We knew this was coming. No American victory in this day and age, not even the long-overdue death of terror mastermind Osama bin Laden, is safe from political hijacking by the useful idiots of the Left. Within hours of hearing the good news, left-wing Daily Beast flunky Peter Beinart took to the keyboard to declare that the War on Terror is finally over.
Last week, the New York Daily News reported that Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, operational mastermind within the al Qaeda network, vowed to “unleash a ‘nuclear hellstorm’ if Osama Bin Laden was ever captured or assassinated.”
Last week, you couldn’t turn on the television or get on the web without being subjected to some sort of coverage of the royal wedding. It was truly a global phenomenon, and the American fascination with it was remarkable. What other event would prompt 22.8 million viewers across the country to wake up at an ungodly hour to witness an event taking place thousands of miles away? (Worldwide viewership is estimated at a staggering 2 billion, reportedly making the ceremony the most-watched event in history.)
There are times when those on the Left arise to defend Israel and end up proving, ironically, that American liberalism’s break with the Jewish state is real and dramatic.

Hallelujah! Americans gathering outside of the White House last night, shouting “USA! USA!,” were celebrating the news that Osama Bin Laden is dead – brought to justice early Sunday morning for his crimes against humanity by the bullets of U.S. Joint Special Operations Command forces in a mission ordered by President Obama. Upon taking office, President Obama had made the killing or capture of Bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda. Now we have killed the monster and captured his body.
