Disney’s attempted live-action reboot of Snow White followed its usual remake formula, a minority lead actress, lots of special effects and nostalgia, and the expectation that the audience will show up.
It didn’t.
Even before the actual opening, Disney began cutting back on promotion. The most visible sign of it was billboards and ads for Snow White suddenly being swapped out for other Big Mouse properties even before the movie opened. Disney cut back its tracking to a $50 million opening. It likely won’t even do that.
Those would be great numbers for any other studio, not for Disney which spends big on these tentpoles and expects big returns.
The reviews, both those of critics and the audience, were poor for Snow White harping on some of the same points as in Little Mermaid, a confused attempt to reconcile a traditional princess story with wokeness that doesn’t actually work, overuse of special effects and a lead actress that can’t handle the material.
It didn’t help that Rachel Zegler is not only talentless and unappealing but also managed to go off on a rant about America. As did its star of Captain America: Brave New World.
With Captain Un-America: Brave New World also underperforming, after Mufasa underperformed, Disney continues being able to take the top of the box office, but also continues underperforming while following a declining trend.
That’s not going to end well.
Investors board companies that are going up, not those that are going down. And Disney is trending downward.
Captivating story.
About dwarves, they were some of the most interesting characters in the genre those days. L. Frank Baum had some wonderful books along those lines, my neighbor had a large collection of those books which I got to read as a kid.
Baum was a good writer.
As a nine year old kid in “73, I didn’t know shit about the 1930s and all his references but I knew good stories. What the Hell. I liked Warner Brothers cartoons too, and I didn’t get those references either.
“Lions and tigers and bears.” Funny in the movie but scary in the books.
I see we have two illiterate lefties (is there any other kind?) who hate imagination and kids lurking about here. What? Isn’t “The View” on now or your local playground available for you to creep up on in your trench coats?

That reminded me, in elementary school back in the 1950s, all the kids watched Disney on Sunday Nights, then the topic of conversation among the kids Monday morning before class started was all about what was on Disney 🙂

“The Wonderful World of Disney” when I was a kid on Sunday nights. I still remember the magic wand and Tinkerbell sprinkles. Even a wannabe macho kid like me was able to look past that girly intro because the shows were so good.
Nowadays Disney Is the grooming channel. Boy, have things changed.
Rain or snow, Disney is anti-white.
The movie would have done better if snow white was a dude – interesting that parents aren’t taking their wee little ones to see this Disney movie – what turned them off – could it be the soft porn grooming of Disney’s other productions of late and their anti-American antisemitic, race baiting, down with evil Caucasians and all the other rainbow pride bullshit that oh, guess what, the majority of potential customers are not about to expose their young children to and parents just do not trust the Disney brand anymore?
You know, you can screw the pooch only so long until the pooch turns around and bites you.
Looking back, too much cartoons for children is as bad as too much violent and other video games for children today.
From the baby boomers with the advent of Tv watching too much cartoons on Tv is what made a lot of baby boomers gay and subsequent generations.
So how much Disney is really good for teaching children reality while still encouraging their imaginations to get strong and focused into what it takes to make a better lives for each of us in the USA.
Confining my outlook to the USA only.
Whatever happened to creating stories filled with imagination and possibilities?
The innocence of children is a beautiful, precious time and one that upon becoming a parent is a lovely place to revisit while sharing what used to be these Disney classics with them.
These chattering windbags have no concept of either childhood or innocence. Nor do they understand emerging adventure. These creators are abusive to children holding their aberrant values as worthy of destroying that innocence on their reigning altars of multiple forms of sexual deviancy and other of their woke, indulgent platitudes about how children should be indoctrinated.
Parents are better served to invest in a Blu Ray DVD player and the Disney Classics rather than live-streaming any of the current Disney garbage. Disney has become so invested in its corruption that along with Disneyland and Disney World morphing into pedophile hot houses, it’s no longer worth the hard-earned money of families to spend it there.m and putting their children’s innocence at risk.
Everything touched by the hands of greedy perversions turns to crap.
Crap begets crap. Simple solution is to not let crap touch the things
and people that you care for. Never open your door to crap, never try
to reason with crap nor feel you must be nice to crap. Eschew crap
as if your survival depends on it because it does. Be free of crap by
being wary and watchful of it’s presence and determined to wall it
out of your world, Don’t be fooled into feeding crap as it is not a stray
puppy or kitten in need of a living home.
It is CRAP.
No matter what you think of Disney’s sexual orientation or anything else about the studio, that dance scene is. not entertainment for children. I don’t know what it is, but for kids it is not. Period.

I am supersized that Disney didn’t present the New Snow White as Ho White and the seven pedophiles, at Drag Queen Story Hour.
I just feel bad for Gal Gadot, who clearly just wanted to make a good movie while also trying to support the victims of 10/7. How she was able to put up with that mental midget Zegler for all the time they were making and promoting the movie is beyond me. And the fact that Gadot had to have heightened security around herself instead of Zegler tells you everything you need to know about how those who support Israel and those who support Hamas are treated differently.
For what it’s worth, I did go see the new Captain America movie out of support for the Israeli actress Shira Haas (and to thumb my nose at the pro-Hamas protesters who were boycotting the movie over Miss Haas’s appearance in it.) She was definitely one of the few highlights in an otherwise average Marvel movie.
