I’ve been in Christian ministry for 50+ years. It’s not unusual to tie current events to some divine plan. They make for fun conversation, but I never put my faith in anything beyond knowing the Risen Savior.
Throughout history Christians have gotten themselves worked up over things that come along every so often thinking they were the ‘end of the world’.. The industrial revolution caused such social shock, a prayer group in Las Angeles started looking for a new ‘spiritual movement of God’. Pentecostalism and its later offshoot was born and have caused turmoil (good and bad) in mainline denominations ever since.
