There’s nothing peaceful about pro-terror rallies. It’s no wonder that violence accompanies the pro-Hamas crowd, whether it’s the assaults on Capitol police officers during the pro-Hamas insurrection, bottles thrown at police at a pro-Hamas rally in Brooklyn, or this killing in Los Angeles, terrorist supporters keep showing that they’re terrorists.
An elderly Jewish man attending a pro-Israel rally in California has died after a “physical altercation” with a pro-Palestinian protester, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department announced on Monday evening.
A verbal altercation broke out between 69-year-old Paul Kessler and an unnamed protester on West Lake and Thousand Oaks Boulevards in Ventura County on Sunday, per a department press release.
“The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and has not ruled out the possibility of a hate crime,” the department wrote.
Kessler’s autopsy at the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be blunt force head injury and the manner of death to be homicide, per the release.
Material on social media appears to show Mr. Kessler before he was killed, after the assault and the pro-Hamas rally going on afterward.

Conejo Valley Antifascists, a local antifa group, decided to slur the victim and defend antisemitism, then it posted that, “calling this incident ‘Anti-Semitism’ is ignorant. Supporting freedom for Palestinians ≠ anti/Semitism and this is a dangerously irresponsible post that will only increase the already toxic divisiveness.”
It’s dangerously divisive to suggest that those who engage in the murder of Jews and those who kill Jews are antisemitic.

In 1969 as an editor of a Jewish student newspaper I interviewed Meir Kahane. As a young Zionist Socialist he made my skin crawl with every word how Jews in America just don’t get it. Then moving to Israel living in the north, family getting shelled constantly children learning the siren goes off were every shelter was on the kibbutz and you have at most a minute to get there. Serving in 2 wars, learning socialism is great especially for children if you have a lot of other people’s money, came back to America. As a blue collar worker started my own business, every once in a while felt the slur of anti-Semitism, when told you can’t be Jewish you get your hands dirty. Had tried to teach my children to be vigilant but not to hate that there are those who hate us and don’t even know why. Now with my oldest grandchild in High School coming home one day and telling me Saba it was horrible they kept screaming at me how we Jews are killing children in Gaza. I sat them down with the others and gave them a history lesson I had thought they knew but put it away somewhere in the back of their minds and like others never thought it would come to America. At which point it came to me after all these years what Meir Kahane said to me, we just don’t get it. Sadly since coming back here never wanted a gun since I have seen up close what they can do to a person, but last week applied for my FOID card. But I do think it is past the time for Jewish communities to bring back the JDL since no one else will protect us, like we will.

I read Flexner’s “Washington, the Indispensable Man” and it is a wonderful biography. Washington shines brightly as an example of beautiful manliness throughout his life. He had to deal with so much subterfuge from lesser men who wanted his power.
Now, in turn we have to deal with those lessers tearing down his statues.

I was hoping to see the JDL return. It appears to me the Jewish Community will not get a fair shake from the their local powers that be.
Kahane said that Jews are supposed to care for other Jews. His JDL started in Brooklyn, NY to protect Jews who were getting mugged when they came home from work. JDL called police who said they did not have enough personnel to protect the victims. JDL said they would escort Jews home. For that, the police showed up. Protecting others was treated as a problem. Kahane was murdered in New York by a Muslim who soon also shot a postal police officer. The killer was acquitted. The murder and acquittal should be considered part of the war on terror, which I date to the assassination of Robert Kennedy.
Any good American/veteran like myself will help protect you. You are not alone. I am not Jewish but we are Americans and there is no good reason for what is going on today but progressive communism. I loved Kahane. The whole world hated him because he was right. Israel kicked him out of the Knesset for his tough stance on Arabs. Notice that his assassination is never mentioned.

Thanks Daniel! Such demonstrations are inherently prone to violence (madness of crowds, mob rule, lynching parties etc.) Saw that already at Berkeley demonstrations in the 1970s. I always try to avoid such crowds.

I saw a mob go wild at a surf festival in Huntington Beach. They burned down a lifeguard station They also rolled out the lifeguard’s ATVs and burned those before they torched the station. They did steal all the T-shirts and tourist stuff and handed them out to the crowd, though.

Prior to the 1970s, nearly all immigrants allowed into the US came from Europe. Generally, immigrants from Europe were at least indwelt with western/Christian values. Since most immigrants had the same core values the melting pot concept worked. Democrats in the 60s changed immigration policy to allow all cultures to immigrate to the US.
