Obama’s Most Dishonest State of the Union Address

In 1986, at the closing session of the Communist Party shindig in the Karl Marx Theater in Havana, Castro had declared, “Let no one think that what I have here is a lengthy speech; it is the party’s program.” He then went on to speak for 7 hours and 10 minutes.

Obama’s ridiculous 6600-word marathon is also not a lengthy speech; it is the party’s program. The professional flatterers and fawners in the media have long since given up describing the teleprompter-in-chief as a talented speaker. These days Obama gives speeches that not only sound like they were read from a teleprompter, but also written by a teleprompter.

The obscene performance began with a celebration of an economic recovery that exists only in Washington, D.C., which has grown fat on the money that its corrupt political interests have stolen from the rest of the country, and ended by comparing a woman waiting in line to vote for him with a police officer who risked his life to stop a mad gunman.

And in between these two cynical and ugly bookends was a dog’s dinner of out of control spending, class warfare and more bad ideas than even Castro could have come up with in seven hours.

As out of touch with the rest of the country as if he were speaking at the Karl Marx Theater in Havana, Obama claimed that spending was under control, the national debt was no longer a problem, the war in Afghanistan had been won, the economic recovery was here, unemployment was fading and Al Qaeda was a shadow of its former self.

Obama described the “sequester” that he had come up with as “a really bad idea” and blamed it on Congress. He took credit for the oil production that he had fought every step of the way and blamed Hurricane Sandy on global warming; a claim that even few global warming researchers are willing to make.

There were more calls to fix all those broken bridges, which he had somehow been unable to fix for four years, despite running trillion dollar deficits. And finally a proposal to really help the economy take off by legalizing 11 million illegal aliens and thereby doubling the unemployment rate in a single year.

Any Diogenes in the audience taking it upon himself to shout “liar” at every lie would have worn out his vocal chords in a matter of minutes.

Like most bad speakers, Obama has been reduced to relying on props. And since he isn’t allowed to bring a slideshow, the props are his designated victims.

“Gabby Giffords deserves a vote,” Obama insisted toward the end of his Castroesque word jumble of Soak-the-Rich, Ban-the-Guns and Help-the-Poor-by-Taking-Away-their-Jobs.  “The families of Newtown deserve a vote.”

They have a vote, of course, but what he really meant is that they should have not only a vote, but a veto on account of their moral supremacy as official victims. Before Havana-on-the-Potomac got started, one of the designated victims from three years ago came forward to say that Obama had betrayed her. But that’s also part of the program. The designated victim of today is Obama’s victim of tomorrow.

The people that Obama promises to help today will be put out of work by him tomorrow.

During the word marathon, victims come in handy as human touches in the middle of Obama’s latest expensive technocratic gimmick, but as soon as Obama gets what he wants, they’re yesterday’s news. And there are always gimmicks; whether it’s trading hubs with 3D printers or an Energy Security Trust.

With the 2013 State of the Union address, Obama finally discovered his inner Castro. Anyone who took part in a drinking game based around class warfare would have been under the table by the 2000th word as Obama dressed up all of his proposals with scarecrows made out of the rich.

Obama announced that he was in favor of Medicare cuts, further cuts than those already made by ObamaCare, but immediately tried to hide them by assuring his audience that the “wealthiest seniors” would have to pay more. Whenever any unpopular proposal was mentioned, the class warfare came out as a cheap distraction. And when the strawman in a top hat and monocle wouldn’t do, the leader of the least transparent administration brought out the euphemisms.

“We’ll bring down costs by changing the way our government pays for Medicare,” Obama said, “because our medical bills shouldn’t be based on the number of tests ordered or days spent in the hospital – they should be based on the quality of care that our seniors receive.” This is one of those ominous things that sound reassuring if you don’t think about them.

Hospitals charge based on expenses. If a hospital isn’t reimbursed for a test, it stops ordering it. If it isn’t reimbursed for a day spent in the hospital, it stops admitting Medicare patients. Quality of care is a euphemism for cutting Medicare expenses by forcing hospitals to reduce admissions through fines and denial of reimbursements. That not only cuts Medicare expenses directly, it also cuts them indirectly by killing senior citizens.

“Tonight, let’s declare that in the wealthiest nation on Earth, no one who works full-time should have to live in poverty, and raise the federal minimum wage to $9.00 an hour,” he declared, as if wages could be somehow separated from the rest of the economy without affecting the cost of living and the existence of those low-paying jobs that keep people from joining the masses of the unemployed.

Raising the minimum wage is just another scam. A tasty treat that looks good up front but leads to more lost jobs and a higher cost of living. Tethering minimum wage to the cost of living is like trying to lift yourself up off the ground by your own belt.

“We can say with confidence that America will complete its mission in Afghanistan, and achieve our objective of defeating the core of al Qaeda,” Obama bragged. The core of Al Qaeda had not been located in Afghanistan at any time during his administration, which made it that much easier to defeat.

While Obama lost the War in Afghanistan to the Taliban and will “complete the mission” by retreating and letting them have the country, Al Qaeda has spread across North Africa and came within a hair of taking over Mali.

North Korea had detonated a nuclear weapon and Obama warned its regime that successfully testing nuclear weapons “will only isolate them further”… except to countries like Iran and Pakistan looking to buy their nuclear technology.

Obama carefully tiptoed away from his disaster in Egypt, issued some more toothless warnings to Iran and Syria, and then having completed the demonstration of his international impotence, turned to the inevitable assault on the Bill of Rights.

And then finally the leader who has refused to be constrained by the Constitution, by any law or limitation, by the rights of others or by the laws of economics, by the truth or by any sense of shame, declared that, “this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another and to future generations; that our rights are wrapped up in the rights of others.”

The man who had rejected all obligations and bankrupted the United States for generations to come, who had cut healthcare for seniors and destroyed the economic future of the young, concluded his speech with the same cynicism and dishonesty with which he had begun it.

“Our conscience, a communist spirit, and a revolutionary vocation and will, were, are and will continue to be a 10,000 times more powerful than money,” Castro had declared at the end of his speech in 1986. In less than 15 years, history proved him thoroughly wrong. It will take even less time than that for history to disprove Hussein.

Listening to it, all the way from Israel, should have insulated a patriot from some of the outrages. But no matter how many times one listens to "The One", nor schools oneself in this and that, it never ceases to amaze, just how dangerous the Radical-in-Chief is.

In fact, his second term will pale in comparison to the first, even if one believes they are insulated from being shocked to their core – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/08/02/revealed-the-

His address, as galling and frightening as it is, is a gift. It should take the scales off of those still (incredibly) sitting on the fence, regarding his/their overall plans to push America off the cliff, to "equalize" it with third world countries. Seeing through his class warfare is child's play – or not.

The campaign slogan fot the Trotskyists in 2012 was "forward!". But very few understand where "forward!" leads. I am no longer afraid for America. It's too late for that. I'm ready for action. I will not go down without a fight! We must resist. We must begin to use the same tactics as the left, only more deftly.

We were really shaken when the left won the election. Even with the government/media complex behind them, I never in my wildest nightmares thought that we could lose. I underestimated how much Romney's religion would play on the white Christians. But the shock is wearing off. We are coming back to our senses, and we will come back more determined and committed than ever.

Thank you, Mr. Greenfield, for providing intellectual ammunition for the cause.

I agree we need to fight and not lie down. Every person should do what they can. And, believe. Believe that we CAN overcome. History is on our side if we do not succumb.

I think Romney's unwillingness to actually attack Obama might also have had something to do with it.

Rocco, I concur. The fact is, there are millions of adult white men who are armed and ready to lock & load. We're approaching the tipping point every day.

    • Lady_Dr says:

      Rocco,

I like your spirit. Look it wasn't just the white Christians – I know a black Christian who would not vote for Romney because of the past treatment of blacks by the Mormon church. Yet she had voted for McCain and was upset that her whole family supported Obama – go figure.

  20. Asher says:

Frankly we switched to watch the dog show in the middle of Obama's speech. We are tired of being lied to, and Obama never delivers on his promises, but takes the country in the opposite direction to malaise and destruction. You would think that people would get tired of being duped and attacked over and over again, its amazing how people fall for the Banana in the tailpipe trick and never learn…stupidity to believe this man has no end does it! Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Dr. Carsons have solutions they can deliver on with policies that are not detrimental to America, not this bogus rhetoric of Obama's that has led to total failure of the American Way of Life, spiritually, morally, and financially.

  21. Roger Dane says:

"Divide and conquer" and he has done that as has the progressive socialist party from the beginning. Go back to the later '20s and '30s in America, socialism is rampant and, methods or not, McCarthy was correct. FOIA and Venona prove without a doubt the ongoing march of socialist ideas in America and the under/uneducated electorate's joy at finding "freebies" everywhere. But that will end just as the Gulag signaled the end of "for the worker" in the USSR's history. The generational welfare recipients will be exterminated as will many of the fringe minority (read 'SA' in Germany) supporters of the movement. Obama is nothing but a mouthpiece and the machine behind him (and previous such proponents of socialism, Carter, LBJ, FDR, and Wilson) is becoming more and more visible. It will be too late when the full visage steps from behind the curtain and says "Continue to ignore me"… It was a nice run of over 230 years but ignorance and devotion to "bling" have worked their magic and our kids will be in chains. Very sad.

  22. mcmorrowpc says:

Thanks, Mr. Greenfield, for your article. Is it not amazing how easy it is to get a warm welcome from a hand selected public? Goebbels did a better job on the image, however. No matter how one cuts it, a lie is still a lie. Obama does not "misspeak" like Ms. Wasserman-Schulz. He lies like a serpent. The mother of Clarence Thomas had it right when she quipped that she "would vote for a dog before she voted for another Democrat."

  23. tagalog says:

Any party platform platform that takes 7 hours and 10 minutes to articulate is a party platform that is way too intrusive into public life.

    • Mark says:

It was Castro, not Obama who spoke 7 hours and 10 minutes. I think we need to keep things in some perspective. I didn't watch Obama's speech and I doubt it was exactly the same length as Fidel Castro's lengthy diatribe. I think we should also realize that the liberal dupes who like Castro actually in most cases don't want to live under any form of Communism. They are a kind of "liberal" (usually wealthy or young and stupid) who believe they can somehow score points by condemning the U.S.and denouncing anything it does and denying the truth that Cuba is a Communist prison and the truth about Islamic terrorism.. None of these "liberals" or "Progressives" are booking one way plane flights to Havana. They live very well here in the U.S. Some become lawyers, journalists, psychologists, run for political office as Democrats, open businesses, the list goes on. Actually very few now define themselves as Communists. They see themselves as Socialists usually or even more often"Progressives." They are almost always ant-Israel and supporters of the '"Arab Street," as they perceive it. Like some neoconservatives they believe they actually believe that the vast majority of Arabs want peace and liberal democracy. What the vast majority in most if not all Arab countries want is an election in order to elect an illiberal government to enforce Sharia Law and in most if not all cases drive Christians and any truly liberal parties into exile in the West. The western "Progressives" have no intention of moving to Egypt for example and living in an Islamist run nation. They simply close their eyes to the oppression of women, homosexuals, Christians, liberal journalists, etc. and spew lies against Israel and the U.S they are fed by Islamic extremists and terrorists and Communists here in the U.S. or on the internet. What we need to know and remember is that Arab oil will run out in 25 years and the views of the liberal educated Arab elite will grow as time goes on and liberal Arab women, homosexuals, liberals, etc. will eventually become the majority in many Arab countries as these nations mature. In the mean time we must continue the fight against Islamists and other terrorists and their fellow travellers who seek to destroy liberal democracy everywhere and impose their illiberal ideas everywhere. It will be a long fight and will be hard fought but we will win as long as we are willing to fight. Islamist will not win the entire world in the next 4 years. There will be elections here in the U.S. in 4 years and we must do all in our power to fight the "Progressives," and "liberals" and Communists who have allied themselves with enemies of the U.S.

Hell, I would make a better president. I was not a big fan of Romney but he would have done a good job but two things happened:
1-the election was clearly stolen by the Democrats (there was a LOT of voter fraud, and every state with voter ID went for Romney, in all the other states the fraud is still being documented but includes double voting, the dead voting, and illegals voting
2-a lot of very foolish Christians stayed home because they would not vote for a Mormon

His over the top self-flattery is all that matters to him, he'll say anything in order to pretend to himself that the economy is strong, recovery is fully underway, Afghanistan and al Qaeda defeated … he will say anything and utterly believe it. He can only believe that his every action is success, success, success, and reality is re-arranged to comport with his undeniable self-defined success. He sincerely believes everything he said, no matter how far it departs from the facts. This is far more than delusion. He's certifiably looney tunes. Next year he'll praise himself for imprisoning Americans, killing others, instigating civil insurrection, and disarming the world's bully. He'll be genuinely shocked that Americans are upset with him. He should either be committed, or impeached.

Obama in fact bears a lot of similarities to the “Rev. Al Sharpton”, except for the hair of course., but the typical black crybaby stuff and hatred of European civilization ( which is based on jealousy) is ever present.

Think about Barack’s ugly mind for a moment. Here is a man who rather than conduct himself in a truthful way chooses to be a Marxist instead. The reason is that Marxism takes everything and gives to others. It also does not require that a man be at all educated, skilled or even work. That naturally appeals to most minorities.

So this worlds first super black chief of the globe wants obviously what we used to call “n***er rich”, that is every first of the month da check comes, and the welfare folks used to spend heir government checks on junk and be broke two days later. That’s Obammys M.O., spend like there’s no tomorrow because for him, there’s always some hard working schmuck whose money you can take to give to Shanequia and her several babies for several baby-daddies.

Sounds harsh? Well, what I’m saying amounts to just words, what the Commander in Chieftin is actually doing is fundamentals transforming America into a bigger stink hole, global embarrassment, black/Hispanic ball of confusion such hat in a short time, we will all be wishing for the age when America’s European Christian civization was dominant, not the ghetto, liberal liars and their disgusting glitz and crime and perversity.

They don't care about spending because its serving this purpose and the American people have given Obama four more years to work his "magic" on the economy and our freedom. Already he's acting like a dictator, or just a plain dict. Pardon the lisp.

  40. WilliamJamesWard says:

I couldn't watch the speech if you want to call it that, it may go down in history as the words
of the last American President elected by idiots……..the future depends on the people and
what life is still in them, it will be a toss up between deep divisions in anti-Americans and
pro-Americans, slugs and workers, takers and providers, darkness and light………..
Obamaism= A long painful drawn out droll and rambling lie……………………William

  41. Let Us Pray says:

To most Americans it was a beautiful State of the Union speech, a sincere, positive, caring speech directly to the American people by quite possibly the finest President the United States has ever had in our country's entire history, Barack Hussein Obama. Americans are deeply grateful and thank the good Lord above that Obama Irrumator remains our Chief of State during these critical, trying times.

    • Roger says:

Were you on history channel watching a Reagan speech?

    • Ar'nun says:

How sad. The "finest President the United States has ever had" can't even get the economy back on trap after 4 years. And George W Bush (I'm sure you think he was the worst) helped the country recover after less than 3.

Also, your opening statement; most Americans were watching Honey Boo Boo and Pawn Stars.

      • EarlyBird says:

"And George W Bush (I'm sure you think he was the worst) helped the country recover after less than 3."

Please tell me you're drunk. W. Bush inherited a surplus. He immediately decided to cut taxes then launched a catastrophic and unnecessary war in Iraq which cost us ONE TRILLION DOLLARS, which we borrowed from China to fight. And he ADDED to Medicare goodies, which will cost us about another ONE TRILLION DOLLARS, all while refused to increase taxes, i.e., government revenue to pay for these things.

Because standard GOP orthodoxy, he fiddled while Wall Street brought us to the worst economic times since the Great Depression. We were losing 800,000 jobs a month when Obama was first sworn in.

Though a good man, W. Bush was the worst president ever. If Obama had failed half as badly, you lobotomized rednecks, bigots, ignoramuses, schizophrenics, Bible thumpers, haters and Neanderthals would have lynched him by now. You're all depraved.

        • Rebecca says:

Thank you for recognizing that W was a good man. But he is not even close to being the worst President we have had. I believe Obama, however, will be considered one of the worst by historians. The deficit did go up under Bush. It peaked in 2004. But isn't it amazing how the deficit was going down in spite of the tax cuts and the war effort. It was going down until the Democrats got control of congress. And it is also interesting to note that the surplus years under Clinton occurred under a Republican led congress.

        • Anthony says:

          Early Tool,

Are you a brotha? Because you write like you are either a bro, or a useful white storm/shock trooper for the LGBT/No One is Illegal/Black-Diversity is damn Beautiful/Homo-Marriage Brigade.

Do you realize just how stupid you are?

        • Jim_C says:

          Yep!

    • Stephen_Brady says:

I sincerely hope you were being sarcastic, considering the definition of the word "Irrumator" …

      • WilliamJamesWard says:

I note Stephen that amongst the definitions of Irrumator is "black death living amongst us",
I think the possibility of sarcasm is high, and maybe just a half hearted black death……….
        but fully sarcastic…………………………..William

    • SCREW SOCIALISM says:

LUP, Did your leg tingle too, like Chris Matthews leg?

  42. anonymous says:

I couldn't watch it (Obama makes me ill — I detest him), so I appreciate your informed commentary on what took place. (What a disaster in the White House!)

    • EarlyBird says:

Yeah, I've noticed many of you idiots couldn't "bear" to watch Obama speak. And if you tried, you nodded off into your beer 1/4 of the way into it, since the speech didn't involve wrestling, monster trucks or shotguns.

And you couldn't follow all those multi-syllabic words, so you came here for Danny "Goebbels" Greenfield to tell you what you're supposed to believe.

      • Rebecca says:

It's not that I couldn't bear to watch him speak, it's just that I've heard it all before. I think he recycles a lot of his talking points from previous state of the union speeches.

      • SCREW SOCIALISM says:

EarlyTurd, The proof that fools like you have nothing to argue against Rubio is that you are left with whining that he grabbed a bottle of water during his speech..

        Pathetic EarlyTurd.

      • Anthony says:

        Early A-Hole

Are you Black? You reveal yourself to be at least as hateful as me.

  43. UCSPanther says:

You dare criticize his Omnipotence El Presidente?!

    DAT'S WACIST!!!!!!!!!

  44. Tracy scanlon says:

Who else were we supposed to elect?I didn't hear Mitt Romney or his party coming up with anything.I am not as politically savvy as I should be,but I know that Israel belongs to the Jewish people as it is told over and over again in the old testament no argument there.Being a christian first politics second this Gentile is for GOD and ISRAEL have a nice day!.

  45. obama guy says:

Give it up Daniel Greenfield. It's over.

  46. garak99 says:

The one thing I wish Obama would have added to the SOTU speech would have been Mr. Speaker, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Glenn Beck, Rush Linbaugh, FOX News, NRA May I remind you I won reelection so each and ever one of you can Kiss my Black Ass.

    • Mike in VA says:

And then Boehner would have reminded the Alinskyite in Chief that him and his party still control the House and that Obama can Kiss his White Ass if he wants to get anything through Congress.

      Viva la Gridlock, progs.

      • garak99 says:

Name one thing they did pass through Obama proposed ? all they are doing is obstructing there doing that to the Violence Against Woman Act HOe can you be for Violence Against Woman ?

        • reader says:

He is sending F-16 to people who commit the most violence against women to your utmost delight, troll. Smile wider.

        • Roger says:

It wasn't just about violence to women. There was other things in there the senate knew wouldn't fly but insisted just to have an issue to beat them with.

Why do you think we needed a federal statute when states have laws against domestic violence?

Do you think more laws would stop anything, seriously?

    • EarlyBird says:

Garak, it's fun to pi$$ on the delusional, dying, rump end of the conservative movement with actual REALITY, isn't it? Sorta like shooting fish in a barrel. (I actually feel badly some times, sort of like messing around with the mentally ill.)

      Have fun!

      • Roger says:

Romney was no conservative. So, his defeat wasn't a defeat for conservatism. It was a defeat for the country club republicans and the RINO's like Karl Rove.

    • SCREW SOCIALISM says:

      garak00,

Correction, BO has a HALF Black Ass.

  47. Mike in VA says:

Thanks to Dan for reminding me why I had more valuable things to do with my time than listen to the Alinskyite in Chief's lies and long-winded collectivist drivel.

  48. EarlyBird says:

You all sound like paranoid schizophrenics.

Obama is an unreconstructed, old school liberal who doesn't know the first thing about how businesses operate or how they are incentivized to create wealth and jobs. His instincts are to tax and spend to solve most problems in the US.

In other words, he's just an old fashioned big government American liberal ala' most of the 20th Century.

Don't forget that those liberals did a LOT of good for America, in fact helped us establish a genuine middle class and the "land of opportunity." The GI Bill, interstate highways and rail systems, the moon race, etc., would all be anathema to you radical children on this site.

There are a lot of corrections to make after 30+ years of going SO far to the right as we have. Oppose him factually, but stop with the paranoid, ludicrous, infantile fantasies and calls for armed revolt.

  49. obama guy says:

I love America and I love Obama. This is a great country.

  50. obama guy says:

Why do you folks hate America and our President so much?

    • reader says:

Someone declaring his intent to fundamentally transform a country cannot possibly love it. That someone is Obama. This is what he did declare and this is what he is trying to do. He hates this country and it shows.

      • Jim_C says:

Reader, this country is transforming, whether Obama is president or whether Reagan comes back from the grave. It is transforming, and will continue to do so. Whether we decide to admit that it is, and create policies that address those things, or whether we stay in denial, pout, and pretend Leave it to Beaver was real, is up to us.

    • Rebecca says:

Why do you love him so much? It can't be because he is doing a good job as President. You would not be so glib if our economy was as it is now and a Repulican were President. You would be decrying the high unemployment rate, the high gas prices, the rising cost of basic necessities. The ballooning and dangerous deficit. The state of the Middle East. Benghazi would still be frontpage news in every "mainstream" magazine and newspaper. We would be discussing how the Republican president is further eroding our freedoms by allowing drone strikes on American citizens overseas. I could go on and on. But I think you get the idea.

    • SCREW SOCIALISM says:

Sorry BO drone, the President is subject to the Legislative and Judicial branches of government.

Speak Your Mind
