Occupy Wall Street’s ACORN Rent-A-Mobs

Posted by Bio ↓ on Oct 13th, 2011 Comments ↓

Evidence suggests that ACORN, the Left’s premiere astro-turfing organization, has been paying people to participate in the Occupy Wall Street protests.

Astro-turfing campaigns can generate big money, and ACORN’s lucrative protest-for-profit program is nothing new. As I note in my book, Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers, ACORN has acquired great expertise in manufacturing so-called grassroots protests.

Left-wing loan sharks Herb and Marion Sandler, the founders of World Savings Bank, gave ACORN affiliates close to $11 million to manufacture mobs to protest their competition in subprime mortgage lending. The United Federation of Teachers paid ACORN $500,000 to create a spontaneous uprising against charter schools in Manhattan.

The sleazy, SEIU-funded Working Families Party, a front group for ACORN, placed a want ad on the Craig’s List website dated Sept. 26. The ad indicates that WFP was recruiting activists to carry out “direct action,” leftist argot for a variety of activities aimed at forcing sociopolitical change. The line between direct action and violent terrorism can become blurry. Extreme forms of direct action can lead to bodily injury and sometimes death. The labor movement is no stranger to assault and killings. Left-wing activists David Gilbert and Kathy Boudin participated in an attack on an armored car that left two police officers and a security guard dead. Two anarchists tried to disrupt the 2008 GOP convention with Molotov cocktails. The eco-terrorist Sea Shepherd Conservation Society admits both to attacking whaling ships with acid and sinking them.

WFP’s ad is titled, “FIGHT TO HOLD WALLSTREET ACCOUNTABLE NOW! MAKE A DIFFERENCE GET PAID!” It states:

The WFP is seeking immediate hires.

You must be an energetic communicator, with a passion for social and economic justice.

Only outgoing, articulate dedicated, determined candidates will be considered for the positions.

For those candidates that qualify WFP offers substantial paid-training provided by senior leadership, on varied issues such as: advocacy, public speaking, mobilizing, fundraising, networking and organizing. We invest in passionate people with excellent communication skills and a full benefits package is offered to those candidates that qualify. In addition, there is opportunity for advancement and travel to our satellite chapters and out of state affiliates.

This is not a policy job! Through direct action you will be shaping NY state politics for the next 20 years.” [emphasis added]

As previously reported, WFP has been involved in organizing the Occupy Wall Street protests since the beginning.

As radical journalist Laura Flanders reported, WFP organizer Nelini Stamp has “been here since day one and she is part of the organizing team and the outreach team that has managed to bridge the distance between that first day and this day and between the grassroots folks here and the labor movement.” Stamp said the protests are aimed at “trying to change the capitalist system” and bringing “revolutionary changes to the states.”

WFP organizer Matthew Cain also acknowledged the party’s involvement Oct. 5 and helpfully provided a photograph of party staffers bearing a blue and white WFP banner during a march in lower Manhattan. Across from Foley Square,

several WFP field staff were standing on the steps. For some of the staffers, it was their first time at the square, but for many others they had already spent nights sleeping in the park. Even those who have been there for two weeks or more have not seen their spirits diminished – they’re every bit as committed as they were when they first showed up.

Of course WFP executive director Dan Cantor, a longtime ACORN operative, is pleased with Occupy Wall Street so far. Cantor told supporters in an email that “the spirit of Wisconsin and Tahrir Square is alive and well in New York City.”

A very informative essay, thanks. Please tell me why bankers and other wealthy rich people continue to live in NY where the DEMS rule and will give their families no protection. Move to a gated community in FLA and let NYC rot away from the virus of Progressivism.

  2. taxpayer says:

These people are not occupiers, they are trespassers. They keep honest, tax paying citizens from using the parks, roads, sidewalks and businesses. All they do is leave behind trash for the government to clean up. They have no constructive ideas and all they know is to destroy our Country. I am glad that the democrats are aligning themselves with these trespassers.

Isn't this a crime being committed? Is it not incitement to violence? Treason?

Will the DOJ investigate this? Oops! No, "Big Brother and the Holder Company" are busy investigating their set-up assassination plot by successful Corpus Christi used car salesman, "Jack" Manssor Arbabsiar.

    • Paardestaart says:

So ACORN has nothing to do with the commotion? There is no community organizing? Alinsky is no idol of the people who want to 'change' America, so you do not need to read his books?

The unions do not really spend millions on presidential campaigns for their favorite candidates, and if they did they would do it gratis? And Soros does not finance ACORN, and distribute huge sums to pay for activist groups and committees? There are no wealthy influential people who want to reshape the world, and who'll use any ideology – even yours, even marxism to attain their goal?
Because "rich people are right wing," and not smart enough to use everything yóu believe in to turn you and your cronies into serfs?
You trust everyone who walks like you and talks your lingo?

      Right – that's what I thought.

Of course Horowitz wàs a communist but he's not anymore, and that should make him extra interesting for a smart person, but of course yóu do not think he has anything to say that you need to hear? Of course – I get it.
It's not what a person says, it is whó says it, isn't it? And you already knów who to listen to..!
My god – and you people actually think you are smart!

You don't like "right-wing rags", don't read them. If you do, make sure to keep your ntiro handy, because we're going to do our best to give you a coronary …

  8. Dispozadaburka says:

Democracy is becoming just another name for "Mob Rule."

  9. StephenD says:

We live in a Republic. Democracy IS Mob Rule. Apart from this, I wonder if the useful idiots realize when the crap hits the fan they will have no one to go to for relief. Do they think ACORN will feed, house and protect them? LOL
If the Anarchists behind this get their wish they will have disrupted our system enough to have violent actions in the streets. Then comes the limitation of supplies and fuel and food stuffs. Soon, everyone is welcoming a Declaration of Martial Law. A suspension of your Constitutional Rights is given up freely. Final authority is now in the hands of the Government for every aspect of your life and…under the rule of one person.
Can you think of ANY ONE person you would trust with such power?

    • kafir4life says:

I've been saying since inauguration day 2009 that we'll have martial law sometime before the next general election. There's no way that that obamanation in the White House can win another election. The only way he's in office in 466 days is if he "delays" the elections until he thinks Americans are "thinking more clearly".

Remember these words from The One?
“Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we’re hardwired not to always think clearly when we’re scared.“

      • Forestman says:

Who from the right is gonna win the election? Cain? Perry? Bachmann? How about that staunch conservative Mitt? The repugs are in disarray.

        • coyote3 says:

This is a joke, right? Now, I admit the election is quite a ways off, but the only thing we have to go on is the here and now. I am not a Republican, but closer to a Libertarian, but right now, any of the contenders would beat President Obama.

    ISLAMO-NAZI KHAMENIE ENDORSES ANTI-CAPITALIST MOVEMENT

Perhaps it's Islamo-Nazi, nuclear Iran's answer to Barack Obama's Moslem outreach initiative. As part of an ongoing campaign to partner with "extremist groups, drug traffickers and other outlaws based in the Western hemisphere*" Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenie, in a jesture of friendship and solidarity with the national anti-US movement to overthrow democratic capitalism said yesterday that it "reflects a serious crisis that exposes America's corrupt foundation that will ultimately topple American capitalism." Confident that America is finished as a great world power and that Iran will replace it as the dominate global hegemon Khamemie predicted that attempts to crackdown on the US movement would fail, and that it would "ultimately grow and soar and bring down the unjust capitalist system and the West."

Read Ann Coulter's column on this wacky Occupy mob frenzy. She calls them the Flea Party, in contrast to the Tea Party…pretty funny, eh?

  12. ClaireSolt says:

Conservatives should stop using the Marxist term "capitalism'. Why? mosty because free enterprise evolved through trial and error. It is not an -ism in the sense that it is a belief that sprang out of the creative genius of someone like Marx. Talk about free enterprise, not capitalism and you take the side of America's real philosophy.

Likewise, when asked about global warming, the reply should be: "Do you ask me a religious or science question. Religion is about believing. Science is about knowing. Empiricism and the scientific method are the essence of the Age of Reason or Enlightment and orthodoxy is its enemy. Our progress in science and technology cannot continue hampered by unproved PC dictates but only in free inquiry unencumbered by -isms. Obviously, blind adherence to -isms killed millions in 20th c.

    • Beth says:

"Talk about free enterprise, not capitalism and you take the side of America's real philosophy"

Excellent point. I will remember that. Thank you.

    • Maxie says:

Marx a creative genius? Hardly. He never explained how his imaginary "dictatorship of the proletariat" would function or why it would be any better than any other dictatorship. He never explained why said dictatorship would eventually jus "wither away" and what would fill the void if it did. He and Engels never understood that "the devil is in the dtails" and they never understood human nature – that man is not a herd animal. The legacy of Marx is 94 million dead (Re: "The Black Book of Communism", Curtois et al). Marx was smart but untutored and undisciplined as a scholar. His so-called "proletariat" was a projection of himself as an underappreciated sociiocultural asset. IMHO

  13. That's a very interesting comment, ClaireSolt. I'm not sure I agree with you but you've gotten me thinking.

If ACORN is paying these protestors, whose money are they using??? Couldn't be taxpayer money, could it??? The news said this morning it will cost NYC approx $1 million to clean up the park, if they can get them to move out. Should be interesting…….

And that's legal? here in America??? Protesters are given rights to be heard for legitimate complaints. Are bought 'ponds' given the same rights? What are the laws on that? Where are the legal voices? to condemn it? Isn't this a slap in the face to the laws that protect every protester who comes forth with a heart-felt legitimate complaint? (I believe it is. Call it bribery)

      • guest says:

um, yea, but that's not terrorism. Well, except in the conservative mind. Remember, it was conservatives who referred to the lunch counter demonstrations of the civil rights era as criminal actions by subversives.

        • coyote3 says:

Don't know about them being subversives, but I have some news for you. Some of the actions at the lunch counter demonstrations were criminal, at the time. Some of them would be criminal, even now. Nonetheless, you need to learn that "criminal" does not necessarily have anything to do with "right" or "wrong".

  21. LindaRivera says:

The correct place to protest is the White House! It is White House policies that are DESTROYING the American economy! Will we ever be able to recover from this massive Leftist/Fascist assault on our people and country?

An inferior health care plan that no one wants and CANNOT afford to pay. The threat to jail and/or fine those who don't purchase the government enforced plan.

Massive spending as if there is no tomorrow. Fighting wars we have no money for. Massive borrowing.

The Massive giving away of Billions of dollars every year to other countries, including the oil-wealthy Middle East, Hamas-controlled Gaza and the Palestinian Authority organization who fill their war chests, build mansions and laugh all the way to the bank with free infidel money. Whilst in America, homeless shelters are filled to capacity; tent cities have sprung up all over the U.S. filled with desperate, jobless, homeless, neglected Americans.

Massive debt. The massive printing of paper money out of thin air to DELIBERATELY create out-of-control inflation. There is no question that the total DESTRUCTION of America's economy is planned. The results will be horrifying. In the once wealthy and great nation of America, millions of Americans will become destitute, hungry and homeless with no money or resources to help them.

  22. LindaRivera says:

Because of the terrible economic destruction that has been wrought against our nation, it is urgent that organic, non-gmo avocado, fruit and nut trees and berries are planted in all of our nation’s cities’ and towns’ parks to help the many millions of Americans who will soon be in a desperate struggle to survive. There have been many food riots in other countries. Stop planting corn for biofuel and plant corn for food!

  28. MinnieM says:

Authorities should take a page our of Ronald Reagan's handbook. Remember when he was Gov. of calif. he stopped all the massive destructive demonstrations when he ordered the National Guard to surround the demonstrators and slowly force them back into one downtown LA city block, and prevent them from leaving while helicopters dropped nausea gas on them. His actions Stopped that insanity all over the country. A good plan to teach this latest reincarnation of the 60s Revolution a lesson and stop all this destructive foolishness would be to surround that park and keep them confined there and make them live in the filthy conditions they have created. so what if they start dying off from diseases. They aren't very good citizens anyway. who needs them ?

  29. Asher says:

Sure, they are being paid to riot and intimidate the police and law abiding citizens!

  30. Bill says:

I find it ironic that they are demonstrating and protesting against bankers. It was Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and the left side of congress who forced the banking industry to give sub-prime loans to people who couldn't afford them and didn't deserve them. When the housing market quite understandably collapsed under the weight of the resultant deluge of foreclosures, the banks took the only way out of the mess that the left forced on them. Now the left wants to blame the bankers. I love it. Only in America could this fraud be perpetrated.

  31. Zeke says:

What most of the tea party and other right wing posters are doing is denying the seriousness of this protest movement. The facts are that no amount of tax cuts will make individuals and corporations create jobs. They will simply take the money and increase executive bonuses. In the meantime, the GOP is very good at outmaneuvering Obama because the President has no clue how to use presidential power. However, with all of their political trickery, Republicans are not offering any plans on how to increase employment. Their proposals to cut govt. spending for the poor and the elderly are really tax increases while their millionaire constituency laughs all the way to the bank.
Revolutions never start with the poor and uneducated. They always start with the intelligentsia and middle class. When more people lose their middle class status, they will not want to hear of nonsense like 9-9-9. They will join the protestors.

    • Maxie says:

Corporations will add employees when they know what the costs (e.g.; medical) of new hires will be.The prohibitive cost of the looming Obamacare fiasco has put all such hiring on hold.
