First, the actual solutions to what’s happening on campus would be to
- deport foreigners supporting terrorists
- defund the departments are responsible for turning campuses into activism hubs
- restore order on campuses using state or federal law enforcement
2 out of 3 of those are evergreen and even the third would mostly apply to the BLM riots and other forms of political harassment.
The ‘Antisemitism Awareness Act’ falls far short of that. Despite the false claims on social media, it does little more than allow Jewish students to sue colleges for allowing harassment of Jews under the guise of ‘anti-Zionism’. It can also help roll back some of the pro-terrorist propaganda in the classroom.
Will it do that?
The actual bill, which few seem to have read, orders the Department of Education to exclusively use the IHRA definition of antisemitism as opposed to using it alongside other definitions. The practical upshot of the ‘Antisemitism Awareness Act’ would be force the Department of Ed to close the ‘anti-Zionism’ loophole, but in reality there’s no particular reason to think that the same bureaucrats ignoring campus antisemitism now will start taking it seriously now that the House passed a bill ordering it to.
Will the Senate even take up and pass the bill? Probably not.
70 Dems, including the Squad and most of the Left, voted against it. Sen. Schumer has indicated he’s not too excited about the people. Rep. Nadler being trotted out to attack the bill publicly suggests Schumer is getting cover to kill the bill.
The ‘Antisemitism Awareness Act’ is, like a lot of congressional legislation, probably doomed. It does provide grist for antisemites from the Left (and now from the Right) to spread conspiracy theories about it. (No, it does not criminalize the bible. An IHRA definition states that comparing Israel’s fight against Islamic terrorism to Jews killing Jesus is not a political criticism, it’s antisemitism.)
If the ‘Antisemitism Awareness Act’ actually becomes law (and I don’t believe it will), a Trump administration could appoint people who would actually use it as a tool to end some of the abuses by terror-supporting faculty in the classroom.
For now the vote on the ‘Antisemitism Awareness Act’ was revealing when 70 Democrats voted against a bill fighting antisemitism.
That’s what it amounts to and not much else.
I can’t ty enough for all you do to clear up confusion out there. LOVED your book btw, just excellent! i plan to buy a few more copies as gifts.
Thank you. I’m really glad you liked the book. And I hope you pass along the message, whether in copies or just the history you learned from it.
>An IHRA definition states that comparing Israel’s fight against Islamic terrorism to Jews killing Jesus is not a political criticism, it’s antisemitism
Daniel. Who died and left it to you and other supporters of this bill to tell me and others what we can and cannot say- period?
Explain that to me.
Are you saying that the passage of this bill would have no real world effect whatsoever on anyone?
If you’re not saying that, then I ask again- who died and left it to you and other supporters of this bill, to tell me and others what we can and cannot say ?
thanks so much for your work clearing up confusion. LOVED your book also, excellent info
If the squad is against it, it is probably a good idea 🙂
That’s the safest bet imaginable. Safer than laying odds on the next time Diaper Joe shits his drawers, which could be anytime. It’s guaranteed anything the Jihad Squad is against is good.
I haven’t seen the roll call, but when you say “the Squad” voted against it, I assume Rep. Tom Massie joined them.
Not just Massie. This is a fine bill to highlight the worst Republicans.
who were the Republicans? but I can guess.
What has America come to ?
The civil rights laws already on the books and the US Constitution and Bill of Rights provide all the lawful authority to crush the depraved psychopathic violent lawbreaking murderous Islamic/Hamas supporters and college campus lawlessness riots and violence and destruction.
No other laws are needed.
What is needed is the will of the political and government leaders to rigorously enforce the present laws.
An ‘Antisemitism Awareness Act’ would just be subverted by the woke leftist anti-Semitic, anti-Israel democrat anti-America scumbag politicians that run Los Angeles, San Francisco, NYC, Newark, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Boston, Washington, etc.etc.etc.
The so-called student protestors and outside agitators against Israel and Jews need to be rounded up and all the laws currently on the book thrown at them, as well as massive fines and civil suits against them and their parents for all the damage and violence and hatred they have been perpetrating on and off campuses.
If that does not work then the law requires the application of deadly force to protect law abiding US citizens.
Depraved psychopathic violent anti-American Islamic Hamas and Islamic Hamas supporters must be arrested, imprisoned, deported, driven out of the USA, or otherwise crushed.
These are criminal Antifa and BLM punks, whether on or off campus, and they are violating the Civil Rights of all US law abiding citizens as well as Jews.
The delusional Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass, and the psychopathic Governor of California Newsom, and the depraved criminal supporting Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón need to be expelled from their positions immediately for their dereliction of duty and their policies of endangering and harming US citizens.
In fact, they should be arrested imprisoned and put on trial for their crimes against US citizens.
Laws are different from political integrity, and political integrity is different from political will, so we’re screwed, at least for now.
The Libertarian in congress voted against it, too. Murray Rothbard recruited neo Nazi types to fill the Libertarian party’s meager coffers and this is the result.
it’s not libertarians, it’s the Ron Paul crowd who are really a variant of the Left when it comes to the nation state
Ron Paul, der Furious Fuhrer, is still alive? I figured he’d choked on his own bile long ago.
Ron Paul? The man who famously, single-handedly destroyed the Libertarian Party? That Ron Paul? We could do without that crazy old man.
Leave it to the alt-right and America Firsters to spread disinformation about this bill.
Some people actually believe its description of antisemitism would apply to the Bible because the Jews killed Jesus (along with the Romans.) Obviously it doesn’t, although the bill is a sham trick to make Americans think the federal government opposes antisemitism and wants it banned from schools.
It’s not just the Bible. It’s all speech. We have this worked out. “Nice” speech doesn’t need protection. Vile speech needs protection. Hateful speech needs protection. Speech which is “dangerous” needs protection. That’s what the 1st amendment is for.
This bill and the people who support it are wrong.
Through no virtue, the sick, broken left is right twice a century. This is one of those times..
Schumer and Nadler/Wadler are disgraces who give lefty libs who hate Jews cover. Hey, voters: vote these clowns out together with Nydia Velazquez, another Jew Hater, Ocasio Cortez and Bowman. I am confident Bowman will lose his primary to Latimer who is marginally better than he is. Come on voters: YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!
I certainly hope Bowman gets bounced. Velasquez is in a grotesque gerrymandered district spread across multiple boroughs and encompassing the old Lower East Side and its Jewish community, but created to make it impossible for anyone other than a Latino candidate to win.
Chucky Cheese Shoomer and Noodles Nadler are Jewish are they not? How many other Jews in CONgrAss will vote against this bill? Self loathing Jews are worse than RINOs. That did not stop them from being rounded up and exterminated in the nazzi death camps and it will not stop the antisemites from coming after them now!
Rep. Sara Jacobs and other J Streeters voted against it.
DNA is not the determinant, dear. We could count up the criminals and psychopaths with Christian grandparents but it would take forever ( and be just as irrelevant).
Schmuckie Schemer is the worst Jew in America. He’s shameless and about as kosher as a vienna sausage. I can’t think of anybody who screws over his own brethren more than he does. I wish those Hamas rioters who besieged his home had beheaded him. I bet if they did, his severed head would still hiss like snake’s heads do when they’re cut off.
he next celebration the Jews should have a image of the Democrat Donkey to throw Beanbags at
Or blindfold Schmuckie Schemer and have kids try to pin tails on his ass. “Oh no! Junior got him in the front!”
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R- FL) also voted against the bill, arguing it criminalizes the New Testament narrative accusing Jews of decide. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) agrees. Both Gaetz and Taylor Greene recently opposed emergency funds for Israel (before Congress passed the aid package for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan), arguing that emergency aid there needed to come from cuts in Congressional spending elsewhere.
The Act itself incorporates the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which includes the accusation that Jews are Christ killers.
I’m now conflicted about both Gaetz and Taylor Greene, both of whom I had supported wholeheartedly.
opposing government spending is one thing, spreading lies is another and Gaetz and Greene have both done that on a number of issues
Really? Lies about what?
Hard to trust any politician.. Greene is a wild card ( a joker?), Gaetz is turning out to be a disappointment. He is in Florida and alienating Jews!
A religion based on hating another religion is its own problem. I naively thought that accusation was set aside as too harmful, years ago. It is a point that argues itself as invalid. Challenging the core premise is the crux ( pun not intended) of the matter. And that intolerance for another belief system is the very definition of hate. I’m disappointed that Gaetz clings to hate.
If things go south in November, we may see more such old fashioned Christian intolerance of Jews before Islam eats the Christians alive.
Excuse my Gloom and Doom, please.
Deicide, not “decide.” I thought I uninstalled autocorrect!
Autocorrect is as sneaky as the WIFI settings on our phones. They both turn themselves back on regularly. It’s annoying.
Gaetz and Greene honestly believe the bill does criminalize the New Testament and Christianity. It doesn’t and neither does the IHRA definition of antisemitism, but one of the examples of antisemitism listed by the IMHA along with its definition is a comparison of Jews as Christ killers to Israelis as Psuedostinian killers. That’s pretty whacko and I’ve never heard anybody do that in person, video or print. That’s what has people like Gaetz, Greene and Charlie Kirk upset. They need to read that stuff more carefully but their misunderstanding of what they read is understandable.
“The Act itself incorporates the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which includes the accusation that Jews are Christ killers.” You see? That’s exactly why Gaetz and Greene believe what they do. The bill and IHRA definition of antisemitism doesn’t include the New Testament account of the Pharisees demanding Pontius Pilate have Jesus executed, which is backed up by contemporary historians such as Tacitus, so it isn’t an accusation, but some people have misunderstood the IHRA definition, it’s examples and the bill.
I think people need to step back and consider this whole commotion for what it is, a pile of bullshit.
I listed the IHRA definition of antisemitism and the bill below and everybody here should read them.
Daniel, this is a point i disagree with you on. The IHRS definition of anti-Semitism would make me a criminal, and many other Christians, for pointing out that it was the Jewish people who demanded the crucifixion of Christ. Through out history ALL nations and people have committed atrocities, that includes the Jewish people, to deny speech that says so is denying history and fact.
I do not blame the Jewish people nor hold any ill feelings toward them. History, good and bad, should never be denied, it should be taught so that we learn from and do not make the same mistakes as our ancestors. I am Catholic and i will never deny what my Church did during the inquisitions to the Jewish people.
It is a belief and part of a faith and not history. You believe it but I don’t. Freedom to have different beliefs was founding fathers idea. On that very point sits hatred. Thats why it was put in the bill.
But I really wish they would have left it out as it points to many human’s incapacity to share the earth with a neighbor of another faith.
The letters of St Paul and the Gospels were written based on eyewitness testimony to the crucifixion of Jesus. If the eyewitnesses were all liars, that’s a lot of liars. And there’s no reason to believe St Paul or the men who compiled the Gospels lied about eyewitnesses.
The Jewish historian Flavius Josephus (born Yosef ben Matityahu) wrote of the crucifixion. So did the Very reliable Roman historian, Tacitus.
Jewish rabbinic writing, particularly the Babylonian Talmud, contains references to Jesus.
I can understand a disbelief that Jesus was the Messiah but disbelief that he was crucified by Romans at the behest of Jews seems odd to me. I don’t see any reason for disbelief although you obviously have at least one.
Actually, I can see a disbelief in the Gospels/Evangels as a reason for disbelief in the crucifixion of Jesus or even his existence but those are irrational beliefs. Most of what we accept as history can’t be proved but events have happened whether we have proof or not. Me personally, I think it’s pretty easy to determine what was likely and what wasn’t because I don’t allow my religious beliefs to cloud my assessments.
I’m a heretic anyway. I have no conviction that Jesus was divine rather than touched by the divine and I pray to God, not him.
The IHRA definition doesn’t make anyone a criminal.
And its reference to Jesus just involves students filing compliants against universities when they claim that Israel killing terrorists is just like Jews killing Jesus
Has nothing to do with traditional Christianity
The IHRA definitioin of antisemitism absolutely does not make anybody a criminal, and certainly not Christians. It simply attempts to combat Jew hatred by describing “antisemitism” accurately and cogently. Here it is:
“Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”
There’s nothing nefarious about it and nothing that calls for punishment of any type.
This is the paragraph that has many conservatives all atwitter:
“Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.”
It’s listed as an example under the heading: “Contemporary examples of antisemitism in public life, the media, schools, the workplace, and in the religious sphere could, taking into account the overall context, include, but are not limited to:”
While technically an example of antisemitism, it’s not one people really use against Israel and Jewish Israelis. Based on public reaction, it’s also unnecessarily inflammatory and it was a dumb move to include it as an example but it doesn’t attempt to criminalize Christianity and the Bible in any way.
I just saw an IHRA representative on Real America’s Voice and he said the organization would be glad to remove that example from the list to alleviate people’s concerns about making criminals out of Christians who believe the multiple Biblical passages about Jews being responsible for Jesus’s crucifixion. We’ll see if that paragraph is removed or not but this whole controversy is over nothing.
Opposition to the H.R. 6090 bill by conservatives who are Christian is based on their misunderstanding but we all know why other people oppose it, particularly D-Bags and islamopithecines. University students would rabidly denounce it too, if they knew about it, but they’re much too ignorant. I don’t think the bill is featured on Tik Tok.
Nice bill! Exposed the anti-Semites in both parties.
And exposed the core of Jew hate. It is that others cannot tolerate that Jews have their own beliefs and would live peacefully and productively next to others but those others feel they must impose their beliefs on Jews and they feel therefore that they have the privilege of hating.
The bill is a trick. It doesn’t do shit to help Jews and it’s sponsors know it won’t be passed.
International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism:
“Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”
That definition can’t be used honestly to depict the Bible as antisemitic and doesn’t even imply it. I read the proposed H.R. 6090 bill and it wouldn’t make the Bible antisemitic and illegal.
However, the bill begins and ends with this description: “To provide for the consideration of a definition of antisemitism set forth by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance for the enforcement of Federal antidiscrimination laws concerning education programs or activities, and for other purposes.”
The CONSIDERATION, not implementation. It also states:” “Nothing in this Act shall be construed” “to alter the standards pursuant to which the Department of Education makes a determination that harassing conduct amounts to actionable discrimination.”
“The standards pursuant to which the Department of Education makes a determination that harassing conduct amounts to actionable discrimination” are whatever it wants them to be on any given day.
Those escape clauses coupled with the fact that the bill’s sponsors and writers know it’ll never be passed means it’s a load of bullshit from start to finish. Just a government trick to make the public thinks it gives a shit about antisemitism rather than perpetrates it.
The federal government is more concerned with an “islamophobia” bill.
It looks like I managed to piss off conservative Christians and observant Jews. I really don’t understand why any conservative would be upset by facts and truth. I thought we honored both?
>The CONSIDERATION, not implementation. It also states:” “Nothing in this Act shall be construed” “to alter the standards pursuant to which the Department of Education makes a determination that harassing conduct amounts to actionable discrimination.”
From the Wikipedia article on the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965::
Once the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 was passed in the subcommittees and brought to floors of Congress, …. During debate on the Senate floor, Senator Ted Kennedy, speaking of the effects of the Act, said, “our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. … Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.”[35]
Sen. Hiram Fong (R-HI) answered questions concerning the possible change in the United States’ cultural pattern .. … Our cultural pattern will never be changed as far as America is concerned.

It has a lot of names. The camel getting its nose under the tent. Boiling the frog slowly. The slippery slope. Bait and switch.
Sure I support 99.9% of what I read here but this, actually, is the .01% that matters the most. This is wrong-thinking, short-sighted Jews and others looking to smash the 1st amendment.
Calling a thing what it is is the beginning of clarity of mind. .
