Los Angeles is facing a $1 billion deficit and after all the fake ballot measures raising billions for drug-addled bums and teachers’ unions, is running out of funds and may actually have to fire some of its army of bureaucrats.
Faced with seemingly no other options, Los Angeles leaders may lay off thousands of city employees during the upcoming fiscal year to remedy its $1 billion shortfall.
“The severity of the revenue decline, paired with rising costs, has created a budget gap that makes layoffs nearly inevitable,” City Administrative Officer Matt Szabo said during the council meeting Wednesday. “We are not looking at dozens or even hundreds of layoffs, but thousands.”
However, thousands of layoffs “cannot and will not be the only solution” to the city’s dire situation, according to Szabo. The City Council must consider service cuts to balance its budget. In closed session, city leaders also mulled over the possibility of deferring union-negotiated raises to police officers, firefighters, trash truck drivers and librarians.
While city government tightens belts, it will still go on spending a fortune on illegal aliens. Meanwhile, LA County will keep plowing money into legal defenses for illegal aliens.
Both city and county keep plowing millions into RepresentLA, and there’s no sign that they’re winding down the Office of Immigrant Affairs which should not exist in the first place.
Millions continue to be plowed into RepresentLA under OIA even as LA suffers from a budget crisis and is preparing to fire thousands of employees.
LA Dems would rather fire employees than cut back on spending for illegal aliens.
What’s a “fake ballot measure”? Is it a ballot measure that only exists in people’s imaginations? Is the ballot fake or the measure fake? Sorry, Daniel, but you’re so smart you need to bring yourself down to the rest of us’ level.
A fake ballot measure is one created by ActBlue, Soros or whichever left-wing group of California rapists wants to get enacted, rather than a real one by concerned citizens. Tardmos call concerned citizens a “grassroots” movement.
Fake ballot initiatives are then passed with fake votes, like the ones for Greasehead Newscum to retain his Governorship.
Fake ballots measures are also known as D-Bag ballot measures and “woke” ballot measures.

This is with leftist control. If a $1B shortfall justifies cutting thousands of employees, what would a trillion plus shortfall at the fed level justify? A simple ratio of thousands for a billion shortfall would seem to indicate millions for a trillion shortfall. As of two days ago, the number stood at the tens of thousands, not millions, and the left is pitching a fit.

An someone who was born & raised in that sh*thole city and still go there from time to time, I can say with authority that tourists would be well advised to stay away from downtown LA and the rest of the places where tourists go. Los Angeles has the largest homeless population in the country and they’re everywhere and they tend to gather at the usual places where tourists like to go.
Moreover, for such a large city, Los Angeles has the smallest police force in the country. If the homeless harass you, good luck with trying to get the police to do anything about it and that’s if you can get them to show up. Coming to the aid of a tourist being hassled by a homeless person is just not high on their list of priorities.
Gruesome Newsom, is trying to get the U.S. taxpayer to cure the deficit of MediCal for illegals to the tune of $29 Billion.
DOGE could fix that.
Seems like this is just a continuation of the Cloward-Piven strategy–overload the system until it collapses.
