Fox Turns On Wilders

Why is the network joining the attack against the Dutch politician?

Geller: “Was Beck saying that standing up to defend the ‘equality of men and women, the equality of homosexuals and heterosexuals, the separation of church and state’ and ‘freedom of speech’ is fascist?”

In “Glenn Beck, Think Before You Preach” in Human Events today, Pamela Geller calls out Glenn Beck for smearing Geert Wilders: Something very disturbing happened last Monday on FOX. Glenn Beck, who has, for the most part, steered clear of jihad, sharia and Islamic supremacism, put his toe in the…

When Fox News Might as Well Be MSNBC: Special Report Trashes Geert Wilders

Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier featured a segment tonight on Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ blasphemy trial in the Netherlands. (See some of NRB’s John L. Work’s posts on it here and here.)
The segment featured these descriptors of Wilders:
“A man who inspires fierce emotions.”
“Anger on the streets of London. The object of the demonstration [...]

Spencer: Geert Wilders and the Death of Free Speech

In Human Events this morning I revisit the Wilders free speech death watch, showing that Geert Wilders has about as much chance of getting a fair trial as did Nikolai Bukharin: During his State of the Union address, Barack Obama criticized the Supreme Court for overturning major portions of the…

Court Rejects Wilders’ Witnesses – International Free Press Society

Dutch politician Geert Wilders was visibly annoyed when he failed to get what he asked for from the three judges hearing his case at the Amsterdam District Court. Mr Wilders, through his lawyer Bram Moszkowicz, had requested that 17 witnesses testify as part of his defence against charges that include inciting hatred of Muslims and [...]

Wilders wants jihadist murderer to testify at this trial

This is a canny move, since Mohammed Bouyeri cited the Qur’an to justify his murder of Theo Van Gogh. How, then, can Geert Wilders be guilty of “hate speech” simply for pointing out that the words of the Qur’an have incited Muslims to commit acts of violence against unbelievers? “Dutch…

Temple University Charges Unconstitutional ‘Security’ Fee for Geert Wilders Event; Dutch Trial Begins Today over Controversial Expression
January 20, 2010

Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ trial begins today in Amsterdam over his controversial remarks about terrorism and Islam. While such a trial would be unconstitutional in the United States thanks to the First Amendment, students at Temple University in Philadelphia are nevertheless facing an unconstitutional, after-the-fact security fee levied by the university for hosting a presentation by Wilders.
