The Left’s Hurricane of Hate

A hurricane coupled with a Republican convention is more than enough to elicit the latest spasms of hate emanating from the Left. Our list of oh-so-tolerant all-stars comes from the predictable precincts of Hollywood and the mainstream media. All of them seemingly embrace the Obama administration’s credo of never letting a crisis go to waste.

Former movie star Ellen Barkin apparently didn’t get the memo about toning down the violent rhetoric in the wake of the Gabby Giffords shooting. Last Sunday, Barkin re-tweeted a message from one of her followers that illuminated the rank hypocrisy of those who consider themselves paragons of tolerance. “C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC,” the message read. Barkin defended herself by lashing out at Twitchy, the website that reported the tweet. ”For better or worse, that was not my original tweet.A retweet. But Twitchy liked it better their way,” she wrote. Twitchy noted that a re-tweet is not necessarily an endorsement of the original message, but noted that ”Barkin didn’t give any indication that she disagreed with the revolting sentiment when she retweeted it to her followers.”

Barkin is no stranger to expressing such “open-mindedness.” Back in July, she expressed her displeasure regarding the idea that some Americans aren’t thrilled with her upcoming television show, “The New Normal.” The NBC series is about a gay couple who want to use a surrogate mother to have a baby. ”I love everybody,..except u right wing f**kin morons, (sic),” she tweeted at the time. Add her August take on voter ID, “bulls**t going on now will kill us all,” and her tweet to actor Jon Lovitz for criticizing the president, “John Lovitz maybe I met you a few times back in the day, but now you’re just an ignorant a**hole. Shut the f**k up,” and you have a woman oblivious to her own, foul-mouthed intolerance.

She is hardly alone. Samuel Jackson also took to Twitter to question the wisdom of God Himself, and his divine decision to spare the city of Tampa, FL, site of the Republican convention. “Unfair S**t: GOP spared by Issac ! NOLA probably F**ked Again! Not understanding God’s plan!” wrote Jackson. A deluge of responses apparently caused Jackson to issue two other tweets characterized as “an apology” by The National Post:  ”Daayum! Poked a Hornets nest, hunh? Apologies to God, Tampa, da GOP& Isaac(sp)! Who played the Race card?!” Jackson wrote, followed up by “Whoooo! A lotta sh**t stirred into a Bulls**t tweet! Politics & Religion get MUHFREPUBLICANS heated!” Such tweets are apparently as “apologetic” as Jackson gets.

As for Jackson’s inquiry about who played the race card, going right to the top of the list would be MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. If one embraces Matthews’ distorted worldview, every criticism aimed at Barack Obama constitutes racism. On a Monday segment of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Matthews lashed out at Republican National Committee Chairman (RNC) Reince Priebus. Mitt Romney’s birth certificate remark, a joke to anyone capable of rational thinking, was apparently the fuse. “That cheap shot about ‘I don’t have a problem with my birth certificate’ was awful,” Matthews said. “You are playing that little ethnic card there. You can play your games and giggle about it, but the fact is your side is playing that [race] card.”

Matthews was even more incensed when Priebus called the president’s economic policies “European.” “What? Where do you get this from? That’s insane,” Matthews responded. “You mean the fact that every president we’ve had has tried to offset the economic cycle with stimulus going the other direction is somehow European?” As the exchange grew more heated, Priebus decided arguing was pointless. Matthews’ “journalistic” response? “Because you’re losing, that’s why,” he groused.

Later that evening, Matthews defended himself. ”It is obvious that this is something I care passionately about: race was abused by white politicians in my lifetime, including Reagan,” he contended. “For someone to come on the program and deny that this is part of their process, I couldn’t take that. This is something I really, deeply believe in. We grew up in a country where appeals to race have been awful, terrible. This language–we are beyond this. It had to be called out.” He further noted that “race is the San Andreas Fault in this country, and this is dividing this country along racial lines.”

Again, it takes a monumental level of obliviousness for Matthews to inject race into the discussion wherever possible, even as he complains that racial issues–courtesy of Republicans only, it would seem–are dividing the country. Thus, it was completely unsurprising that Matthews doubled-down on Tuesday, when he warned his audience to “be on the alert for the tribal messages, the war drums of racial division” at the GOP convention. “Listen for the word ‘welfare’… the charge that… someone else is getting a free ride courtesy of President Obama,” he said. “Wait for warnings that your Medicare benefits are being siphoned off to pay for Obama’s health care recipients–another case where the good middle-class family is getting shorted so that poor minorities get something for nothing.” Matthews further claimed that voters would be treated to “a relentless dog whistle” that “treats black voters with disdain and treats white people like well, well-trained canines.”

    • LibertyMan says:

Chris Matthews has no problem with Clinton lieing about Church Burnings in Arkansas 3 days before election day in '98. Worse racism then what a street bigot would do. Clinton's statement was to enrage black voters with a double lie. He witnessed no church burnings. And traditionally church burnings is a democrat thing (to include what happened against Palin's former church in Alaska by Democrat terrorists.

Chris Matthews was always a phony liberal that supported racism and Jew/Christian Hating politicians. Intelectual Bigots are far more evil then street bigots. Street bigots you can always blame on ignorance while intellectual bigots use their slander to drive people to hate.

    • BS77 says:

Yes, manic and hateful, frustrated and hysterical. Why the term, "Progressive"? I have never understood the use of this term. The left are indoctrinated robots…..nothing progressive about them at all. Samuel Jackson made some appearances in movies, about twenty years ago….who cares what these foul mouths say anymore?

    • Omar says:

Chris Matthews is a real bigot who can't stand the fact that there are prominent minorities in the GOP and in the conservative movement. He and MSNBC are afraid that minorities will prove them wrong one day very soon.

It is deadly combination embracing continents not just states.
Some operatives working now in the US previously performed here in Israel as well. The former WH COS hails from
a family formerly active in Israel under different veneer cover. Others are operatives trained on subversion from the extreme left side of the spectrum.
The same type of people cooperate against the state with anti-Semitic international organizations, some of them financed by foreign government through the NIF.
From the distance one sees the same tunes played in the US as well.

  3. Hank Rearden says:

Who do we think of when we think of New York City and 9/11? Rudy Giuliani of course. The Left has uses the press to craft its narrative. They did this by pinning New Orleans on Bush. Ray Nagin skedaddled out of there leaving those 500 buses unused. Kathleen Blanco refused resources that Bush tried to provide early on. The Navy and the Coast Guard rescued people from their rooftops before the press got there. The press reported inconvenience as atrocity. The press ignored that the problems of New Orleans, even poor construction, was the result of decades of Democrat corruption.

The only thing we can do is to keep banging away with the truth. That WILL work, even if it doesn't seem to at any given time. The Soviet Union looked permanent until it dissolved all at once because nobody in it believed in it any more.

Sort of amusing that Chris Matthews thinks that a birth certificate is a racist subject. Everybody has to be born and in this country a birth certificate goes along with that. Of course, what he is doing is trying to take off the table all the issues that go against Obama. So he wants welfare dependency to be a race issue; health care to be a race issue. I think that Priebus and Newt did OK with Chris. We will do better as our guys get more adept. On TV the guest can't get angry or that piece of tape will be played for the next century.

The Democrats are the party of slavery, segregation and welfare. Their impact on the black community since the beginning of the Republic has been incredibly destructive. They now want to be the arbiters of race relations to conceal their deplorable record. We have to find ways to get better at not letting them do it.

    • Spider says:

This is all correct. And to your point about the corrupt media "crafting a narrative" or more precisely they are creating an alternative universe of their choosing to suit their ends – For example: Obama is a uniter – a rock star,, More taxes help the economy, Obamacare will lower the cost of health care, America is imperialist, etc etc. The main stream media now work for our enemies – I don't know if it is ideological or if they are on the take but they are working to destroy our country as we know it.

What's their new headline, "God disappoints democrats again?" I hope the weather is great for the dp convention, so they have no excuse for how lame it is, despite the strong msm tailwind it will have.

Matthews is a dog, so naturally he hears dog whistles everywhere. Matthews is a racial bigot, so naturally he sees bigotry everywhere. The rest of the country has known all along that there are far more palefaces living on welfare than black people, and we don't care what color the freeloader is, but Matthews equates welfare with black folks, so in his mind, everyone else must as well. Because the dp gutting popular welfare reform, and how they did it is a such a losing issue for the dp, people like chris have to try and throw up a race shield to prevent the GOP from mentioning it, much less hammering the dp for it. They use race as a political weapon, while using absurd accusations against the GOP as cover and distraction.

Another fun way they do that is code words. They turn everything a conservative says into some kind of class or racial code, and what does Juan Williams do? Calls Mrs. Romney a "Corporate Wife," and then spends the next few days trying to come up with an adequate answer for what he meant by that. Speaking in code is a leftist/dp thing, because saying what they think has always been offensive to the average American. You know you've had it too easy, for too long, when you can get away with projecting what you're doing to your opponent onto them, even as you do it.

So Jake Tapper says the media tipped the scales for Obama in the last election. Presumably, people should have cared about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, and the pathetic birth certificate kerfuffle? Too bad–they didn't, and they still don't. Does he think open-ended war and an economic collapse after 8 years of Republican rule would somehow have worked in McCain's favor?

    • bkopicz says:

      Hi Jim_C

Just to let you know, I do care about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and I do not blame Bush or the Republican party for the sh#tty job that Obama has done. As far as finding ignorant comments from the left all you need to do is take a step back.

Orwell, as usual, had his finger on things in this area. From his essay, Politics and the English Language: "All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred, and schizophrenia. When the general atmosphere is bad, language must suffer."

    • Omar says:

Bush's "open ended war" freed millions of Iraqis from the brutal dictator, Saddam Hussein, who gassed the Kurds, tried to illegally occupy Kuwait and had violated every international resolution since the Gulf War. Bush also freed millions of Afghans from the despotic Taliban rule. Bush promoted freedom and democracy throughout the world and he was a great president. The far-left despises him because he believed in democracy and freedom, while the far-left and their Islamist allies believe in totalitarianism and tyranny.
And as for Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers, They both had dangerous influences on Obama. Wright screamed "God Damn America!" during his nonsense sermons, and Bill Ayers founded and headed what was one of the most dangerous domestic terrorist groups in American history. Ayers declared at one point, "Bring the Revolution home! Kill your parents!" If that's not dangerous and extreme, then I don't know what is dangerous and extreme. Bottom line, the left has far more dangerous influences than conservatives do. That's the reality.

I honestly believe that alot of people are in for a rude awakening when God finally says "the party's over", and they see that huge contrast between the God who created us and the God in their tiny world of "all who don't see things my way are evil or racists". Samuel L, isn't the only one. Many have made blasphemous hateful comments such as these yet, have the nerve to call conservatives or Republicans "racist", "lovers of war" or "hatemongers"

Of course you don't understand all of God's plans Samuel L. If you did think on the same level as God, he wouldn't be God, would he? With tempermant like that I truly thank God for this fact:
Isaiah 55: 8-98 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

People need to think about this before they verbally express their foolishness

  17. RoguePatriot6 says:

“race is the San Andreas Fault in this country, and this is dividing this country along racial lines.”

LOL!!!! Really? I gotta tell you, I haven't seen this much racial tension and division amongst this nation's people since the seventies and believe me it isn't because we elected the "the first black president". It's because of the constant false accusations of racism against the people who detest his policies and the accusations of racism to drive people's attention away from the point while the disciples of Big Government (not to mention tyrannical) continues to grab more power at the expense of the Constitutional rights of this nations citizens. Barrack, Maxine Waters, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and all others who exploit every comment and incident as "racial" are reopening old wounds that would have long ago healed weren't it not for Hollywood, lame stream media (Chris Matthews) and liberal progressives.

    • tagalog says:

A huge amount of the racial tension is being generated by racially clueless white middle- and upper-class men and women engaging in racial name-calling and the invention of phony racial "codes," and not by blacks and other minorities, who are smart enough to know when they can get the honkies to carry their ideological water and when they can't.

  18. patriotwork says:

Chris Matthews was beyond feeling a thrill run up his leg. He was wee-weed up.

  19. RoguePatriot6 says:

I'll tell you what Chris Matthews, if your serious about closing this "san andreas fault" as you call it, of racial divide in this nation,do the following:
Protest Hollywood's constant potrayal of blacks as angry anti-American thugs that have a mountain sized chip on their shoulders. Believe it or not some of us actually have something to offer other than profane rap music and violence.
Lombotomize the part of your so called brain that tells you that when someone mentions "food stamps" or "welfare" they mean blacks because when you think like that all you do is expose your racist mentality of thinking that blacks are the only ones that use it.
Protest and denounce the actions of the New Black Panther Party. Racism is racism is racism, regardless of the source from which it comes it only further widens this "san andreas fault". The only thing missing from groups such as these are sheets because their hatred is just as ugly.

These are among the vast many steps that could be taken and believe me they have nothing to do with conservatives.

    • tagalog says:

I, for one white boy, would LOVE a movie with a good plot featuring intact black families of the type I believe to be typical: working, struggling, going to church, holding down respectable jobs, engaging in civic activities with their friends and associates, and insisting on the kids acting respectfully. The Bill Cosby Show, which could be as silly as TV shows often are, was like that at its best. The movie Sounder was like that in most ways.

I know there are a lot of black and Hispanic thugs hanging out on the street corners, and lots of single-parent households where the struggle is more basic, but I don't believe this is the norm among minorities. There are plenty of white thugs and unwed white mothers too. I believe that most people, minorities or not, are doing their best to establish an honorable and decent life. They must be at liberty to choose the best course for themselves and their loved ones.

There are plenty of "first things" they need to do that, but two of the foremost firsts are jobs and a functional economy.

      • RoguePatriot6 says:

"I, for one white boy, would LOVE a movie with a good plot featuring intact black families of the type I believe to be typical:"
A few decades back, that was true and we actually had some programs that portrayed that type of family. Remember "Cosby"? Remember "Good Times"? It seems so ironic that we had this big push to eliminate the stereotypical images of blacks and other minorities that from which Hollywood had made billions and yet we still have this garbage bombarding the airwaves.

    • Questions says:

Oh, please. A stupid cliche if ever there was one. Every movie Will Smith is in is a hero any white can relate to. As for Morgan Freeman, he's in one out of two movies, including the "Batman" ones. And we're not even talking about films like "Eve's Bayou," "The Preacher's Wife," "Antwone Fisher," "The Best Man" and other black-themed films.

      • RoguePatriot6 says:

Perhaps my view of Hollywood was a bit rash however, and this is no fault of Hollywood, our youth seem to have this destructive tendency to gravitate towards the thuggish characters. Some of it is due to the negative criticism that the characters like you mentioned earlier get from some of the others in the entertainment buisiness.
Like for instance Whitney Houston, she received alot of flak about being a "sellout" because of the choices she made in life and her music, most of which she should have been praised for.
Will Smith also got alot of flak from the thug crew like Tupac, Easy-E and some of the gansta-rap stars for being his style of music. I guess the fact that you could listen to his music with your kids was alittle to warm and fuzzy for them.

Where were the usual watchdogs when Herman Cain was being called an "Uncle Tom" and "suffering from Stockholm Syndrome"? Where were the watchdogs when he was falsely accused of sexual harassment? The left doesn't care about minorities, period. Herman Cain was supposed to be the GOP's hope for the presidency, but the left was so alarmed by Cain's charismatic presence and his popularity among the voters in the polls last year that they had to take him down in order to ensure that blacks and other minorities would continue supporting the Democrats. The left took Cain down and out of the race by resorting to the some of the worst racial stereotypes in history. The left had the help of the lunatic Gloria Allred and other women to embarrass Cain and to make him look bad in public. Karen Kraushaar, one of the women who took part in the racist smear campaign against Cain, helped deport young Elian Gonzalez, who was having a good time living with his family in the U.S., to Cuba where he was indoctrinated with the propaganda of the Castro regime (thus insulting both Black Americans and Cuban Americans). Kraushaar (and all the other leftists who took part in trying to destroy Herman Cain and other conservative minorities' reputations) is an enemy to minorities (especially conservatives) and is the new Victoria Price (the woman who falsely accused the "Scottsboro Boys" of rape in the 1930s). The left should be ashamed of itself for its racist smear campaign against Cain and other minority conservatives. Thankfully, there has been an increase of rising stars who are minorities in the Republican Party. Luis Fortuno is the key to the future. He is the key not only to Puerto Rico's admission to the Union as the 51st state, but also the key to minorities' future in the conservative movement. He gave Romney the support the latter needed to win in Florida and Puerto Rico. One day, minorities will overcome the left's meaningless propaganda and fully embrace America's freedoms.

  31. Marvin Fox says:

The Left's hurricane of Hate, ends with the statement that there will be no limit to the unfounded accusations against Republicans. The Democrats very, very frequently blame the Republicans for things they themselves are guilty of. I think that is called 'projection' and is an attempt to shift blame from oneself to others. The Democrats could find those '"unfounded" accusations within themselves, if they would only look at their own actions. The Democrats don't appear to be able to look within themselves for guilt, that may be the reason they are such magnificent accusers. They must expiate their guilt outward instead of within themselves. None are so blind as those who will not see.
    Marvin E. Fox

    • Omar says:

Projection is the left's philosophy of trying to discredit anyone with a dissenting view. Leftists like Ed Schultz and Al Sharpton do project an awful lot. The American people need to expose the left's true agenda.
