The D.C. federal judiciary consists of mindless establishment hacks who over the last 5 years seem to exist purely to rubber stamp leftist prosecutions of their political opponents while giving leftist defendants a pass.
I’m not sure that Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee, is the worst of the bunch, but that’s only because it’s a very tight race. Still Judge Chutkan has made no secret of her burning hatred for Trump and conservatives, so she’s enjoying the moment, while announcing that the Bill of Rights is optional.
If you’re her political opponent.
“Mr. Trump, like every American, has a First Amendment right to free speech. But that right is not aboslute,” the Obama judge argued. “Defendant’s free speech is subject to the release conditions imposed at arraignment and it must yield to the orderly administration of justice.”
Trump’s attorney had argued that measures restricting a political candidate’s free speech would interfere with the election, while Chutkan claimed that she did not care about the election and would not take it into account. Of course not taking the election into account means providing a decisive advantage to her boss, Biden.
“What the defendant is currently doing — the fact that he’s running a political campaign has to yield to the orderly administration of justice. If that means he can’t say exactly what he wants to say about witnesses in this case, that’s how it has to be,” Chutkan argued.
That’s not how it has to be. That’s how Chutkan is supporting her party by making it. The idea that anything Trump says will alter the outcome of the case is nonsense. The case has been tried in the public by the media from Day One.
This is about the unprecedented muzzling of a political candidate during a presidential election.
Yes. And the protective order submitted by the government in response to Trump’s “You go after me and I come after you” Truth Social post seemed inappropriately concerned with the personal protection of the prosecutors as justification for withholding or subjecting evidence to broad protection. If there were any merit to the government’s case, all the evidence would be flooding to the lawyers. Brady and otherwise. All of it except trial strategy.
Police and prosecutors shouldn’t be able to say, “I’m scared! I don’t need to do my job now!”
Chutkan’s obvious inability to be fair and impartial should be ruthlessly preserved for appeal. I cannot imagine that she is not ultimately sinking the government’s chances of success with her handling of this and the other January 6th cases.
appeal to whom exactly. It is all a mess. `No court has been fair to this one man, . Who else had their taxes made public`? Theres no true process happening here.
Exactly. I am hoping an appellate court, perhaps the Supreme Court will overturn and give us a “bright line” ruling that prevents this kind of political sabotage.
The protective order made on behalf of the government expressed fear that the prosecutors and the government would be HARMED by the evidence requested by Trump’s lawyers.
Think about it – the government is afraid of its citizenry knowing the truth. And the prosecutors are clutching their pearls! It makes my blood boil.
“…has to yield to justice…” is the whole point.
I speculate that Biden’s impeachment can wait as his criminality eviscerates his credibility to cessasion, Garland’s cannot.
Not impeaching Garland is promotion of election interference.
To me, this seems to be 1, panic over the possibility of another Trump presidency, and 2, they think they have almost achieved their goal of taking over our country and imposing their will.
They appear not to care anymore about the opposition. Rumor is that next week Biden will impose some measure of climate emergency controls.
Your 1 & 2 are both correct.
But thinking the opposition is supposed to “care” is a grave mistake. The idea of caring about your people, and your nation is long gone. We are no longer a people or nation. We are an empire of many peoples and nations, all vying for special interest, flying their own colors, claiming oppression by us as they live upon our largesse. Our open borders and largesse engenders not gratitude, but thirst for our blood and plunder. Our government is their friend – not ours.
Politics is about power in empire. There is no real public interest where the public is composed of internecine and competing interests. We will have appeasement, perhaps. Bread and circuses streaming into our 15-minute-city condos, while we wait for the soylet green worm food to be delivered by drone to our doorstep.
I agree with you. I’m talking about the left’s assessment of the opposition as an enemy. They think those of us on the right no longer pose much of a threat. They’re pretty much getting what they want, with no significant pushback.
They’re nervous that someone like Trump might come back and upset the apple cart, but they don’t seem to be much worried about anything else.
Good grief, they featured a cop-hating transvestite on the cover of the most recent Multiple Sclerosis magazine ‘Momentum.’ When they go so far as to insult these people, things are bad indeed.
Thanks KH. I was thinking earlier today about the difference between life in the wild and the civilized life we grew up with. The government now is filled with leftist predators.
I mean who really wants to be involved with Americans which they are going to lose thanks to Chinese social media because they cam’t investigate the reasons they lost because superlatively superficial.
Damn tight it’s negotiable. Have you ever encountered anything with Trumpf that wasn’t negotiable?
Una, you are one of the most interesting, intelligent, and insightful commenters. But it is a waste of your time to criticize Trump here. We’ve heard it all before. The media here has bombarded us with it daily since 2016. Can’t you find something else to criticize?
I mean to be quite honest have you ever encountered anything like this? Theses pathetic yesterday Dem fags who don’t even know what they’re fighting or why they’re fighting except that they’ve been left behind and disreputed? I suspect you kind of might though.
Someone here has TDS badly. It is not surprising. It was and is very contagious for certain people.
Could be Tourette’s syndrome, internet variant. Rapidfire, nonsensical, disjointed posts, then quiet for a little while, until the next essay appears that mentions President Trump.
Stuck here with this never-ending stupidity that doesn’t even know what to do with itself even when told it can’t win elections apart from a landslide. Excuse me, it consoles itself with the notion it deserves a landslide.
Chutjan’s future as a judge and member of the bar association is Not Absolute.
So now we have Globalists Judges approved of by the ICC we have just more reasons to pull totally out of the United Nations and move the whole lot to Moscow or Beijing without America we can turn the UN facility into a Homeless Shelter
“Oh, fortunate Washington, D.C., to have such a perspicacious jackass for a judge!”
I wouldn’t trust that judge to judge a Flower Show much less then this Witch Hunt against Trump. How much is Soros the CFR and ICC is involved in this whole thing?
