The excitement is in the air. Kamala Harris is about to head to Chicago where, before a watching world, she will be crowned queen of the left, or as they still quaintly put it, receive the Democrat party’s nomination for president of the United States. In accord with her new stature, Harris is adopting a suitably statesmanlike posture. At a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday, she even produced a mangled, pseudo-profound utterance that will have the establishment media ululating in adoration over her gravitas, her intelligence, her wisdom, and above all, her joy! Joy! Joy!
Here is the latest wisdom from the left’s newest hero: “…And that’s what our election is about. Our election is about understanding the importance of this beautiful country of ours in terms of what we stand for around the globe as a democracy. As a democracy, we know there’s a duality to the nature of democracy. On the one hand, incredible strength when it is intact. What it does for its people to protect and defend their rights. Incredibly strong. And incredibly fragile.”
Kamala word salads are so back: “Our election is about understanding the importance of this beautiful country of ours in terms of what we stand for around the globe as a democracy. Harris delivered this pronouncement while her Lady-In-Waiting Tim Walz stood behind her, looking pensive or miserable, depending on your point of view. Did the flicker of a thought cross his mind about how Harris was taking a great many words to say very little, and that some of her sentences actually made very little sense, if they made any at all? It’s more likely that Tim Walz, a longtime party apparatchik, years ago forbid himself from thinking such thoughts, and was focusing simply on looking as if the boss was saying something deep, because it seemed like maybe she was, and he knows enough not to break character.
But what was it that Harris actually said? Her sentences were overextended and needlessly complicated, but what she was actually saying was clear enough. Our election, she said, is about understanding the importance of America in terms of our global significance as the world’s foremost democracy. So far so good, at least from the leftist perspective. The line from this authoritarian and undemocratic regime, which has framed its principal opponent for numerous bogus crimes and collaborated with the social media giants to limit the speech of its critics, is that Donald Trump is a threat to democracy. Elect these Marxist authoritarians, goes the line, or democracy in America will come to an end.
Never mind that there is no democracy in America in the first place, and that what we have is not a democracy, but a representative republic. Harris’ word salad is so far fairly clear: Vote for us to save democracy both in the U.S. and around the world. At that point, however, her words become harder to parse. “As a democracy,” she says, “we know there’s a duality to the nature of democracy.” This sounds as if it must mean something, but ultimately what it comes down to is that Harris wants to say simultaneously that democracy is the strongest, best, most powerful system of government in the world, and that it can be destroyed in a matter of days by one man, the Orange Bad one.
And so Harris offers her contradiction as if it were a thought-provoking paradox: Democracy has “incredible strength,” but it is at the same time “incredibly fragile.” It can free societies, liberate women, and enforce justice, but all it takes is one vote for the wrong presidential candidate to do it in.
Harris’s statement thus boils down to saying that democracy is important and wonderful, and don’t ruin it all by voting for the wrong person. The democracy that Harris reveres is the democracy that was practiced in the old Soviet Union, and is practiced today in places such as the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the Soviet Union’s 1950 legislative election, for example, there was a full slate of candidates, but every candidate was nominated by the Communist party. All candidates had to accept the rule of the Communist party over the country. But there were lots of people to vote for! That’s what democracy “does for its people to protect and defend their rights.”
It’s the same in Iran. The Islamic Republic, in fact, might have even more democracy than the Soviet Union did. In the recent presidential election, “reformist” Masoud Pezeshkian won the presidency with 54.76% of the vote. The only catch was that both Pezeshkian and his rival, Saeed Jalili, had to have the approval of Iran’s Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Khamenei, or they wouldn’t have been able to run. So it’s clear: Iran is a democracy, but only within the limits of Islamic rule.
Kamala Harris wants to see the U.S. as a democracy, but only within the limits of the rule of the far left. That’s the ominous edge on her latest word salad. It may take awhile to figure out what she’s saying, and when you do, you wish you hadn’t.
I believe what the democraps mean when they say that if we don’t elect them democracy will end, is that they will end it to keep power.
It looks like the Demon-Rats have no cure for their Stupidity Harris/Walz supporters are incurably Stupid
On the contrary, there is a “cure” for there kind of stupidity. It’s element #82 on the periodic table: Plumbum (Pb): aka “lead.” We just haven’t gotten fed up enough yet to apply the cure.
Lead is a very cheap and effective cure for the demonRat disease. Two doses in the temple or the back of the head and………!!
Is there a contest of who can talk the longest without actually saying anything?
Yes, it’s called The Schultz Award. “I say nothing! I hear nothing! I see nothing! I know nothing!”
Obama won the First award. Biden the second. Now Kamala is in the running and is on top. “Nothing” works. How can you attack “NOTHING!”
The one thing the Democrats are really good at is dishing out the bull manure.
They’re great at it. ‘Democracy is incredibly strong – and incredibly fragile’.
So what.
What about the wide open border and depleting of our resources, Kamala?
And the out-of-control crime? And the sky high cost of everything? And
shortage of some medications? And sexualizing of our children? And the
anti-Israel Palestinian protests screaming for America’s downfall? What are
your views on all that, Kamala?
Kamala and Hillary’s “plan” follows Saul Alinsky right down the line. It’s all derivative of Marx and his flawed concept with the added subversive techniques of Stalin, Mao, and the rest of those scumbags to deceive and manipulate the masses. I am a historian and while Disadvantaged makes a few good points his overall interpretation is flawed and erroneously cynical. Our 167 colonial years led to a break from a controlling Monarchy. We were founded as a Republic under Rule of Law. Manifest Destiny was not an inherent part of America’s founding as he seems to believe and was borne of the best defensive strategy to global encroachment in our Hemisphere. Disad seems to have conflated our Revolution with our evolution. If it hadn’t been for our integrity as a nation the world would have succumbed to global tyranny in the middle of the last century. We only suck now because of the determination and cunning of those who still yearn for global tyranny. Hence Kamala and her cabal of lying, anti-Americans.
“Never mind that there is no democracy in America in the first place, and that what we have is not a democracy, but a representative republic.”
What we have in America today is an advanced welfare state on the precipice of becoming a fascist dictatorship with socialist slogans.
“It is true that the welfare-statists are not socialists, that they never advocated or intended the socialization of private property, that they want to “preserve” private property—with government control of its use and disposal. But that is the fundamental characteristic of fascism.” – Ayn Rand
Whaaa, Whaaaa, Whaaaaaaaa!
This country is not what I, me, the great THX, wants it to be. Even though I will not lift a finger to save it, other than to push a philosophy that will never be adopted, I will never express support for the country as founded, that has given me the opportunity to be the daily jerk that I am.
Long live the Objectivist fascist dictatorship. — THX 1138
How very uplifting…..NOT!
I heard Michelle Obama say last night that Kamala was “THE” most qualified person ever to run for POTUS.
It sure seems like I heard that one before, if I could just remember where.
And didn’t I hear Obama pontificate about past 4 years of turmoil? Was he referring to Biden?
Oh really!? What did Kamala do, got on her knees and “polished” Moochelle’s (aka, Michael) knob while they were backstage??
I don’t know why you got so many down votes. I don’t exactly agree on everything you wrote but I think pretty good bit of it. You tell me.
Our government has grown bigger and more expensive and not always better. I don’t see $35 trillion worth of improvement, but we can see that much debt.
And how is lobbying not considered legalized bribery?
We are spoken to like we are idiots. “The dual nature of democracy.”, “WE BEAT PJARMA THIS YEAR.” just to list two examples. And people fall for that.
What are we really doing?
We have a government that censored us! We are being pushed to drive EVs when there are children mining the minerals for the batteries. Abused children who sometimes die at that labor. And that has been ignored. Is that supposed to be good? Or okay? And that’s not nearly all the problems with EVs. Who is going to benefit from that?
As for war, GWB got us into a second war with Iraq. Why? Obama got us into a number of military actions or wars in I think about 9 different countries and killing a lot of civilians in the process. Was that supposed to be okay?
With all that going on it should tell you something is wrong. here. Something is just not working.
I don’t know that America started out to be an empire but is what we have now supposed to be considered visionary?
I hope Trump can get in there and fix things. I really hope he can. I think Harris would be in way over her head if she got in.
However you feel, politics has not served us very well. If you don’t believe that, just look at where we are now.
your moniker says it al: Disadvantaged
you’re disadvantaged in your mindsets is all
you have narcissistic poverty mindsets and you refuse to be reached with the truth
GOD”S Truth and what works
If that major nuclear war comes, will you be cheering (briefly) from the sidelines?
ahh, a different type of word salad. Thanks for that.
I never liked salad of any kind. This ditsy bimbo reminds me of why.
Disadvantaged:
You’re onto something but unfortunately, unmitigated hard truths are quite often stultifying to say the least. So much so that in most instances, people have a hard time accepting it and refuse to consider it. That’s why you’re getting push back on your comment.
I, on the other hand, know and understand the difference between idealism and reality and thus agree with some of what you’re saying. What and where I do disagree with you are some of your conclusions which I deem as hyper cynicism that arises out of a deep rooted animus towards America and its people.
But you’re entitled to your opinion just as I, we, are entitled to disagree with what you say. After all, it’s matter of perspective and opinion which in America, we have a God given and Constitutionally protected right to express, That’s the beauty of America and OUR US Constitution and OUR Bill of Rights.
Name a country on this planet that is better than America?
Make that a Wilted Lettuce Salad
Heels Up Harris has a turkey neck and an ugly man face. I’d rather take a dick up my ass than even look at her.
I cannot find or view the video. “Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…” appears, but never gets beyond that. statement. I have tried to set up Trinity Audio but cannot. It tells me my email is already in the system. Any suggestions?
strange that the hero of the current band of miscreants is karl marx . white , and jewish . i guess he didnt have white privilege . this quote from his poem ” human pride ” says it all , and is the charter for the democrats . he admits that his aim is not to improve the world or to reform or revolutionize it , but simply to ruin it and to enjoy its being ruined . so despite the democrats saying they want to improve the lot of americans the opposite is their modus operandi according to the lefts hero .
