’s book.

I am a true admirer of R.Spencer's wisdom and courage. However, he is not right saying there is no democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, the Sharia regimes there are the result OF democracy. Please remember, Socrates was sentenced to death by democratic vote. What Spencer most likely mean is there is no REPUBLICAN system there. Democracy is the worst form of tyranny. All tyrannies babble about democracy. It's time to call their bluff.

Democracy is Mob Rule! The minority get trampled according to the whims of the majority. There are no guarantees of protection from abuses by those who hold the upper hand. Democracy sucks as much as Autocracy, Theocracy or any other system where the inalienble rights and guarantees of protections for all citizens are not respected.

Democracy in the sense of a majority rule or majority vote alone is not modern democracy. What if an excited majority voted to shut down democracy? This has happened in Iran…… What if a duped majority votes for a leader who subsequently shuts down democracy and the next election and the ones after that? Hitler, Napoleon and many others have done this……… In today's modern societies Democracy is bound by things such as the Bill of Rights or constitutions that guarantee the CONTINUITY of the Democracy, freedoms that are needed- speech,assembly etc- and the RIGHTS OF THE MINORITY who must be allowed to compete and try to become the majority in the future…….. Therefore forget about the ancient and archaic meanings of democracies, the only people dwelling on the concept of a majority vote only, as the meaning of democracy are college intellectuals and those cruel dictators who have established their ideological and religious governments with or without a vote and continue holding show elections ever since . Remember Saddam receiving a 99.8% vote ? ……… Today a Democracy must include a bill of rights and in particular must be secular, so that political religions will not be able to shut it down……. Freedom, human rights and secularism (separation of church and state etc…) MUST BE considered above "democracy"…….Today, the single biggest obstacle in "Islamic" countries in the way of freedom is political Islam because it considers itself not only a theology but a deeply rooted political doctrine which is openly and clearly AGAINST freedom, human rights and democracy, as we have experienced in the West in the last century or so…. BY the way, the biggest reason why so many Muslims emigrate to the West, is ESCAPING Islam and Islamic rule in their own countries. Those Muslims who try to establish Islamic Shari'ah in the West are a smaller minority among Muslims….. If the West intends to keep its free and secular character, it must first of all believe in their own ideals of freedom and secondly it must hold immigrants LEGALLY responsible for their oath of loyalty to the principles of the host country to which they have to swear allegiance and ENFORCE the immigration law.

Dearborn is a city in which people can see a reversal of time…and Western Civilization. Is there still a Christmas display in front of City Hall on Michigan Avenue?
