Gallup has its latest report on trust in the media. And unsurprisingly there isn’t any. Only 1 in 10 Republicans and 1 in 4 independents trust the media.
But that’s not surprising since we don’t have a free press, we have state propaganda media which is rapidly burning through whatever little trust it has to achieve leftist political goals.
In 1976, a majority of all Americans trust the media. By the 90s, there was a steep drop and by the time Obama arrived on the scene and the media spent all of its time singing his praises, it was all over.
But, like the news, that’s not news.
What is interesting is how Dems love the media between presidential elections and lose trust in its around elections.
In 2016, only 51% of Dems trusted the media, by 2017 it was up to 72%, now it’s back down to 54%. 59% in 2004 and up to 70% in 2005. One issue may simply be that no matter how biased the media is, it’s never biased enough during an election. Understand that pattern and you understand some of the media’s extremism. It’s trying to satisfy the insane demands of an insane base. That’s why lefty social media conspiracies eventually make their way into media narratives.
David Brock, the Hillary whisperer, decided that the New York Times was a right-wing outlet biased against his candidate.
Brock, the former right-wing journalist-turned-pro-Clinton crusader, takes aim at a top New York Times editor in a soon-to-be released book obtained by POLITICO. In the book, titled “Killing the Messenger: The Right-Wing Plot to Derail Hillary Clinton and Hijack Your Government,” Brock accuses senior politics editor and former Washington bureau chief Carolyn Ryan of helping to turn the paper into a “megaphone for conservative propaganda” by unfairly targeting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Sounds insane, but there’s a significant portion of the base that thinks this way and that’s what the Gallup numbers may reflect. The media is being driven to more extreme forms of bias and propaganda to try and keep up with a base that thinks anything short of calling Trump ‘Hitler’ every day on the front page while calling for his immediate arrest is a collaboration with the far right.
With his history, it’s amazing he has a nose left.

So is the media an arm of government propaganda, or is it constantly trying to satisfy the demands of its extremist base? It can’t be both, see.

Embrace the healing power of “and.” I worked for the federal government in D.C. It is completely dominated by the left from moderates to communists. My agency, there were about 360 attorneys. When the agency’s Dem chairman was going to go on William Buckley’s “Firing Line” for an interview, his office called me to brief him on what to expect because I was the only attorney in the entire agency they could think of who might be familiar with the program. I think the best question is why anyone would trust our garbage “news media” at this point. The vast majority of it has completely disgraced itself and become simply the P.R. firm for the DNC.
Good numbers. Not trusting MSM is a sign of being cured of brainwashing and delusional worldviews.
