The issue of Global Warming has been on my mind since the news of Al Gore’s philandering and impending divorce hit the headlines. Al and Tipper are calling it quits after many years of marital bliss and make out sessions at political conventions. It seems Al was enjoying the company of a masseuse. I wonder who will get the polluting mansion in Nashville? Al is now heading out to California where he can continue to force government to use your money to battle Global Warming.
There are also rumors that Al has been having a long time affair with Laurie David, the ex-wife of Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld and current star of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Laurie David is also an ardent environmentalist and Global Warming activist. If anything is heating up, it’s the marital affairs between ‘green’ advocates.
The convenient truth is that Global Warming itself might not even exist. How can someone definitively state that Global Warming is man-made? We are depending on temperature readings from 100 years ago when we were still using outhouses and we were lucky to have electricity in our homes. It is like the Seinfeld episode where George gives his fellow workers at Kruger’s a Christmas card that stated a donation of $20 is being made in their name to the Human Fund. Mr. Kruger comes to George and tells him that the company needs to donate $20,000 to a charity and the Human Fund sounded good enough to him. The next day Kruger calls George in and tells him that accounting just said that the Human Fund does not exist. George’s answer, “It might exist.” Kruger responds, “But it doesn’t.”
This is how I feel about the issue of man-made Global Warming. It might exist, but right now it doesn’t with any certainty. Al Gore and his comrades in the environmental movement are forcing the government to use our tax money to invest in projects that are geared towards solving a hypothetical problem. In the process, we as consumers are being asked to pay higher prices for compact fluorescent light bulbs and hybrid cars.
We do have a choice in what we buy but we have no say in where our tax money will be spent until the next election. Now, with the proposed Cap and Trade legislation, the government will again force corporations to trade carbon credits to offset CO2 emissions. Do not get me wrong, I am for conservation and protecting the environment. But I do not believe the government should be monitoring my monthly energy usage and then penalize me if I use more than the government standard.
It is also very interesting that Al Gore and others like him are heavily invested in the very companies that will benefit from government control and regulation of carbon emissions. Mr. Gore has made hundreds of millions of dollars investing in tech companies that advocate these issues and will continue to profit from Cap and Trade regulation.
Just as George Costanza wanted to scam Mr. Kruger and use his $20,000 dollars for something that did not exist, Al Gore is scamming America and using our money to finance the global warming charade that possibly does not even exist. Kruger called out George on his scam and we must do the same to Al Gore and his fellow investors.
