“The WHCA is democratically elected by the full-time White House press corps,” Jacqui Heinrich, Fox News’s senior White House correspondent, recently argued, protesting the White House takeover of the press pool.
That’s not democracy: it’s a cartel.
The White House press corps is a small and heavily liberal group. Its legitimacy depended on at least the pretense of fair play and openness. That went by the wayside sometime back along with journalistic objectivity. It’s why the GOP has begun cutting ties with media organizations. Maintaining a hostile media cartel never made much sense anyway.
There are arguments that allowing the White House to pick who will cover it is bad for a free press. And that would be a good argument if we had one of those, it would be a good argument if anyone in that same press had bothered to report on Biden’s mental state or ask Obama challenging questions.
Democrats in the White House for the most part get a free pass from the White House press corps which means they’ve already picked the media that will cover them. Equal time may mean letting Republicans have the same privilege. Is it healthy for a free and open discussion? No. But it was the media’s decision to switch from biased reporting to 24/7 partisan agitprop and now the consequences are coming in.
The idea that the media has any entitlement to decide who will be allowed to cover anything is nonsense.
The WHCA was a convenient arrangement. That arrangement belonged to a chummier era. It’s done now.
I laugh every time I see President Trump and his White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, talk about this. They always stick it to the “woke” White House Communications Agency and make sure to let viewers and especially the Press Corps know that it’s been neutered and alternative voices and news outlets – meaning real ones outside of the Dirtbagocrat Minitrue Media – have now been brought into their press conferences and get to ask the most questions.
The WHCA is an actual government agency, which made its subversion by the D-Bag left all the more egregious in its corruption. How long till Musk’s DOGE recommends that President abolish it? Not long, I hope.
And watching Leavitt crush the false premises of the questions fake news trolls in the old and outdated corps try to ask is sweet. She dismisses their bullshit in no uncertain terms and makes sure to identify it as such, and treats serious questions from the newly welcome real news agencies…..seriously. After four years of incompetent and incredibly stupid lies spun by the hatchet faced ginger skank and retarded Rageddy Ann, it’s refreshing to see an honest professional control the room.
I still want to tear Raggedy Ann up, though.
Does there really need to be a daily WH press conference? Especially with the fake lib “reporters”? I was sick of the silly girls heading these little affairs like Circle Back Psaki and Cringe Jean-Pierre. And I only saw them in film clips.
Considering viewership and readership is down at CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NYT, WAPO, etc.

Instead of getting rid of the daily press conference, get rid of all journalists who do not have expertise in real journalism. The internet and technology has created a bunch of stupid cut-and-paste ideologues. Citizens need good journalists and the live questions keep the administration on its toes – a good thing.
Yes, greatly reducing the number of questions allowed by Minitrue Media trolls is a good thing but not good enough. Press Secretary Leavitt needs to eliminate them from the press corps altogether and President Trump needs to abolish the completely corrupt White House Communications Agency, which is part of the Dirtbagocrats’ Minitrue Media and not a real news agency.

I don’t know much about Deucy, but when I have watched the WH press conferences, I have appreciated his questions. He seems like an old-style, real journalist.

Consider this: compromise to the democrats means you agree with them. Democrats have never had a problem with reaching a “compromise” with congressional republicans to move legislation.
