The media has a compelling new narrative
Kansas City was once a hub for federal workers—but now it’s overrun with pain from DOGE cuts. ‘The poor will become even more poor now’ – Fortune

I don’t know how many people in Missouri are really crying for Kansas City. Or its federal workforce.
Missouri voted for Trump. KC voted for Kamala.
With nearly 30,000 workers, the federal government is the largest employer in the region. One longtime Kansas City economic researcher said he believes the region could lose 6,000 good-paying federal jobs, which in turn would wipe out thousands of others in service industries.
Those 30,000 workers have their salaries paid for by taxpayers. They’re a net drain on the country.
The fact that the feds are the biggest employer in Kansas City is not a recommendation for either KC or the feds. It just means that it’s a failed city being subsidized by taxpayers.
Interesting coverage. Thanks Daniel !!!
Canberra, Australia’s capital city, has the highest median income in the country at over AUD72k.
It has a population of around 482,000 and close to a quarter of that entire population is employed by either the Federal or ACT public service.
In addition there are tens of thousands of contractors and consultants who do no other work than that which they do for either the Federal or Territory Public Services.
This is parasitism of the finest water.
Any city that relies on public servants as the main source of employment is a sick, parasitic environment.
When Democ-rat policies deliberately decimated the coal mining industry, Joe Bite-Me (D-Delaware) famously advised those unemployed by Democ-rat malice to “learn to code computers.” What goes around comes around. A necessary government reduction in force has now resulted in the massive layoff of government employees (virtually all Democ-rat voters) in Kansas City, Missouri. Surely, Joe Bite-Me or whoever speaks for Democ-rats these days will advise their unemployed Kansas City constituency to learn to code computers. What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander–right?
