Will We Be Safer Getting Our Fannies Fondled?

My husband and I are going to take a flight in a few days, and my main concern is how I’m going to restrain him from getting us arrested. The new TSA regulations are just the thing that gets my Libertarian husband crazy. It took him a year to stop talking about the Patriot Act, and he’s now getting that same glazed look in his eyes over the new TSA procedures.
I’ve tried to make him laugh by telling him that at least someone will be fondling him in the next few days, but he didn’t find that amusing. I’ve told him to just go through the scanner and be done with it, but he thinks that’s giving in to the government’s demands too easily. He insists on making some sort of statement, so he’s trying to come up with something he could do to show his protest of this intrusion into his privacy. The reality is we have no freedom when it comes to airport security rules.
The problem is the government has us over a barrel. I agree with my husband’s outrage, but there is nothing we can do to protest unless we don’t want to fly ever again, or get arrested when we do. So once again, we must do what we always do when we are unhappy with the government. It’s time to burn the phone lines and the email inboxes of our representatives in Congress. Let them know how ridiculous these procedures are, and the fact that there is no proof this will keep us safer.
The larger question is why is the Left all of a sudden so in favor of these unreasonable searches? Why are they going on every cable news show to say this is a necessary procedure? Certainly they haven’t forgotten their protests of wiretapping suspected terrorists have they? This is the administration that won’t say “War On Terror” or “Islamo-Fascism,” but they’re okay with poorly trained TSA dudes patting our fannies?
I think there’s more to this story than meets the eye. This is an administration that thinks it’s okay to build a mosque at Ground Zero but a sin to profile the behavior of Middle Eastern passengers getting on an airplane. They would rather humiliate law abiding citizens than profile Muslims, and I think it’s an orchestrated attempt to stick it to the average American. Maybe it’s an attempt to get us used to more intrusion into our lives by the government. Or is it just another example of the ineptness of this administration? They think we’ll accept this intrusion, and go along to get along in the name of security. Once again, they’ve miscalculated. We are not going to let this go without a fight.
