While ferment grips the Arab world in the Middle East and North Africa and all eyes are on Libya, Palestinian terrorists continue their deadly activities against Israel including a bombing in Jersualem yesterday and rocket attacks on Israeli cities launched from Gaza.
President Obama Continues To Get A Free Pass For His War Policies From Most (But Not all) On The Left
President Barack Obama has launched a third war in a Muslim country, expanded the war in Afghanistan and is continuing many of the national security policies of former President George W. Bush, including keeping Guantanamo open, indefinite detentions of enemy combatants, rendition and military trials.
The three week continuing resolution (CR) just passed by the House with very modest cuts in order to keep the government running while negotiations with the White House and Senate Democrats proceed should be the last olive branch. And the cuts should also include some lefty sacred cows such as elimination of funding for public broadcasting.
According to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, a majority of Americans say they oppose efforts to weaken the collective bargaining rights of public employee unions and are also against cutting the pay or benefits of public workers to reduce state budget deficits. These findings, which the Times reports on p.1 in its March 1st edition, are consistent with some other recent polls, but are misleading because of the way in which the questions were framed.
