Team Biden keeps claiming that Hunter’s crimes have nothing to do with his father and that there was no political role in the investigation. And yet every revelation just pounds the nail deeper into the coffin.
How did Hunter Biden’s lawyers get that sweetheart deal which a judge blew up that would have provided an open-ended immunity? By threatening Biden’s DOJ with the specter of calling the president as a witness.
Then he issued a warning: If the Justice Department charged the president’s son, his lawyers would put the president on the witness stand.
“President Biden now unquestionably would be a fact witness for the defense in any criminal trial,” Clark wrote in a 32-page letter reviewed by POLITICO.
That letter, along with more than 300 pages of previously unreported emails and documents exchanged between Hunter Biden’s legal team and prosecutors, sheds new light on the fraught negotiations that nearly produced a broad plea deal. That deal would have resolved Biden’s most pressing legal issues — the gun purchase and his failure to pay taxes for several years — and it also could have helped insulate Biden from future prosecution by a Republican-led Justice Department.
Which, among other things, was the goal here.
But why was Clark threatening prosecutors with Joe Biden appearing as a witness? Is it because Joe Biden is so incredibly credible? Because having the president show up as a witness would devastate their case?
In the real world, this would have never happened. Joe Biden’s people would never have let him do it. And it’s doubtful Joe Biden would have even had anything to offer. Besides can you imagine cross-examining a guy who rambles impromptu nonsense, confuses basic facts and lies all the time (possibly because his brain is badly broken.)
This wasn’t about threatening prosecutors with an actual appearance by Joe Biden, but with the political interference that this would entail. IRS whistleblowers already testified that they were deterred from following any leads that led to Joe Biden. Proposing to Joe Biden on the stand amounted to an umbrella on the case.
Add Joe Biden to the mix and the case becomes unworkable.
Biden’s lawyers often invoked the case’s extraordinary political undercurrents… And they said a trial of the president’s son would create political and constitutional chaos by pitting the president himself against his own Justice Department.
“This of all cases justifies neither the spectacle of a sitting President testifying at a criminal trial nor the potential for a resulting Constitutional crisis,” Clark wrote.
So much for the claims this has nothing to do with Joe Biden.
Joe Biden was the ace in the hole for the Hunter Biden plea deal.
“This of all cases justifies neither the spectacle of a sitting President testifying at a criminal trial nor the potential for a resulting Constitutional crisis,” Clark wrote.”
Tellingly, those are considerations that haven’t figured into the Trump persecution and they’ve illegally made someone who’s already proven he’s compromised into a special prosecutor. But then, these are the “By any means necessary,” people.
I’m convinced Joe Biden doesn’t lie because his brain is badly broken. He lies because he learned early in life that a lie told with enough conviction and with a good fake Cheshire cat grin would convince a great many people he was actually being truthful. But in the past few years his grin is beginning to droop and the glint in his eye has dimmed along with his speech.
Alas, Joe Biden will never see a jail cell, but it would be a bit satisfying to see him dragged out of the White House, kicking and screaming incoherently.
He’s a pathological liar. My current hypothesis (having been forced by circumstances to try and understand pathological liars) is that they learn that behavior early on in life and then it becomes hardwired in their brains and continues on throughout life.
I think most inveterate and pathological liars are just born that way. My ex wife is a pathological liar and she admitted to me that people she worked with noticed that she lied about random things that didn’t matter. They’re crazy, brother. Not barking at the moon or hearing voices crazy but not sane.
Biden, Soros and Bragg making their dirty deeds even more dirty deeds, We know who the real culprits are
The specter of an ex-president and person campaigning for the presidency in court bothers no one much among DC elites.
I’ve been wondering at past impeachment of Trump for asking about possible Ukraine corruption all because Biden was a candidate at that time as compared to indicting Trump all over the place now. Is the difference that Trump is not officially the candidate from the R party? Or just more unequal justice?
