The Left’s Version of ‘Legitimate Rape’

The Occupy Wall Street movement sent out a message urging an occupation of the British consulate in solidarity with Assange. The Occupy movements had become notorious for their sexual assaults, including the abuse of a 14-year-old girl. Occupy Baltimore had put out a pamphlet urging members not to report sexual assaults to the police. When a19-year-old girl was raped at Occupy Cleveland, Occupiers accused her, like Assange’s victims, of being a plant, giving us another glimpse of progressive rape culture.

Assange’s case is not unique. The Democratic Party is deeply tainted by activists who support rapists.

Recently, Jesse Jackson led a rally in Oklahoma for convicted rapist Darrell Williams. Williams had dragged one woman through a backyard and sexually assaulted her and had also assaulted another woman at that same party. Williams was convicted of two counts of rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual battery. In his defense, Jesse Jackson said, “Jesus was innocent, but convicted.”

Al Sharpton, like Jesse Jackson, also has a history of defending rapists. One of Sharpton’s most infamous moments, in a career full of them, was his involvement in the Dunbar Village case.

The full details of the Dunbar Village case are too horrific to go into at any length, but the crimes perpetrated there included the gang rape of a mother and the torture of her 12-year-old son. Both the victims and perpetrators in the Dunbar Village case were black. But Al Sharpton and the NAACP still chose speak out on behalf of the rapists while standing with their family members.

Todd Akin has never spoken at a Republican National Convention. But Al Sharpton spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. Jesse Jackson spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 1984, 1988 and 2000. The Democratic Party has yet to disavow either man.

Michael Moore was a high-profile guest at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. The Democratic Party has yet to disavow him. Two Democratic presidents have been accused of sexual assault, as have two Democratic senators who ran for president: Edward Kennedy and Chris Dodd.

Democratic Congressman David Wu was forced to resign just last year for forcing himself on a teenage girl. That same year Democratic Congressman Dale Kildee was accused of sexual abuse by a family member and Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings was sued for sexual harassment.

The Democratic Party has never addressed its rape culture. Instead its politicians constantly harp on the importance of keeping abortion in the case of rape legal. With their track record, it is not hard to figure out why. The alternative, as Mary Jo Kopechne found out, involves killing both the mother and her child.

The question that intelligent people should ask themselves is whether what Todd Akin said was worse than what Ted Kennedy did? Is what Todd Akin said worse than aiding actual rapists as Michael Moore, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have done? Is what Todd Akin said worse than trying to cover up actual rapes the way that Occupy Wall Street has done?

    Sorry Daniel, two wrongs don't make a right. Akins' statement was one of the most ignorant and asinine I've ever heard a politician offer. That fact that he's in the middle of a campaign for public office…and is THAT clueless about the use of language….and about the issue of rape itself….shouts out to us that he's a disaster and a loser determined to drag the Republican Party down with him.

    Akins is the poster-boy of the so-called Republican "war on women." It's a fallacy contrived by Dems to distract voters from the REAL issues – dangerously high levels of debt and economic under-performance…but he has single-handedly given the narrative legs. If he had an ounce of integrity, he'd withdraw and leave the field to a Republican who stood a chance. With all the talk about Ohio, it should be noted we can't win without Missouri.

      My reply to you is to only look at the statistics and data on raped Woman getting pregnant. It is low and rare. He did NOT say it does not happen, only that it rarely occurs. Problem is that you can't handle the truth. Pity.

        Actually, the reverse. Rape is one sex act, and the statistics of getting pregnant from any one sex act is around 5 percent, but the percentage from rape is 7 percent. It is actually HIGHER.         I should have made my comment without addressing you personally because you certainly made no defense of Akins in your article. But as you can readily derive from some of the responses above, hypocrisy and prevarication are – sadly – pathologies that are not exclusive to the Left.

An individual is responsible for his actions, unless that individual disagrees with you politically. Then smear anyone who shares — to any extent — his political outlook as rapists.

        Of course if you are a fair-minded individual who truly practices this brand of collectivist group-think, you are just fine with a political opponent using the same tactic to claim that "rightists" practice mass-murder (Brevik, Wisconsin "oops, thought you guys were Muslims" shooter). Of course — while you'll get some morons shouting along in agreement — that is dishonest. How is your argument better?

          When the left gathers around to defend an individual rapist and his excuse his actions as not really being rape, then the left is demonstrating its own rape culture.

          The right has not defended Breivik or helped him escape prison. The left has done that for Assange.

            By your standards I am part of the left. I feel, as does our "leftist" president, that Assange should be prosecuted for a plethora of offenses — rape included. You apply the fringe to the whole; the "left" isn't gathering around anyone. Jokes Moore and Occupy leadership are.

            Brevik, meanwhile, has been hailed as a "hero" and a modern Martel on these very FPM message boards by a few of the resident fringe cases. But is it reasonable to transfer these fringes to the whole right? Of course not.

            Your "rape culture" theory would be ridiculed by any serious political organization — left or right.

They only serve to turn political dialogue into a prolonged, extra-stupidified WWE match ("my side=good/other side=evil). Anyone with any real political knowledge knows much better.

            You are free to think Moore is widely revered by the mainstream left. Statistically speaking, however, you are flat wrong.

    It is a shame that we strive so valiantly to divide humanity into right and left views and equating those views with right and wrong–good and evil. The only good that matters is to love God and love others. I cannot help feeling that those who drive the entire right vs. left debate, on both sides, are actually just about serving themselves and their personal desires. The heart in submission to God–what a rare thing indeed.

    The left thoroughly discredited itself on rape issues / victim's rights when they allowed Whoopi Goldberg to claim it wasn't rape rape.

    Another point – the left's entire mantra has been to create more victims which they then promptly exploit for political purposes then quickly toss in the trash once the issue fades away.

      IMHO, The left and the feminists-Gloria Steinhem lost credibility 20 years ago when they came out in defense of Bill Clinton and used the media as a one way platform two attack the women who claimed they did not like his sexual advances.

    Damnit, Daniel. The last thing I want right now is to find myself (largely) agreeing with a right-winger on this one! It's been literally nauseating to hear so many of my erstwhile allies virulently jump on the "no means yes, sleep means yes, force means foreplay, rape accusations means jealousy or liars, a lack of instantaneously-coming-to-terms-with-what-happened equals consent" bandwagon here. And I know a lot of people use the word "literally" to mean "figuratively", but I honestly mean "literally" here; I've even lost sleep over it. When you read off what should be to any rational human being an unquestionably sickening description of a rape from the charges and the person responds that it's just "night moves" or "gentle caresses" or "foreplay" or whatnot… not just denying the charges, but *excusing* them, simply because they like the guy… ugh, I hate thinking about it.

            And, of course, the right has a movie out that is the exact mirror image of "Fahrenheit 911" — "2016." But that Riefenstahlian propaganda is ok because you agree with it, right?

            The Tea Party isn't a fringe. Neither is OWS. I don't recall D'Souza helping a rapist escape custody while claiming that rape isn't a crime.

            Exact mirror image? I didn't notice 2016 exploiting 9/11 or being quoted by Osama Bin Laden.

            I can see the California Capitol grounds from my office (sorry if that sounds Palinesque). Both the TP and OWS hold events there quite often. Care to take a gander of the percentage of voting residents attending these functions? What percentage does something need to not be considered "fringe"? 0.2? 0.3?

      I agree we should get rid of costly police depts, or at least cut them to a skeleton crew. Then, and only then, will the public demand that criminals be kept in jail. Crime is a judicial problem, not a policing problem.

        Without police, criminals won't be caught. If they're not caught, they won't be jailed. That will save loads of money. It will also enable criminals to pursue their goals, which will make crime an aspect of free enterprise.

            In response to the destruction of the rest of the industrialized world, the United States enacted the Marshall Plan, also known as the European Recovery Program. We donated tons of money (stolen from unwilling citizens through the horror of taxation) to European countries. By doing so, we discouraged Europeans from considering the possibility of becoming Communist. We also fought the Korean war starting in 1950. Had we not done so, all of Korea would be as horrible and threatening a dictatorship as North Korea is today.
            Radical Islam today is even crazier than Communism was under Stalin. We need to support our government.

    Akin simply didn't explain what he meant to say and used the wrong words to begin with. He was speaking of the accusation rather than the action. He was talking in the context of a woman alleging rape in order to get an abortion and we all know that woman never allege rape for any reason, right??
    Those who are oh so outraged by a poor choice of words by Akin, and errant communication of his thoughts are either stupid or disingenuous in their criticism or maybe just haven't thought it through which might qualify under the stupid category.
    The real disgust is seeing how many fellow republicans jump and sing to the hypocritical demonrat/MSM tune.
    Funny how a probable bona fide rapist (BJ Clinton) is a star amongst those despicable creeps.

      Akin's poor choice of words is inexcusable because it shows he is willing to speak off the cuff without proper preparation on a sensitive subject at a time when mistakes can make the difference in what is widely believed to be the most important election in America's history. Through his overconfidence and hubris, he single-handedly rendered believable the left's rhetoric about the "war on women", which was up till then going nowhere. He instantly inverted the polls and made himself a loser vis-à-vis Claire McCaskill, whom he had been leading handsomely in the polls.

      Romney correctly understood that he had no other choice but to disavow him for fear of having the entire Republican Party tainted by his words or perceived to tacitly or secretly agree with them. His bungling apologies were poorly communicated and therefore ineffective and unconvincing. Who knows what other damaging declarations he can come out with in the elections. He should understand that the only right response is to pull out of the race. Now is not amateur hour and certainly not a time to put one's ambitions ahead of the future of the United States of America… and the world.

    Well, I'm sure it's perfectly logical and explainable why it's OK to the Left to abort a pregnancy caused by rape, thus murdering the unborn child, while at the same time holding out for a prison sentence instead of the death penalty for the rapist.

    Look. Akin's comments were vile and they should be condemned,but I'm not blaming the entire Republican party for the idiotic ramblings of one of it's members. But,why is the left so intent on defending Assange? He's not only been accused of putting American lives in danger with his leaks,but he also has been charged with rape in Sweden. If the left wanted to prove it cared about women,it would tell Assange to return to Sweden and sort the whole matter out instead of encouraging him to hide out in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

    The loudest voices heard in our Republic are presently the voices of the Left. They have built a coalition of the wrong that has become, if not very powerful, certainly very loud. Its false appearance of being an overwhelming force is amplified by those who are willing to vent their acceptance of all other wrongs to assure the Left Wing's common support for each wrong. The Left's abortion program becomes a Constitutional right; along with same sex marriages, the Left Wing's interpretation of our 1st Amendment freedom of Religion as the separation of church and state, and I am sure of the many additions others would make to this list leaves no need for me to continue it.
    I believe the American people are becoming, daily, more aware of these problems and are beginning to fight back. Articles such as Frontpagemag's "The Left's Version of Legitimate Rape" is a big help.

    Todd Akin's comment was unbelievably stupid, not evil. For that, he has become an extreme liability to The Republican Party's 2012 election hopes. His candidacy should not be about his personal ambitions, but apparently that is what is foremost as exhibited by his stubborn behavior to remain in the race. He does not seem to realize, or perhaps does not care, that he is expendable and should gracefully drop out. He can always run again another time in the future.

Welfare eligibility should be based on the willingness of the recipient to have her tubes tied; dead beat dads must be cuffed, pulled into a doctor’s office and forced to have a vasectomy. Both processes are reversible but pricey. This suggestion will lower taxes, but greedy churches and poverty p-imps stand in the way.
