[SPECIAL JANUARY PROMOTION: Spend $50+ In The FPM Store And Receive A Free Copy Of “Final Battle” By David Horowitz.]
Last Wednesday in Sacramento, a pro-Hamas mob crashed the state capitol and refused to leave, forcing legislators to adjourn the proceedings. Democrats had branded similar intrusions as an “insurrection,” but Gov. Gavin Newsom issued no statement. Four days later, the lead item on his press site was the link to a CNN story praising California’s gun laws. On the other hand, Gov. Newsom did take the trouble to meet with officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
According to a January 4 press release, CAIR, “organized a meeting between Governor Gavin Newsom and Muslim leaders from across the state before the holiday break to discuss the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.” Attendees included representatives from the Northern California Islamic Council, Palestinian American Medical Association, West Valley Muslim Association, Muslim Students Association West, and Shura Council of Southern California. The Muslim groups requested that Newsom support “a permanent ceasefire and a continued commitment to ensure freedom of speech, particularly in universities, as students engage in rallies.”
A statement from CAIR’s California CEO Hussam Ayloush said: “We were pleased by the Governor’s commitment to ensure his Muslim, Palestinian, and Arab constituents are heard as the violent siege on Gaza continues and that CAIR-CA had the platform to request the administration be proactive in ensuring the dignity of Palestinians. In his tenure, Governor Newsom has paved the path as a champion for civil rights, and we urge him to continue to use his voice as the leader of Californians who overwhelmingly demand a ceasefire.”
As Chuck Ross noted at the Free Beacon, Gov. Newsom’s meeting with CAIR came just weeks after the group’s leader, Nihad Awad, said he was “happy to see” the October 7 attack, a comment that “even prompted condemnation from the Biden White House.” In 2022, as Ross noted, California’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program, gave $135,000 to CAIR’s California chapter, along with $200,000 to the Islamic center in Fullerton and the Islamic Foundation of Sheikh IBN Taimmiyah in Hawthorne. The California grant program also gave $195,000 to the Islamic Center of San Diego and $198,000 to the San Ramon Valley Islamic Center.
In December, Gov. Gavin Newsom gave in to pressure from pro-Hamas demonstrators and canceled an annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony and menorah lighting that have been part of holiday activities in Sacramento since 1931. The move prompted a religious liberty law firm to brand Newsom as “the governor who stole Christmas and Hanukkah.”
In October, nearly two weeks after the 10/7 attack, Gov. Newsom visited Israel and proclaimed “my heart is heavy for all innocent people under the crushing pressure of loss and grief, no matter which side of fence they quite literally find themselves on. So as I prepare to leave, I share these words: may the memory of those who perished be a blessing to the whole world.”
At this writing, Joe Biden and Kamal Harris have not issued statements on the pro-Hamas shutdown of the California Capitol. On the other hand, in the CAIR press release on the meeting with Newsom, a figure familiar to Harris did emerge.
On December 5, 2015 in San Bernardino, American-born Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik, a green-card holder born in Pakistan, murdered Robert Adams, Isaac Amianos, Bennetta Betbadal, Harry Bowman, Sierra Clayborn, Juan Espinoza, Aurora Godoy, Shannon Johnson, Larry Daniel Kaufman, Damien Meins, Tin Ngyen, Nicholas Thalasinos, Yvette Velasco, and Michael Wetzel. Kamala Harris was California’s attorney general at the time
In a December 17, 2015 statement Harris said, “we must seek justice for those who lost their lives in the recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino.” How, exactly, the victims “lost their lives” the attorney general did not explain.
Harris warned of “the dangers of Islamophobic rhetoric” but failed to name Farook and Malik and offered no insight on what motivated the two Muslims to kill 14 people and wound more than 22 others. Their victims included African Americans, Asians and Hispanics, but no word from the attorney general whether Farook and Malik could have been motivated by racism.
Harris brought along officials from the Muslim Public Affairs Council and CAIR, whose Los Angeles director Hussam Ayloush said “Islamophobic and xenophobic rhetoric by certain public figures has made Muslim communities an easy target for hate crimes.” Attorney general Harris, Ayloush added, “exemplified leadership” by addressing “the spike in hate crimes against American Muslims and other minorities.”
In similar style, CAIR’s January 4 press release condemns “all forms of Islamophobia” and claims that “hate incidents targeting the Muslim and Arab communities have been on the rise across the country since Oct. 7.” Hassan Ayloush praises Gov. Newsom as “a champion for civil rights, and we urge him to continue to use his voice as the leader of Californians who overwhelmingly demand a ceasefire.” And so on.
On the watch of Gavin Newsom, the Golden State has become CAIRlifornia, a funder and apologist of a jihadist front group “happy to see,” the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
Lets return them to the Middle East and throw in Newsom the Nuance
I recommend a catapult and/or mailing them in crates.
Sorry that Paul Kessler’s death and lack of hate crime was not mentioned in this insightful article and commentary
Way to go Newsome, sucking up to the muslims. Perhaps his desire to be President just hit the wall. Sucking up to muslims is not exactly a winning strategy at the national level.
It’s not a good strategy yet. Hence, the DNC letting in, if not flying in as many muslim jihadists they can.
Ken Doll Newsome is a myopic fool who thinks they’ll stay in the ghettos & homeless camps they’re creating all over.
(Nothing would please me more for another set of San Bernadino thugs to pay him a visit with a dose of reality.)
Islam is supremacist. Must reform or be confronted.
It cannot reform. Its belief system is in the Quran which Allah revealed to Muhammad. Its words are believed by Muslims to be sacred and anyone who criticizes or changes them is considered an apostate and blasphemer. Both apostasy and blasphemy are punishable by death in Islam. So I believe that, while the reform of Islam is necessary, it is highly unlikely.
“Their victims included African Americans, Asians and Hispanics”
I guess there wasn’t any whites killed in the San Bernardino massacre.
Glad you used a small “w” in white in keeping up with DEI.
Newsom couldn’t care less if California becomes part of the caliphate. He labors under the delusion that his address will be Washington, DC.by the time the Muslims ban extramarital sex.
Newsom the Nuisance wants to change the Constitution when it comes to the 2nd Amendment a typical socialists scoundrel and all around scum ball lower then a snake In a wagon rut
If he becomes Muslim he can have four wives and as many women of the right hand (i.e. sex slaves) as he sees fit.
What does Islam say about hair gel? If it prohibits it it could be a deal breaker.
Glad I took CAIR up on its offer of a free Quran after 9-11. I had a better understanding of why so much violence continues to be committed in the name of Islam.
The verse about the permissibility of a husband hitting his wife is entertaining because it includes a footnote that some scholars suggest the hitting is only supposed to be “symbolic,” as “with a toothbrush.”
Soon Newscum will agree to implement Sharia law in CA like it already exists in a number of cities in GB!
A GOVETOR BY THE NAME OF NEWSOM. WENT AND ATTENDED A PROM, DANCED TWO LEFT FEET,WAS EASLY BEAT,AND SOON COVERTED TO ISLAM
“In 2022, as Ross noted, California’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program, gave $135,000 to CAIR’s California chapter, along with $200,000 to the Islamic center in Fullerton and the Islamic Foundation of Sheikh IBN Taimmiyah in Hawthorne. Just what public service are these organizations providing in order to justify these lavish donations? If they are not providing any charitable service, it is hard not to see these contributions as an unconstitutional subsidy of a specific religion.
