Onscreen-tough guy Robert De Niro says Donald Trump is “an idiot” who, “wants to destroy this country.”
Renowned historian Rosie O’Donnell famously maintains that Trump is, “the worst thing that ever happened to the United States.”
Good-humored Will Smith — who famously introduced “throwing hands” to the Oscars — called American citizen’s support for Trump “absolute collective insanity.”
Constitutional authority Bruce Springsteen says Trump is “a moron,” and “The most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.”
Public intellectual and role model Howard Stern says he, “hates Trump voters and they are stupid.”
On and on we could go; there is no shortage of panic, prattle and extreme consternation coming from the entertainment industry regarding the reality of President Trump. But guess what, Hollywood? And get this, uber-leftist-Rolling Stone?
Nobody cares.
Nobody cares what disgruntled, far-removed-from-much-of-reality celebrities “think.” The Founding Fathers who bled and died to give us America would be pleased that those voting for the Trump-Vance ticket care not one stitch about approval from “the elites.”
The outraged celebs need to remember how their opulent bread got buttered. The American people who see the movies and buy the music put all those dollars in their entitled pockets. And millions of hard-working, God-fearing Americans who have watched this country veer extremely left are so unmoved and unimpressed by the opinions of Hollywood.
It is fine to publicly disagree with a leader’s position and policies. But the daily outrage and acrimony spewed forth from the pampered celebrity socialists? Well, that’s another story.
Star power has its limits
Part of the outrage must be due to the fact that, deep down, some of the entertainment elites must realize that their voice no longer matters. Democrat leaders and the entertainment industry have been in bed for years. Now, all of the star power in the country (and from parts of the world) cannot get Kamala elected. That, my friends, is sinking in. And for many a celeb, it hurts. Boo hoo.
Taylor Swift has, we presume, injected credibility into the Harris campaign through her endorsement. Canadian-citizen-but-in-America-since-1966 Neil Young has been a vocal supporter of Harris (and an even more vocal critic of Trump). Did you know that Kamala has the support of celebrities Utkarsh Ambudkar, Poorna Jagannathan and Yvette Nicole Brown? Further, do you know who these important folks are? Neither do we. But that’s not the point! They’re famous!
What these beautiful people think should matter to us! After all — who are we unknown plebians who work “real jobs” to question the ascended wisdom of celebrities?
All of the following, to make this point: Unless a leader/celebrity has a commitment to objective moral truth, that is, unless they have righteous convictions and live a life of true character, no one should care about their political opinions. Why? Because morality comes from God. If someone’s moral compass is not tethered to God, why should I look to them for direction?
Keeping our feet on the ground
I remember one of the first times I was at a function where there were some bona fide celebrities in attendance. In the green room, there were easily half a dozen Grammy winners and also a couple of people who had just appeared in a film that was No. 1 at the box office. Sure, I was star-struck. But watching these famous faces eat from the buffet table, spill a beverage on their shirt, fumble in their pockets for something, and just not be “on,” it dawned on me how normal these folks appeared. I deeply respected the people in the room, but they didn’t inhale angel breath, or exhale rainbows. They were just people in a different line of work than me.
That’s why Trump-related indignation by the elites is, well, irrelevant. Meaningless. Hollywood, please remember that America made you rich and gave you a platform. For most celebrities, the odds are extremely high that they wouldn’t have gotten that opportunity anywhere else.
Thomas Jefferson famously said, “In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.” To most in the entertainment industry, all of life is about style. The confusion of style for substance is why many celebs will wax eloquent about saving the planet or the tyranny of body shaming but think nothing of murdering a human through abortion. They know no true principles; by this, I mean objective moral principles.
It has been my pleasure to meet a fair number of entertainment figures. I can deeply respect the music and films created by the incredibly talented people in LA and NY, many of whom have sacrificed their lives for their art. There is merit in that, and the people and their art can be inspiring, for sure. But remember, even famous people are just people.
Dr. Alex McFarland is a youth, religion and culture expert.
With all of the anti-Trump vitriol from the “hollywood stars” dripping out, I know I have been on the right path since 2016 in my support of Trump.
I will take heed of Jefferson’s advice and continue to stand like a rock.
Screw the fatuous Left.
Springstine is like Zombie walking around without a mind and No Free Will of their own Taylor Swift is running the wrong way and Democrat Supporters from Show-Biz march when the Sirens blow like the Elio in the George Pal movie The Time Machine
When Hollywood celebrities started using events like the Oscarcast (already an overlong, pretentious cattle call) to express their baleful politics (hideous ugly and vastly overrated Jew hating crone Vanessa Redgrave, Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, Hanoi Jane or Marlon Brando, who couldn’t even be bothered to show up personally) they should have been booed off stage and pelted with rotten eggs. It’s gotten to the point now where even individuals as far down the celebrity food chain as Joy Behar, Ashley Judd and Eminem are freelance commentators and stage of the world and “threats to democracy”.
In looking over those referenced, Robert De Niro, age 81, should take a long look in the mirror. He became a father again at age 79. While pounding his chest in gorilla-like fashion, he apparently forgot the importance of his youngest child’s need for a father growing up to adulthood. But as egos go, his has long ago crossed the zenith of his talent and his youngest child will likely pay the price of losing their father.; ditto that refrain with Al Pacino. Howard Stern has long been known as a moral midget along with the plethora of sexual perverts hiding in the shadows of Hollywood’s former silence, wealth and power . When stage name, Whoopi Goldberg, a host on The View states that having sex with kids is all right, the rest of us know, without ANY MORAL CONFUSION, that anything these self-aggrandizing, morally bankrupt people have to say is just like busy freeway white noise!
It is only in their elaborately designed echo chambers where they talk unambiguously about themselves acting as though their monosyllabic prattle has any meaning to all the rest of us when we know their godless affiliations and political talk is harboring tremendous allegience to some of the most horrific attitudes and evil behaviors in the world.
Americans, G-d fearing and faithful to our Constitution, have uncovered the leftist hype as it gurgles toward its total demise. Standing like rocks we are and they are terrified because their mindlessness and moral depravity have been exposed for all to see!
And the newest one; Shawn Diddy Combs. And to all those video recorded doing the many freak perversions they thought their money and power would hide forever, regardless of those used and abused.—welcome to the reality Thunderdome!!
Liberal celebrities are the Dems’ vaudevillian “peanut gallery.” Just as obnoxious, just as ignorant, and twice as childish. And come to think of it, Howdy Doody would have made a better candidate on the Dem ticket.
Both Doody and Harris are controlled by unseen people pulling their strings.
You know you’re on the right side when the celebrities are against you.
Just have to remember celebrities when outside their roles they are playing are just as stupid as the rest of us. Most have taken their status as a higher form of life and they can tell us how to live. Not So. Like politicians they think their position in society has placed them above criticism. Not So.
One thing you forgot to mention: it’s entirely possible that those screaming the loudest have the most to lose. Many in Hollywood are rumored to be involved with things so horrific that I don’t want to mention them here. And if it’s true, as it appears to be from a Trump executive order freezing assets of those involved in certain activities, that they may be in jeopardy if he is elected–well, I can understand why so many are threatening (promising?) to leave America if that happens.
My advice to them: Make sure the country you go to doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the US.
I recall the times when celebrities stayed out of the political sphere. Also, during WWII, I remember the times when many “name” celebrities fought for the United States-not for specific political entities.
It seems that nowadays many celebrities believe that since they made it in Hollywood or in “diva-land” they have the intelligence and duty to lecture the rest of us.
They should instead thank God for their God given talents-and not hector the rest of us for our “lack of awareness”. It is both moronic and condescending.
As the article points out the rest (those who disagree with them) are the ones who go to the theater or buy or stream their CDs. We’re also the ones who work very hard to earn our money.
And so, we also thank God-maybe not for talent, but for our memories. We may not be able to sing, dance, or emote but we can remember-and one day we will remember.
Have any of these Slebs ever put forward a cogent argument as to why Kameleon Harris is such a good candidate and why Donald Trump is such a bad candidate.
Name calling doesn’t persuade normal people about anything but facts can.
So, where are the facts from these Slebs?
