The EPA would like to shut down everything except itself. The EPA thinks everything we do can be cut down, including heating and cooling our homes, and eating meals, meanwhile it wastes plenty of money and carbon on its own operations including maintaining a completely useless museum.
Now that’s done and the media is not happy.
Lee Zeldin, E.P.A. Head, Shuts National Environmental Museum – New York Times
The “national” part is a slight exaggeration because the EPA museum was every bit as popular as you can imagine a museum that is dedicated to the EPA and catering to EPA personnel.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin, announced today that the agency is closing the one-room, 1,595 square foot EPA museum built by the Biden Administration using $4 million in taxpayer dollars. The museum, located within office space at EPA headquarters in Washington, D.C., saw less than 2,000 external visitors between May 2024 – February 2025 and costs $600,000 per year to operate.
EPA staff amount to more than 40% of visitors and while the museum is free, the cost to taxpayers per external visitor amounts nearly $315 per person.
But just think of the lower ‘carbon emissions’ that the EPA and environmentalists are obsessed with. Shutting down the EPA museum could very well save the planet. If it were in danger to begin with.
The Museum is free, but the real cost is $315 per person.
Government economics 🙂
How many “Administrators” are now unemployed? It shouldn’t take much to operate ONE ROOM in a building that you already have!
Just ANOTHER “make job” for some DEMOcrats! Kind of telling that there are VERY FEW Republicans protesting or complaining about cutting non-essential gov’t ee’s!! Where are all the R gov’t ee’s??
You are good at math, brother. I see that stuff and think; is everybody else blind? Why can’t they see this shit?
Without an EPA museum how will people know the amazing story of how a dishwasher came to be made that takes 8 days to complete a cleaning cycle?
I may soon “Elvis” my washing machine. Don’t ask!
Somehow I doubt having to cycle my ‘HE’ clotheswasher three times to get a load of laundry clean is saving water or electricity, not to mention detergent.
Excellent! I only wish Lee Zeldin were NY Governor. But no. Frau Hochul was installed instead with all the unfortunate results. Now, Andrew “Killer” Cuomo is about to be installed as mayor of the hell hole formerly known as NYC. What a pair of nasty corrupt bookends they will be!
Yeah, that’s an excellent example of how politics sometimes chooses the worst leaders over the best.
I ardently object to the notion of calling those corrupt, duplicitous, incompetent, self serving, backstabbing jackasses on crapitol hill “leaders”!!
The EPA Museum looks like every other dry worn out government Museum we have come to know and hate. Lots of TV screens, places to sit, and displays replete with boring tomes about nothing. There should be a “How to Make Dinosaurs Boring” museum
But they sure cost a lot of money and it gives the woke something to do.
Thanks, I’ll pass.
Proving that all its displays were fakes and its low amount of visitors no one will miss it at all
next on the chopping block should be the ” NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES ” once you have read bruce coles ” book ” ART FROM THE SWAMP ” and you survive reading it without your blood pressure rising sufficiently to kill you . if they leave this crowd out of doge then there is no justice in america and it certainly wont be great again .
