Temple University Charges Unconstitutional ‘Security’ Fee for Geert Wilders Event; Dutch Trial Begins Today over Controversial Expression
January 20, 2010
Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ trial begins today in Amsterdam over his controversial remarks about terrorism and Islam. While such a trial would be unconstitutional in the United States thanks to the First Amendment, students at Temple University in Philadelphia are nevertheless facing an unconstitutional, after-the-fact security fee levied by the university for hosting a presentation by Wilders.
Professor Richard Antoun, Antropology professor known for his book “Understanding Fundamentalism: Christian, Islamic, and Jewish Movements,” was stabbed to death inside a University science building. The suspect has been identified as Abdulsalam Al-Zahrani, 46, a cultural anthropology student who was working on his dissertation.

From the Columbia Spectator – Controversial Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ right to free speech was expressed at Columbia University, where he spoke on Wednesday October 21st. He was met with little protest, even though many on campus questioned his views. Even the College Republicans, the sponsoring group, refused to support any of his statements against Islam.
From the AP – PHILADELPHIA — Amid tight security and a large turnout of protesters, Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders told an assembly of Temple University students that Europe and America must fight an ongoing “stealth jihad” that threatens democracy and free speech.
