Harris is correct and “Presidential politics is about storytelling” then the Obama campaign took an enormous risk using a narrative that left a lot to the individual imagination. Obama’s ambiguous call for change, created a fill-in-the-blank scenario for independents and moderates, and a call-to-arms for progressives.
