There was a barber shop where the barbers worked long hours; some did better work than others, but all were known by their work and all were expected to work. Some of the shop clients were staff from a restaurant next door to the barber shop. It was a deliberte decision to give them good service or not!
Every day these barbers went to eat lunch at the restaurant where their customers worked. The restaurant workers recognized the barbers according to their own experiences at the barber shop and treated them accordingly – with good service or poor. The barbers purchased the food only because they had to eat; some paid their bills grudgingly and some of the barbers didn't tip well, if at all. Two different groups just keeping the cycle going.
