The media thinks that going crazy over federal workers losing their jobs is a winning strategy. And so it’s doubling and tripling down on this insanity.
The survivor’s guilt-stricken remaining employees of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are trying to “pick up the pieces” and figure out how to continue delivering life-saving information to the public, after the shock firing of hundreds of America’s foremost experts in weather forecasting and earth sciences on Thursday.
“Survivor’s guilt”? For not getting fired?
This is embarrassing even for CNN. When three-quarters of a million Americans lost their jobs last year, there was no media discussion about other employees suffering from ‘survivor’s guilt’.
Instead, the media hyped what a great time it was to look for new jobs.
Now the media is treating federal workers who weren’t fired like Holocaust survivors. This is completely out of proportion to anything even liberals are comfortable with.
The employees being fired were ‘probationary’ which means that they knew they could be fired and they were relatively recent hires and their loss is not going to cripple anything.
Here’s the media’s test example.
Tom DiLiberto, who until Thursday had worked as a climate and weather scientist and public affairs specialist, told CBS News he started as a contractor for NOAA back in 2010, but became a federal employee less than two years ago. His probationary period was set to end on March 13, 2025, two weeks from the day he was terminated.
“You’re seeing the whittling away of scientists, and the people who got fired today are some of the best people you can imagine,” DiLiberto said. “These people have dedicated their lives to help others. There’s no politics in this. When we forecast, or think of the oceans and keep them clean, we’re not thinking about the politics. This is an insult on science and all that’s good.”
DiLiberto had been a forecaster for El Niño and La Niña and, as a public affairs specialist in the office of communications, said he wrote for the El Niño Southern Oscillation blog for a decade. He published his final blog for the service the same day he was let go.
He was a blogger. ‘Public affairs’ personnel are absolutely dispensable. At NOAA, he helped “develop strategic communications and topline messages for NOAA” and served “as a climate spokesperson for NOAA”.
According to CNN, this means we’re all about to die.
“Ships will not be able to safely navigate through our waterways. Farmers will not have the data they need to manage their crops. NOAA’s workforce keeps people alive and provides communities with the scientific support tools to protect their families and grow their businesses,” Sen. Maria Cantwell, a Washington Democrat, said in a statement. “This action is a direct hit to our economy, because NOAA’s specialized workforce provides products and services that support more than a third of the nation’s GDP.”
Elon Musk and the Trump administration “just don’t understand the concept of, like, helping people for the sake of helping people without having some ulterior motives,” said Tom Di Liberto, a public affairs specialist and climate scientist fired from NOAA on Thursday. “They don’t understand the concept of what NOAA is about, which is just service to others.”
Americans are paying premium dollars for that service. In 2024, they voted to stop paying for it.
So DiLiberto as a professional liar?
No wonder CNN were drawn to him.
It sounds like another great job opportunity to me. Psychiatrists and manufacturers making big commissions from the drugs they push.
I guess I’m lucky to be alive without federal workers who don’t matter, don’t work and often don’t exist except for the paychecks they collect. Thank God I can collect Social Security along with the other 420 million people who do when I’m old enough. Federal employees save us again! Hopefully I can last that long after a few federal parasites got fired.
So? Screw ‘em! They can always resign….

Non-Fired Fed Employees Suffering From ‘Survivor’s Guilt’…”The survivor’s guilt-stricken remaining employees are trying to pick up the pieces.” If this is true, I’m sure that it’s not, these victims will use their federal medical benefits to seek treatment for PTSD.
Survivor’s guilt? Climate science?
These hysterical people are an embarrassment and I guarantee you, NONE of these miserable malcontents would have survived in Nazi concentration camps; they would be the ones constantly crying until the German SS just shot them to shut them up.
These people have no shame, no guts and reality eludes them.
NOAA? How many REAL climate, keep- the-oceans-clean scientists are there anyway? The whole climate racket has all but eliminated real science and scientists from their ranks so we are not shedding tears about these simpering cowards losing their jobs. If there are any new hires in the future, let them be the well trained, merit-worthy individuals who have earned degrees, understand the scientific method when addressing hypotheses and are unafraid to address the real results of what is learned from them.
We have places for these people called psychiatric, inpatient services and the leftist. trained psychiatrists who treat them will keep them suitably subdued with advanced pharmacology so they never, ever experience their false “survivor’s” guilt again and the rest of us are relieved from hearing this BS ever again.
They’re just upset that they may actually have to do a little bit of work now that there’s a few less people in the office. They’re so conditioned to doing next to nothing that the thought of working is freaking them out.
Our “climate” forecast for the next ten days can change twenty times! I call them “Weather Liars”! It’s not fair really to disparage people who look at satellite images and computer projections to forecast future “climate events”! After all, did those prognosticators who spit out those Farmer’s Almanacs ever get it wrong about 70% of the time?
Oh, they DIDN’T?? What the crap did they KNOW way back when that all these modern contraptions don’t know today?
As for those who are “guilt ridden” – suck it up buttercup and give half of YOUR paycheck so the others can sit at home or get another job and just use YOUR money for fun!
Those morons and liars conflate “climate” with “weather.”
And can’t even get the weather right.
“Survivor’s guilt?” More likely, “I bet the ax is next coming for me.”

Learned coworkers were fired.
Cried and griped about it.
Considered likely next steps.
Realization dawned that next step might involve my firing too.
Called CNN to report.
Most private sector employees process steps 1-4 within the first five minutes of learning coworkers have been fired and their step 5 is working on their resume and network of contacts to pursue gainful employment. Too bad, so sad if one’s entire network is the public sector.
Back in the 1980’s a younger brother of a former friend of mine died in a parachute accident.
It wasn’t long after I had a dream of Rick, where he came to me looking happy. I looked away feeling ashamed I was still alive. Rick looked confused at my reaction of seeing him. Not quite survivor’s guilt but along the same.

Where was the main sleaze media when court jester stooge puppet whore Joe Briben shut down the much needed Keystone pipeline. 10’s of thousands had purchased homes built just for this project.
They lost their jobs, homes, new schools and hospitals and cities, the builders lost their investments and all ended up with terrible credit.
Biden said: “Go learn programming”. The fake news propaganda censorship media was silent! No criticism of Biden’s callousness to American citizens as Biden showed callousness to victims of E Palestine, Ohio toxic train derailment, Maui fire victims and victims of last summer’s hurricanes.
Can you imagine if President Trump said: “Go learn programming”? There would be articles of impeachment – fake news may call back recently hired 8×10 glossy liars to pummel President Trump.
Here is the fact that I experienced in my lean times.
There are jobs and more jobs coming in Capitalist USA. President Trump is getting enough government out of our lives so we all learn to rely on ourselves and the unique capitalism of USA.
Whine and cry and stand outside and protest, but more people are going to learn this and take advantage of this and if they are an employee going to have the right mindsets to think: “I am going to my job as an entrepreneur. I will treat my job as if it is my entrepreneurial venture. Because my life, after all, is an entrepreneurial venture and I am blessed to be a citizen, born or naturalized of the USA”

As someone who has been fired and as someone who has fired employees, all I can say is suck it up Buttercup. Move on.
Yeah, government employees think their jobs are supposed to be lifetime sinecures where they don’t have to perform, barely work or never work at all and never get fired.
As if real workers in America should care about a lowlife scumbag huckster like Tom DiLiberto, who got paid to push the global climate warming change hoax and harm his own country. Fired? He should’ve been fired out of a cannon into Canada or Mexico.
I’ve been laid off. And I’ve been fired once. And I’ve had to leave many jobs – usually because they were short term contracts.
And I’m pretty sure most Americans can say the same. I’m just old enough that most of my peers have been fully employed all the time.
But almost everyone I know – that’s younger than I am – has had to go from job to job as a vagabond. If they’re white or male – it’s been worse – with low pay for extreme qualifications and experience.
What’s so offensive is that these incompetent, unqualified, useless bureaucrats have had the best “jobs” in our civilization ever conceived by the mind of a communist …
and they’re still like babies.
