Obama Tax Fairness Means Middle Class Pay More Than Rich

Forget the propaganda, the left isn’t really into raising taxes on the upper class. The left mainly hails from the upper class. Obama handily won the richest counties in the country. It’s the middle class that the left has always hated because they represent economic aspiration and the backbone of capitalism. And they’re the ones who get punished.

Middle-class workers will take a bigger hit to their income proportionately than those earning between $200,000 and $500,000 under the new fiscal cliff deal, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.

Earners in the latter group will pay an average 1.3 percent more – or an additional $2,711 – in taxes this year, while workers making between $30,000 and $200,000 will see their paychecks shrink by as much as 1.7 percent – or up to $1,784 – the D.C.-based think tank reported.

Overall, nearly 80 percent of households will pay more money to the federal government as a result of the fiscal cliff deal.

Four more years. Someone’s got to subsidize the welfare state and the wealthy don’t have nearly enough money to do that. You have to spread the pain to the Middle Class while shouting a lot about Wall Street even while you cash Wall Street checks and run for election on Wall Street money.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

      I'm not.

There's an idiot I saw who thinks that "austerity" (like they have in Greece!) involved "tax cuts for the rich"! They are so ignorant they didn't even look it up to see that Greece instituted tax increases, not tax cuts, as a part of their austerity plan. One of those people that think that tax cuts cause deficits.

I'm a bit surprised he didn't go further.

This does not suprise me one bit. It is interesting to note that this is one of the very few places where I am actually reading that the middle class is being taxed more. Most larger media outlets still report that only the rich got a tax hike while the middle class will not see a difference this year with this deal, BS! I just got my first pay check of the year and OMG! I see an instant 10% drop in income. Ouch

You'd only be surprised if you haven't been watching the news. Hello?? Did anyone catch that the Right fought for months AGAINST tax cuts for the middle class? This was part of the 'compromise' that was made in the 11th hour. If you want to know why you're paying more, ask the Right why they fought so long and so hard FOR the wealthy and AGAINST the middle class.

Any people in the government who propose new tax or tax hike to grab other people's money for their own interest (i.e. re-election and "legal" financial gains afterwards) should back their proposal with their own money (turn their money in, no financial leverage allowed). Let's see how long it will still be desirable for them to rob other people's money "legally" when their own money is at stake?

Two years ago, when Stinky (bo) touted the "payroll tax holiday" (an awful idea), he had behind him middle class folk who told what 40 bucks a month would mean to them……Pizza nite, movies, paying increasing energy bills, shoes for the kids, etc. and otherwise spend it to stimulate the economy. And if you (congress) are against that, then you're against the middle class. Has Stinks said anything about why those same people should no longer have that 40 bucks? No more pizza, movies……? Then gives Smokin' Joe the gaffe machine a 5k raise.

This is simple math. There is more total money in the middle class, and it is easier to get it. The middle class,by and large, cannot afford to make large bribes,ah, donations to Obama.

Unfortunately our schools do not graduate students who are proficient even in simple math anymore, so tricks like this work.

Just wait, you ain't seen anything yet. I am predicting that at the next State of the Union Address Obama will let his followers know what the rest of have been saying all along; that these tax increases not only didn't solve anything, but made things much worse. And he will then double down and tell his Cult Followers that we need to all make more sacrifices to fix our deficits and pay down the debt. He will then unveil his plans for Federal Sales Tax (VAT), a tax on ammunition and gun sales, a corporate holdings tax to tax their liquid assets and not just their profits, and a Wall St transaction tax.

But of course there will be no talk of spending cuts.
