Harvard has an endowment of over $53 billion. Despite that it’s fighting Trump administration demands for reform in order to extract around $9 billion in federal funding.
The Trump administration had asked Harvard for such things as merit-based hiring, promotion and admission, empowering tenured faculty over activist groups, and viewpoint diversity. It also called for an end to DEI and antisemitism.
It warned that “Harvard must adopt a new policy on student groups or clubs that forbids the recognition and funding of, or provision of accommodations to, any student group or club that endorses or promotes criminal activity, illegal violence, or illegal harassment” and “permanently expelling the students involved in the October 18 assault of an Israeli Harvard Business School student”.
Finally, Harvard “must also, to the satisfaction of the federal government, disclose the source and purpose of all foreign funds”.
Harvard predictably said “no”. President Alan Garber declared that “no government—regardless of which party is in power—should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”
The trouble is that governments have been doing this for quite a while. And if Harvard doesn’t like it, it can stop taking federal money.
Instead, the Harvard president argues that “for three-quarters of a century, the federal government has awarded grants and contracts to Harvard and other universities to help pay for work that, along with investments by the universities themselves, has led to groundbreaking innovations.”
Curiously he doesn’t cite any recent ones. But with over $53 billion, Harvard should be able to make all these “groundbreaking innovations” (and profit from them) without taxpayers having to foot the bill.
Yet Harvard wants billions more in taxpayer funding. It wants billions from the government, but it doesn’t want to restore law and order to its campus or bring back merit-based admission and hiring.
Americans are supposed to feel privileged to give Harvard their money. But what if they don’t feel privileged?
I’m not privileged, that’s for sure. Fuck Harvard. You do know that was the first University to have a quota on Jewish students, right? Imagine if they’d done that to the usual suspects. There’s be a George Floyd riot every week. Pants up, don’t loot.
We don’t need any Greg Marmalards and Neidermeyers taking our money.
And oh, yeah. President Trump just pulled $2.2 billion in funding from Havahd for being a DEI, Jew hater, Hamas loving cesspool. Get real jobs, mother fuckers! Go build a roof like the Mexicans do. At least they’re doing something useful.
But hey, Alzheimer Joe is scheduled to mutter tonight! The D-Bags are back, ha haw! I’m sure America will be hanging on his every word because he’s so articulate and respected…..in a pig’s ass. The only people who’ll pay attention are journalists and only because that’s their jobs.
Good luck with that one, Greenfield. Try not to fall asleep or shoot yourself.
Trump’s campaign promise was to end the Department of noEducation which includes ending welfare for elites. There is not a single college/university that should a single federal tax dollar.
That money gives them power is why.
I give generous yearly donations to Hillsdale College. Hillsdale doesn’t accept money from federal, state or local governments in any form (e.g., grants, loans, financial aid, etc.) The federal government once sued Hillsdale College to try and force them the accept federal grants, loans and financial aid. Thankfully, Hillsdale prevailed.
As for Harvard and the other Ivy league institutions, They can have the lint in my pants pockets. I graduated from a state college and don’t give a rat’s ass about Ivy league schools.
Tell t hem they can start by selling Pencils on Park Avenue or hold a Yard Sale this Summer
Just give them an empty cup for coin donations.
A Harvard Yard Sale❗
Everything must go❗
On Howard Stern’s old terrestrial radio show, an actor he interviewed who’d graduated from Harvard said, “One thing about being a Harvard graduate is some people will say, `You graduated from Harvard? Then how come you’re not doing better in life?'”
So the taxpayer is supposed to fork over money to Harvard but have no say in how it’s spent or condition the expenditure on the recipient meeting any requirements? What color is the sky in these peoples’ world?
Offered here are a few lines about the Better Sort. …

Like most ivy league and major universities, Harvard is a rat’s nest of liberals, Marxist-socialists, feminazis, and America-haters. The law school constantly turns out hundreds of ambulance-chasers and future activist judges. Their alumni are bloated with corrupt sleazy politicians.
The six-figure administrators charge sky-high prices for tuition, dorm fees, and books. They permit students to actively support terrorism and America’s enemies. Left-wing professors indoctrinate students to hate Republicans and Conservatives.
They don’t deserve one penny of taxpayer money.
