The Department of Education, one of the 100 worst legacies of ‘Jimmuh’, the late and unlamented former worst president, is being slowly phased out by the Trump administration. Expect multiple legal battles to come and the media hysteria has been mounting for much of last week. The problem however is… who cares?
The D of E is one of those things that sound important but are really just ways for government bureaucrats, special interests and their massive allied constellation of contractors and crooks to buy second homes.
The impact of the Department of Education falling into a black hole on the average American would be roughly that of being hit by a piece of lint. Which is to say it would be another parasitic government entity disappearing to be replaced by the money being stolen and being diverted somewhere else.
The media has been trying hard to panic Americans over the disappearance of the D of E. All it’s come up with are warnings that without the Department of Education mismanaging its student loan portfolio, there will be “chaos”.
That’s right. Chaos. The standby explanation for why nothing in government can be changed or reduced, just slathered with more delicious layers of DEI to cut in new and exciting special interests.
The media warns of the terrifying possibility that student loans will be… get this… transferred from the Department of Education to the Treasury Department. Tremble in fear of the chaos that will ensue when fake colleges, welfare students and foreigners defraud the Treasury directly instead of the Department of Education as they have gotten used to doing.
Think tanks – another group that will miss the Ed Dep. I read where one think tank was paid $3M to write a report on why no one was reading Ed Dep funded reports.
On the other hand, states use Ed Dep funding (which comes from the states) to subsidize state education funding. School districts are locked into a lot of that spending but there is wiggle room like reducing administrative costs which has ballooned over the last few decades. But what really needs to happen is for the Feds to reduce taxes since they will be reducing services (namely that state ed funding) and let the states decide if they will try to increase revenue and/or reduce costs. If states raise taxes and the fed doesn’t reduce it by a similar amount, many people will feel it.
The Fed Derp spent only 7.7% of its $267.9 BILLION (a low estimate) budget last year on payments to states and only 2% of that was spent (wasted) on students.
80% of students are inproficient in basic math in their grade levels, and even basic English. 100% of students in big blue cities with large black populations such as Philadelphia are inproficient in basic math – which is 1+1 = 2 in grade school and basic multiplication in high school.
With basic statistics like these, the Department of Indoctrination obviously takes care of itself only – at the cost of $247.2717 BILLION in taxpayer lucre it spends on itself.* No King on Earth has ever rated a ransom that grand.
*I might have to check my math with Algorithmic Analyst but I figure it’s correct because I double checked it with a calculator.
I see we have at least two D-Bag sewer creatures here. Probably the products of government schools.
Just so you know, Teslas have about six cameras in them so when you vandalize any you’ll get caught and prosecuted, just like the three D-Bags who were arrested only two days after their arson and shooting spree. (I thought you hypocrites hated guns and wanted them all confiscated from the public?) AG Bondi has the three D-Bag Tesla terrorists facing five to twenty years in (for those left-wing sissies) butt-pound prisons, ha haw!
Enjoy your educations. And by “educations,” I mean trained ignorance and “resistance” to MAGA peace and prosperity. It only cost us taxpayers about $275 BILLION dollars a year under Alzheimer Joe’s handlers.
America won and you scumbags lost. Get used to being hated wherever you go.
Good one and right on.
lol, hard to argue with that. My first chuckle of the day, thanks 🙂
The math they taught the elementary students was absurd. I remember trying to help a youngster and the point of the math problems they gave him was from graduate level books on Metamathematics. I could understand the point but the elementary students need to learn their basic addition/subtraction/multiplication tables. Seriously, the left sets math education up so only 1 in a million students will get the point, and the left figures the rest of the students don’t need to learn math anyways.
It’s now a know fact that the left has for years has been dumbing down our kids and now we have teachers that follow what they were taught and the dumb down continues. The U.S.A. needs to completely over haul our educational system and start curriculums that actually teach right from wrong and Godly principles. God bless America and help us get these far left teachers and administrators out of education.
Yes, as an autodidact, I educated myself to the level of algebra and calculus when I was ten years old in the fifth grade. My “teacher” held me back with all the dummies and being a ten year with the corresponding mental immaturity, I gave up on that sweet science at a young age.
Not a good life choice, to say the least.
Should have stuck with Education not Brainwashing/Indoctrination should not be under Big Brother/1984
The people getting all of the government largesse from D of E will miss it! How pathetic is the situation? The President of the Chicago Teachers Union said school choice is “racist” yet sends her child to an expensive private school. (She “did the Clinton, Obama, and Pritzker…”)
All of the usual suspects already named.
Plus the NEA.
….
Plus all the people who hate tariffs.
Dumb + Dumb = Dumber. The DemoRats are loosing their paid voting base if the DOE is eliminated.
The DemoRats are against school vouchers, because below average teachers will actually have to work at being a teacher.
Lower the standards for illegals and low I.Q. students, and reap the rewards of stupidity.
Merit and achievement have left the public schools
DEI was another program that the DemoRats/Socialists promoted in public schools, instead of teaching student critical skills like reading, writing and arithmetic.
Abolishing the Department of Education is almost too good to be true. Phase I of removing marxist trash from education is underway. By 2043 we may see the last university professor who still introduces theyself with pronouns.
Teachers unions and their Democrat Party allies, all of whom have a vested interest in keeping Americans as dumbed-down–and in turn as government-dependent as possible–in order to maintain power.
I keep reading that, at many colleges, there are more “administrators” than actual faculty. Can that really be true?
Taking the “duh” out of the Duhpartment of Education. Should have happened long ago.
I’m waiting for someone to say that literacy is an instrument of colonialism aimed at oppressing people who belong in hunter/gatherer societies, and that therefore illiteracy is a step forward, and should not be regarded as an indicator of pedagogical failure.
The DoEd has a budget of $268 billion, which can grease a lot of palms and buy a lot of second homes. Most of it goes to the students in pell grants and loans, and to the states, but there’s a lot left over, as high as $40 billion, to get lost in DC, hence all the wigging out. If the states start getting the money direct, they won’t want to go back to the DoEd middleman.
Pas moi.
Or in English, Not me.
