There’s bad news in fairyland. Snow White isn’t white. The Queen is the fairest of all. And after eating from the woke apple, Snow White is so dead that all the mocap CG dwarves in the Mouse House can’t begin to raise her. Neither can Prince Charming who now identifies as a woman.
After last weekend’s poor opening, there was a scramble in Hollywood to deny that wokeness was the cause, followed by prognostications that this weekend would fix all. The Friday numbers are in and while the weekend numbers aren’t set yet and certainly not final, they’re catastrophically bad
A Working Man, the latest Jason Statham male-skewed action movie, walloped Snow White Badly. To make matters worse, Friday numbers actually have Snow White behind ‘The Chosen: Last Supper Part 1’.
While Snow White may not actually end up in third place, it was struggling to keep pace even with The Woman in the Yard horror movie.
Making matters even more depressing, Captain Un-America, Brave New World, fell 91% to a miserable 7th place.
Again those numbers may not end up holding, but at the moment Disney’s spring is off to a really bad start.
It’s not just about the numbers, which are bad enough, but the per theater average which registers enthusiasm.
Disney’s Snow White had the highest number of theaters, monopolizing 4,200 theaters, but its per-theater average was below $1,000, putting in 5th place for public enthusiasm. And Captain Un-America in 9th place with a $306 per theater average and still short of $200 million.
Disney’s IP spam is no longer looking like a solid bet for theater owners and that’s really bad news for the mouse.
Make live action versions of their classic or messing up their Animal Classics such as That Darn Cat and Incredible Journey so far however they have not done this to Old Yeller
Also keep in mind that Hollyweird is bereft of any new & fresh ideas and thus have little choice but to resort to remakes of old movies with a tweak here and there. Movies today are unimaginative and quite boring to be honest. If only Clint Eastwood was 30 or 40 years younger…..!

These movies were made at the peak height of woke mental retardation, which they thought would last forever, the last holdouts being silenced and forced to comply by a Kamala victory. Because even if Trump didn’t go to prison, he would be otherwise removed, seen by all live on CNN; and if that didn’t work “the biggest voter fraud operation in history” certainly would put her over the top. Woke/DEI/CRT would be the law of the land and nothing that runs counter to that dogma would ever be seen by human eyes on a movie screen again. Didn’t work out that way, though. It’s almost safe to say we can put Wokeism in the dustbin along with every other insanely destructive, idiotic Marxist movement that came before it, while we brace ourselves for the next repackaged spinoff, much like every Hollywood remake-dumber and worse than the original.
Even leaving out the wokeness and Zegler being a total idiot and nutcase, the casting sucked hugely.
It made the basic story hook unbelievable, and even in a fairy tale/fantasy you have to have some degree of believability in the hook.
Ahistorical leftist revisionism makes it more difficult to get an accurate picture of previous eras.

I think it says a lot that Hollywood cannot produce anything new and creatively brilliant, but can only corrupt the classics in woke ways.
If only those Hollyweird mutts read books. I can names dozens of books that are ideal for being made into a movie as long as they stick to the story and not inject that DEI BS.

Disney’s self adulation as the woke capital for childhood grooming, using all means they have available, through their Disneyland theme parks, Disney Channel, and obsessive Disney classics redos are the results. To be totally blunt, Hollyweird is so full of themselves that they now think their own sh*t (i.e., crap movies) doesn’t stink. Well it does and the bottom line, ROI, says so.
Will they learn? Probably not. Wokeism hasn’t yet to run its course. in the movie industry. Disney and the rest of the movie industry needs to bleed several more billions of dollars before woke movies and the incessant remakes inflict serious financial consequences. Disney in particular, has deep pockets and can probably withstand 2 or 3 more big budget box office bombs before incurring serious financial consequences for which I’m in favor of!
Disney actually managed to sneak a commercial for that misbegotten piece of cinema “magic” into an ad for an antihistamine, the one with the cute owl with the British accent. That has to be an act of desperation.

It’s been quite a while since we graced a theatre with our butts in a seat – I think it might have been when we took our Granddaughters to see Despicable 2! I’d love to see some of the movies on a giant screen with the awesome sound but just don’t want to sit in a room with a bunch of idiots who don’t know how to behave in public so I wait and watch on my 65″ Sony!
NOW – if Disney was smart – and I’m not saying the are – they would RE-RELEASE the ORIGINAL “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” in the giant screen, awesome sound theaters! They should allow the showings to be a National Treasure Showing – TICKET PRICES the SAME as when Originally Released! The theaters can still make their money on the obscene charges for drinks, popcorn, and candy!! Imagine the GOOD WILL that could result! Imagine all those tiny faces lighting up watching those giant screens filled with the BEAUTY and GOODNESS of the ORIGINAL Snow White!!
I would bet my LIFE SAVINGS that if you have TWO Auditoriums – one showing the woke crap and the other the ORIGINAL Snow White you would have a LONG LINE for the ORIGINAL and a nearly, if not completely, empty woke room!!

I have absolutely nothing to say. Was the opening I heard from an old neighbor when I was a kid – when I heard that – it was time to flee or a 45 minute diatribe will be coming – My guess even the most harried parent got wind of what Disney is doing, may be doing subliminally or directly by freaks in Disney to groom their children and underneath that G rating is an X rated crew that put together these Disney movies – grooming their children when life is tricky enough – nope, they are not going to take a chance on Disney.
Though it’s unclear who first said, “give the people what they want,” it’s been a well-known axiom among marketers and merchandizers for over a century. But that’s never prevented the slow learners among us to repeat those mistakes from the past. In the big picture, it’s not about wokeness or any other socio-political ideology. It’s simple math out of Business 101. If the public doesn’t like what you’re selling, they won’t buy it. It’s a marvel there are supposedly professional people who think their personal beliefs are more important than creating a successful product.

The Snow white actress is nice looking. The picture Greenfield posted of her is not flattering, btu in general she takes good pictures.

Putting aside Zegler’s dumb comments, Disney decided for some reason that turning the Snow White into a hybrid of AOC and Xena the warrior-princess with Robin Hood wannabe as her boyfriend would be a good idea. Cannot wait for the sequel: Snow White vs Wicked Orange Man of the West.
All they really had to do was to re-release the original…….less money and time and everyone would have loved it…and Disney would have made money.
But being ‘woke’ is what is killing this once great company.

First Disney cast an actress who calls herself Latina to appropriate the whitest story of European culture (after making the red haired Little Mermaid black). Then they listened to one actor Dinklage who has mopped up all roles for little people but pulled up the ladder behind him by saying casting 7 of his kind as dwarfs was “regressive”. Disney switched out the dwarf septet for a motley multicult crew of “magical creatures”. When that caused an uproar , they added CGI dwarfs back in and made the not so magical creatures into thieves.
Next they replaced the prince with a Robin Hood wannabe failure who had to be saved by Off White on her way to take back her kingdom as boss-girl by the lamest possible device – winning the Evil Queen’s enforcers over by remembering their names from her childhood in the castle. Oh, and classic hummable songs were replaced by forgettable pop tunes.
Last but not least, the lead actress trashed the original movie beloved by generations that made Disney Studio’s fortune. She further alienated half the potential audience by spewing anti- conservative, pro-union and pro-Palestinian political rants. Her big-mouthed meanness was the antithesis of Snow White’s character, making her not believable in the part.
Disney brought the woke themselves, but the actress playing Tan Snow was the poison apple in this misbegotten movie.
